Midnight Order : As the World Falls Down

STORYLINE: Such a sad love. Laughter had fled the decaying Goblin City. The distressed goblins voted to send the Wisest among them to fix the problem. There in a crumbling throne room, surrounded by a mountain of books, was the fierce presence of their troubled leader. The Wiseman tried to sound sympathetic, "It's clear to this old one, a broken heart is the source of your Highnesses’ diminished power." The Goblin King shot him a burning glare. "It's not your fault, your Majesty. You had not been properly socialized with humans. They often say what they don't mean. Take this baby? Or make this baby stop crying? Who knows. You'll do better next time. Forget the raven haired beauty." The King rose to his full height and towered over the small trembling being. "Is my magic not absolute?" The Wiseman immediately bowed deeply and averted his eyes, "Yes, yes of course." The King roared and threw a book at him, "You understand nothing! She WISHED I do anything for her love! It's binding! Unbreakable, you nitwit! I was compelled to grant every ill-conceived notion that crossed her addled mind. Did it make her happy? Did she not see I showed her the error of her ways? NO!" he bellowed, "It made me a villain!" He sank back down on the throne and moaned in pain. "Even if I wanted to leave, I no longer have the power." His gaze turned to a broken stone arch, and looked somewhere far away. His voice trailed in despair, "banished from her life...." 

Suddenly, ray of light penetrated the gloom. A small snow goblin scampered into the room, climbed up on the throne, and offered an intriguing gift from the Academy of the Dark Arts. The King took the book and read its title out loud, "Chicken Soup for the Goblin Afflicted Soul." Intrigued, he glanced at the index and quickly turned to page 98. The sudden click of a heel made his head jerk up just in time to see a crystal ball materialize in front of him. Where did it come from? It wasn't his. His power had long since fled. The ball flew across the room and was caught by a blond spiky haired teen emerging from the shadows wearing the robes of the Academy, "You can thank me later, Mr Tricky" the lad narrowed his eyes. "By the way, that was my book. The Academy helped me overcome your surprise parting gift. You should be more careful who you mess with, I'm not a defenseless baby anymore. But let's not fight, there's someone who wished to see you." With the comic flair of a goblin showman, he stepped aside revealing his blushing older sister who had grown into a beautiful woman. He felt his heart skip a beat. She was terribly busy pretending the floor was interesting. "Just because life's not fair, doesn't mean the King can't impose fairness upon it. If you accept the terms of the deal, you can stay with my sister  half the year, and I will rule in your place with the full power of the King. When time is up, we will automatically switch places and this blasted curse will be lifted from me so I can live a normal life. We repeat the cycle every year. Do you accept the terms?" Speechless, the King had nothing snarky to say. His mouth hung open as he looked from his clever heir to the woman he loved. It wasn't like her to be shy, perhaps she was embarrassed, or felt shame? Maybe she was worried he would say no. When she finally had the courage to look into his eyes, all her doubts melted away. The happiest man in the Goblin Kingdom smiled at her and teased, "Come come, you didn't wish upon your poor brother to rescue me, now did you?"

That was fun. A little super condensed mini sequel to the movie classic Labyrinth. The whole idea for the post and story started with the Cryptdweller boots and pants by Quills and Curiosities, (which  reminded me so much of David Bowie), and the Chicken Soup books by Ivy that included Goblin. Both items are for sale at the new round of Midnight Order. Since its a new year, I thought it would be good try new things. The image is done in what I call the "illustrative style" my blogger bat buddy Aarya excels at. Thanks for the helps, Aarya! Engine Room: The Golden Express Bandit

STORYLINE: Kurt Jameson, (formerly known as the Golden Express Bandit), lurched forward falling out of his chair. He had been fast asleep on his post outside the Dark Inventor’s door when the Clocktower Hotel violently shook. Danger! Danger! Danger! All around him were little mechanical sparrows sounding the alarm. He cursed under his breath and searched the wooden floor with his hands until at last he found what he needed. He quickly snapped the strange visor into place over the ruin of his face once more. As it hummed to life, he was able to see again. Without wasting more time, he grabbed his weapons and darted to the window to look outside. A dark ominous crack had formed across the sky, and from inside it, something impossibly bright fell to the ground with such a force the hotel shook again. He took a few steps back. Had the device malfunctioned? When his gaze returned outside, everything was normal. He shrugged and was about to leave when the crack reformed and the bright flaming object fell, but this time when it struck the ground it was so violent two brick buildings nearby fell. He gasped, “What the hell?”

Wizarding Faire: The Trouble with Doyle, part 2

STORYLINE: Fia flopped down for lunch in the Great Hall of Hogwarts and sighed, "Has anyone seen Doyle? He's missing again." Her Griffendor roommates exchanged knowing looks. "You didn't hear? He reversed the word order of a spell, its some kind of learning disability, and summoned a small Dementor." Fia's eyes grew wide. All color drained from her face. "Shut up. He did not!" The other girl nodded, "It's true. Lucian's mom reported him to the Ministry of Magic. She demanded he get expelled immediately. You would think those slimy Slytherins would love to have a Dementor for a pet, and..." Fia suddenly stood up and slammed her fist into the table. "Don't talk about Doyle that way! He's wonderful!" She ran out of the hall to her favorite tree and sunk down to think. This was horrible. It wasn't right to kick him out of school for one mistake. Poor Doyle. She pulled from her pocket a treasured doodle drawing. Doyle made it on a lunch napkin. When no one was looking, she stole it. She traced the lines with her finger. He was really talented. It wasn't right he was getting kicked out....  Suddenly, an idea hit her! She raced to the library, grabbed a book of spells on casting magic by drawing symbols (instead of using chants), and raced to the Slytherin Dorms. She banged on the door like mad. "I need to see Doyle!" It was unlike her to be so bold. The Slytherin boys were annoyed. They told her it was too late, and to go away. But she refused to accept Doyle was already gone, so they showed her his empty dorm. It was only then her shoulders fell. "...but, I have the perfect plan to save him...."

Summerfest 2019: Crabs vs Starfish

STORYLINE: Unknown to the humans playing in the summer surf, their picnic area had drawn the attention of the denizens of the beach. Mr Crack Kracken and his crew of dancing crabs challenged Ms Sea Star and her children to a little contest: Who can pop the most bottles open? The starfishes quickly fell behind as the crabs popped and popped until there were bottle caps laying everywhere. Regardless of the winner, all creatures of the shoreline enjoyed the delicious soda pop, and a good time was had by all.

How cute are all these beach creatures?  They are available now at Summerfest. The sandcastle by Hextraordinary is full of Animesh Crabs. You lay them down individually, or trigger their thier cute cheorographed dance routine by touching the castle. The crabs by MishMish are also animesh and will wander side to side. They also come in static poses, and several colors. The Starfish by Yokai are also animated. You can wear them or rez. They come in several colors and static poses too. The palm tree in the background is also animated with a pleasant slow sway. The mini fridge, soda bottles, and bottle caps are by Dahlia.

Revenge of the Red Leaf Tribe

STORYLINE: The last of the Red Leaf Tribe, the shy Devva Vauke, learned quickly what a cruel place the galaxy was. Now a castaway on his own homeworld, he could choose to give up and die with his people, or could he choose to fight and live on by any means necessary. Loneliