Fantasy Faire 2025: Izumo

STORYLINE: High in the misty mountains of Japan, there was an enchanted city time forgot. Rabbits could talk, guardian foo dogs turned their stone heads as you passed, and a neko named Soramaru soared through the clouds with the help of his magical umbrella. His only companion was his mischievous flying cat, Mikeneko.

Long ago, Soramaru had discovered the perfect way to make sure Mikeneko followed him: he tied a tiny bell to the end of a long ribbon connected to his wrist. The bell jingled, the ribbon danced, and the cat simply couldn't resist. The two were inseparable.

But it was not all game and games in the clouds. One afternoon, their cupboards were bare.

Soramaru sighed, “We’ll just have to get creative, Mikeneko. Why don’t we try fishing in the forbidden pool? They say it’s dangerous. No one dares to fish there. But that just means the fish will be huge and fat!”

Mikeneko’s eyes shimmered, and his fluffy tail swayed with excitement.

Soramaru peeked over the edge of the cliffside walkway to the sparkling blue waters far below. He licked his lips, snapped open his umbrella, and leapt over the ledge, drifting gently down through the mists. Behind him the tiny bell jingled softly in the wind.

Mikeneko hesitated at first, but the waving ribbon and its shiny bell soon had him chasing after it like a kitten for a toy.

Once below, Soramaru crouched by the water’s edge, hands hovering just above the surface, waiting for a fish to come too close.

But then, the water began to boil.

He slipped on the rocks and fell backward as a gigantic dragon rose from the pool! Then another, and another until there were eight heads snarling above him. The nearest one snapped its long sharp teeth at him.

Soramaru yelped and flung open his umbrella. With a rush of wind, he was quickly swept up like a dandelion seed with Little Mikeneko trailing close behind.

Back in the hidden city, safe among the pines and temple eaves, Soramaru sighed again.
They were still hungry.

He thought and thought, and then he had an idea!

“I’ll fish from above,” he laughed. “With a really, really long string! And I’ll ask nicely first this time, maybe offer a rice ball for the dragons too. Sounds good?”

Mikeneko listened carefully, then nodded his fluffy head.

Yes. That was a much better idea indeed.

The final days are upon us at Fantasy Faire 2025. So much to see and do, the time flies by so quickly. Today's post takes place at the Izumo sim by Gabriel. It's beautifuly crafted like an ancient hidden Japanese city, but also had a magical pool and oceanside ritual. (see pictures below). There is a sim hunt to find all the White Rabbits. He's tricky to find!

My image and story were inspired by items available at the Faire.  ...From Onedays, is the elegant Xia Lian kimono. It comes in several color styles, (I loved the PBR textures for the black ones, but white worked better for this image).  ...My adorable animesh companion is the Norwegian Forest Cat Calico by CKit Falconry. It has am amusing variety of animations, and you buy fun bonus items too. I look forward to see more for the cat!   ...The Rain Umbrella by Naminoke is Purrrfect for the feline kind. The little purple fish on it are animated and swim all around the umbrella. It also has a cool rain sound effect.   ...Also by Naminoke is the Abysinian Chesha mask. It's unrigged, so you can resize and add it anywhere.   ...The cute lore for the cat is the Shizuka RB cuffs that come with several wind blown poses. It's just cool. Fantasy Faire 2025: Holi

STORYLINE: Deep beneath the Fairelands, in the dark waterways under the ancient city of Holi, slept the long lost brother of Krishna and Shesha. Early in their boyish adventures fighting demons on Earth, he had been struck down by the Unweaver and fell into a slumber that lasted over two thousand years.

But his feverish nightmare was finally broken by the sound of laughter. Rising from the shadows, he found people tossing colorful powder and chasing each other through the streets, their joy and mischief lasting from day into night.

Ah, the Celebration of Spring. With every burst of laughter, warmth returned to his old coils. Delighted, he shed his slumber like old snake skin and joined the celebration.

Suddenly, a boom roared above. He looked up, awestruck, as a shimmering lotus flower rained light over the crowd. It filled him with wonder and hope. If humans were capable of such marvels, maybe with their help the Unweaver, his old nemesis, could be defeated after all.

IT'S FANTASY FAIRE TIME! Or what I like to call, "the Super Bowl of virtual worlds." It's not to be missed!  This year the sim designers have outdone themselves, with stunning sim designs using PBR for new levels of realism. I feel like I'm inside a slick video game. And all for a good cause, raising money for The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This post was inspired by the Holi sim and Hindu mythology.    ...For the Holi Naga, I used the wonderful Pandora blue skin by Aki, Entu. It comes with dot tattoos and 2 stripe patterns for face and body. The ear texture is a free gift. Other blue and purple skins are available.   ...The intricate halo is a wearable prop by AIR. It comes with a modify hud.   ...The floating Orbs are by The Little Bat. They come in left and right, and both trigger a hold pose and animation. A texture hud lets you change its color.   ...The Sunscale Naga tattoo is by AERTH and comes with material shine applier, and textures to match the amazing Aii Sunscale Naga tail.   ...Speaking of, the Aii Sunscale snake tail (see in pictures below) is stunning! Easily the best Naga/Lamia tail in SL. Like all Aii products it had a wealth of texture options and ability to hide or show various parts. It has PBR and shimmers beautifully in the lights. The tail uses a clever combination of Leg bones and Tail bones to animate the tail. It comes with an AO hud to display and animate the tail properly.   ...Bonus, when I need a static tail, (shown below), I use the Lamia by deviousMind.   ...Additional fun tattoos for the face are by Star Quake with a forehead fade and eye makeup Dessen by Faeble.   ...The haunting eyes are Magici by Patrichor. These eyes replace your normal ones, and have several rig options to fit every humanoid head. The texture hud allows a crazy amount of options, from single color to fades, shadow, highlights, animations, pupil, iris, etc. It's a lot of fun to play with and perfect for all fantasy creatures.   ...{anc} has many of the best atmospheric effects, the Holi smoke clouds, confetti, and fireworks just more examples of excellent mood setters. I especially love the fireworks. It's a mesh object with animated textures. A steal of a deal if you ask me! And money goes to Relay for Life.

Like all Fallen God creations, the Holi is extremely detailed with much thought invested into it, personality, a strong theme, and it's fun to explore. As you explore, you may spot some NPCs that are part of the Holi Helping Hands region Hunt. To start, go to Houses of Color 1 and 2. To begin your adventure into a spooky story from our friends from Japan, go to the link. Straight ahead on the path is a marketplace with fun items to purchase. To the left are instructions how to play, To go to start, sit on the small shrine just right of the billboards. Once you are in the main start section, click for the English Hud (or Japanese Hud). Be sure to ACCEPT the popup menu for Experiences. This is needed to proceed, and it will keep track of your progress in the game/story. (NOTE: If at any point, the story doesn’t automatically start, walk a bit and it will trigger.)

All set? Good! Now walk forward through the rows of red Torrii gates. The hud will popup. You can choose Start, or Continue. (If you have already started the game, choose continue or else it will erase all your progress.) The story prologue beings from Koma's point of view. Step forward once more, the prologue from the Professor's point of view will play. Continue on the path, and the Survivor's point of view will play. Once you reach the end of the path, right-click+sit on the doors to move to the next stage. Now the main story begins.

To unlock new chapters of the story as you go along, you must complete certain tasks. You start in the library. You need to find a total of 10 books/magazines. As you find them, they will be added to your HUD at the top of your screen. Once you have found them all, touch the doors of the library to move to the next stage.

 

 

You land in the village. You need to find the First Family's house, its the largest one. Once inside, more of the story is revealed. First find the Male Student's bedroom. (Hint: its the Red Door. Bedrooms are on the 2nd floor.) Then find Koma's confining room in the basement. (Hint: its the white square on the floor.) Then find Grandma's bedroom. (Hint:  its the door with the orange wood frame.) Once you are there, you need find her Dairy and touch it to go to the next stage. 

 

Oh no! The diary has a security spell on it! To escape from Grandma's Twisted Dimension Maze, you must find the map of the First Family's house. You will know you found it when you see a table in the center of the room with the map on top, highlighted by a bright green transparent box around it. Touch it to reveal all of Grandma's secrets, and enter the next stage.

 

You return to the village to perform the purification ritual. Near where you land is a small Hokora shine. Touch it to get the map of the village's hokora locations and correct order to touch them. You see a lot of the village as you run to each location. When you reach the last shrine the entrance of the village, you unlock the climax of the story, and will be transported to the finale stage.

   

Once the story ends, you will be teleported and have an attached object, a box of amber sugar candy. Follow the path to the shrine. You can touch the mailbox on the right front side of the shrine to send a message to the game creators. On the steps before the shrine are more gifts and souvenirs. And you can make a donation to the Osaisen tip jar in front of the shine. I hope you enjoyed this interactive story!

Necrotize: Incubation

STORYLINE: Crewmen Stephan couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched. The cargo freighter USS Charon was dead in the water near the Scheol Nebula. Unless he could find the problem and make the necessary repairs, he was stuck until help arrived. And since that could take years, it was up to him to fix it, no matter how much his skin crawled as he ventured deeper and deeper into the heart of the dilapidated spaceship. His stomach growled angrily. He hadn't been feeling well since he ate that lousy dinner on a passing freighter a month ago. "Never Again," he swore under his breath. No sooner had he opened a hatch in the floor, then something flew out and attached itself to his face. He screamed and clawed at it, gagging and thrashing wildly. Something going down his throat! But it was too late, a paralytic venom was already slowing his movements. His vision was blurred as a dark shape loomed over him. It knelt beside him, saying “Shhh, shhh..." and stroking his hair. Tears rolled down his eyes. What was it? It looked alien, but human too. The creature’s sharp claws were caressing him like a pet. "I know it hurts, my poison will kill the foreign food-born egg growing inside you." His limp body was picked up like he weighed nothing. The alien carried him to a hole melted in the ship's hull, and judging from the leaking fuel lines, this was most likely the cause of the engine failure. Another ship was attached outside. It's black surface gleamed and seemed alive with pulsing green goo in its biomechanical veins. "We are going to a safe place," his capturer said, "Nothing will ever hurt you again as long as you are with me."

ALIENS! HORROR! Necrotize is a unique event full of things to haunt your nightmares. This image was inspired by the tale of Hades and Persephone with an Aliens twist. On the Alien is the super cool Giger outfit by Somnium. It comes with an infection BOM tattoo which I combined with the Human Glitch Ncthr tattoo. The haunted Syrre Eyes are by Petrichor and have so many options, its great. Poor Stephan is wearing the Krova Animesh Facehugger, and Antaya Incubator attachment. I discovered it works on male and female avis that wear a layer alpha. His outfit is Orther by Asteroidbox. It has support for many mesh bodies, male, female, and the Mait flat like I used here. Aengima: Dreadful Depths: Captain Nemo

STORYLINE: The mournful sounds of a pipe organ reverberated throughout the metal hull of the Nautilus. Captain Nemo's sour mood was made obvious to all. His submersible ship lay sunk on the ocean floor, wounded by a Kraken attack. They had been so close to finding the lost city of Atlantis! It was frustrating. But Captain Nemo could not be so easily defeated. They would make the necessary repairs and be underway on the hunt in less than a week. 

Dive! Dive! Dive!  Last call for the fun underwater steampunk round of Aengima. This image is of course a little homage to the 2000 Leagues Under the Sea. I was inspired by so many great items. The beautiful La Malvada Muder tattoo is lovely and full of interesting water themed elements. The Hat is by KiB designer, and Eyepath and Goatee by Badwolf. From Graveyard is the walking cane. And from Static are the whimsical animesh  Nightmariner Lanterns. They are so fun to watch, but also come in a hold version and static props.

Sword of the Kōmori Daiyoukai

STORYLINE: The Nightfang was a powerful sword. He could feel the energy pulsing in it. But like so many things in life, his father's favorite weapon didn't come with an instruction manual. Years would pass as he experimented with the it, trying to tease out its secrets. Then one day while strolling through a battlefield littered with the fallen, a butterfly landed on the sharp edge of the blade unharmed. Then more butterflies came to rest on it as if it was perfectly natural for butterflies to suddenly be smitten with a deadly metal. Thats when he realized those were no ordinary butterflies, they were the Jigokuchō, or the hell butterflies that come to collect the souls of the dead. Surely this was a major clue to Nightfang's ultimate attack.

I used a combination of the Enji and Shiro for this outfit, paired with the Enji Geta. Hey, it wouldn't be me if I didn't make a twist to this look; Hot Pink Latex Tabi? Obi on the Shoulder? Have you lost your mind, Dev? Maybe. lol I love how this turned out.  The AIR butterfly gacha is fun, when you walk an exact duplicate of your butterfly will rez around you in a particle effect. Pretty cool. In the set, the screens by katat0nik are mod, so they can all be tinted whatever color you like. The hanging lanterns are by Who What and include animating goldfish inside. .... Speaking of awesome, and japan... the Kagami event has opened. I look forward to seeing you all dressed up for another adventure game this year. See you there!

STORYLINE: Drip, drip, drip. The passage of time was like the steady drip of water into his tomb. The Temple of the Moon had long since been forgotten. Thick jungle vines covered it's secret entrance. Unknown to him, the legend of the Feathered Serpent had become something he would barely recognize. He remembered the frantic prayers of the lake people. They called him Quetzalcoatl and begged him to strike down the false god, Cortez. But still he slept. Meddling in the affairs of humans is how he came to be in this cursed sleep. ...However, today was different. Cautious footsteps of a trespasser echoed in his maze. Trap after trap was sprung. He chuckled to himself. He had created many delicious ways for fools to die. There was a loud bang followed by a sharp metal swish. The scent of blood wafted in the damp air. He licked his parched lips. Had it been 4000 years since he last drank blood? He felt sad his entertainment was over. Wait. His eyes snapped opened. The steps were continuing. This could be no human. Who dared to invade his lair?!

The Ketsueki Oni

STORYLINE: Suddenly the crowd of villagers gathered around the Hammer Game parted. The towering Ketsueki Oni stepped forward. In a deep intimidating voice he called out to the Kitsune Twins. "You two may have fooled all these feeble minded humans, but your tricks do not work on me." The Twins smiled, Surely the Ketsueki Oni would prove to be the strongest of all! Their Sensei would be so impressed by their plan. The Oni glared at them. "What is the fabulous prize you promise? There is nothing you trickers can offer that I would have. However, I will do your contest on one condition, the prize goes to the owner of this club," he pointed the tiny toy kanabo club at them. The Kitsune twins blinked. A child's toy? Surely this strong Oni wouldn't use something so ridiculous looking. But they shrugged it off. Their mission was only to find the strongest man of the village, it didn't matter to them who got the prize, or what tool was used. They agreed. Then with a mighty swing of the toy club, the Ketsueki Oni not only shot up the heavy fireball and sparked all the fireworks, he broke the game itself and the toy club.

The Forgotten Kohaku River

STORYLINE: For hours he would stand perfectly still in a random body of water. Was this his home? He was a water spirit, yes, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not remember if this was his lake, his pond, or his river. No place was familiar. Had his home been destroyed? He didn't know. As long as his name was lost to him, so too were his memories.

The Fantasy Gacha Carnival is back! Head over to the official website and flickr group for images of all the wonderful goodies you can win. Inspiring this post is the amazing Cureless Dragon ultrarare. It comes with a hud to change the colors of the body, whiskers, horns, eyes, teeth, and tongue to either white, black, red or green. It's an attachment you can scale for a good fit.  From AIR is the gorgeous weeping Shidare Sakura tree. The detail of each flower is lovely. It's perfect for gardens or even scaled down as bonsai. It comes in white, pink, blue, or black petals. It includes a hanging tassel for the tree that can change to red, plink, blue, white, yellow, or black and gold or silver metal. There are 4 bonus twig sprigs, and 3 hanging flowers.  Also used by AIR is the hanging mouth tassel gacha, Rin.  Matching up nicely with the tree is the wearable sakura petal storm by Naminoke. It spirals around the body in a magical way and lines up nice with the Dragon familiar too.  For fans of Miyazaki's Spirited Away, you might have spotted this is my take on Haku. For his bob hairstyle, I used the Freya hair from Wasabi Pills, and for his outfit I used the Suikan by BareRose. I edited the top to remove the undershirt and sleeves.  Shown below the May Soul's Blindfold from the Akira gacha at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. Its non-rigged so you can adjust the fit. The setting for this picture was taken at LEA13 Miyako jima Island.

Revenge of the Red Leaf Tribe

STORYLINE: The last of the Red Leaf Tribe, the shy Devva Vauke, learned quickly what a cruel place the galaxy was. Now a castaway on his own homeworld, he could choose to give up and die with his people, or could he choose to fight and live on by any means necessary. Loneliness changes a man. Gone was the soft tender glow in his eyes. It was now replaced with the sharp focus of a predator looking for revenge. It was Vauke who had latent force ability, not anyone else from his tribe. The fear that drove Amemph to slaughter all the Red Leaf had instead triggered the very thing he feared most, the birth of a new force user.

Fallen Gods has a new cool body marking gacha at The Fantasy Gacha. It comes as a tattoo layer for the body with appliers and a system face. But for my character I wanted to use the TMP head, so I used the Pure Coal skin for the body with the Legacy tattoo on top, and for the face, I used the skin Legacy of Maul. It works pretty closely but there is a slight seam at the neck so I used the Yasum face mask rather than fuss with it.  The Armor is Not The Droid Parts by QweenB at the Fantasy Gacha. You can win several colors. The parts are not rigged, so it was easy to scale it up for male fit. The Cross Guard Saber is from the FGC gacha by Equinox. I love these sabers. (You can see it in action below.) In the background is luring the ominous Rebel Hunter driod by Sushi. Chewie's The Crossbow gun worn on the back is by MaySoul. Dark Side Pants by Aphotic, and belt by Muschilu. This lion mane of pink hair awesomeness is by Truth. Love the style. The cape is by FATEplay and comes with a hud to change the style for hood up or down, cape length, and how it draps over the shoulder. The claws for TMP are by CerberusXing. Horns by Death Row, and Cubic Cherry. Face jewelry by Barerose. Make up by Lovely Disarray. And thanks to Niiiigel for the Nicotine poses.

STORYLINE: Vauke's love for exploring the swamp of the Fire Snake is what saved his life. It wasn't such a bad place when using a Recon Wader with a Navbot. And if anything attacked, he always had his overprotective pet dragon he called Spitting Rage, or Spiddle for short.

Shown here are some more fun toys at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. The All Terrain Recon Transport is wearable and will animate when you walk. The adorable Dragon bot, D-R4CO, is by HEXtraordinary. His is an animated pet you can wear. Chasing behind, is the White Attacking Dragon by 22769. There are 3 colors and 3 different dragon poses you can win. He has a breathing chest animation, and is completely editable, so you can tint or scale them up or down as you need. very nice. These pictures were taken at the dark and moody Pandemonium sim.

A Child Who Cannot Die, 1

STORYLINE: Much has been written about the boy who never grew up, but few know the true genesis of the tale. Behind the sweeping adventures in Neverland, there was always the sound of a ticking clock. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock.... Perhaps one needs to look no further than the archenemy of the boy, Captain James Hook, for an insight on what was really going on. Hook was forever trying to kill Peter. But isn't it odd the fearless pirate grew weak at the sight of blood?

Enchantment is going on strong with many wonderful creations, live performances, and of course the popular hunt. This round's theme is Peter Pan. Each round I enjoy making my own twist to the fairy tale. This time I found an interesting detail about story's creation, I hope you enjoy it. ... Shown above is the Pan Pants by Pucca Firecaster. They come in male and female, two leg lengths (one long and one for boots), and also include a hud for texture change. The pants are mod, so you can tint them too. The wonderful Admiral hat is by Remarkable Oblivion. You can get red, blue, brown, or black. The hats come with a resize script. The Skull and Crossbones eyepatch is from the gacha by Astralia. By AiShA is Corsair Hook Hand. There were several other hook styles, this one worked great for me under the coat and it's rigged. In the background is the Neverland Clock by 22769 ~ [bauwerk]. The clock keeps time and makes noises too. Finishing out my outfit is the jacket, sash, tattoo, and necklaces by BareRose's Pirate Emperor. The boots from The Raider outfit by Quality Designs. They are sculpted prim that attach to the upper leg and foot. The traditional Captain Hook has a black ringlet wig but I would much rather rock a Jack Sparrow style so I used the No Smoke dreadlocks by No.Match. They come in both male and female fit. The goatee is by Scared, and the sword with texture change hud is by Kalopsia. The Season 5 ears by Mandala are awesome! I picked them up during the 12 Days of Savings going on right now in the marketplace. Just type "12 Days of Christmas" in the search and you can see all the deals. The Tox skin by Tableau Vivant you can buy as a system skin, shown above, or face applier for the TMP head. For body appliers for SLinka nd TMP, you can get those at the mainstore.
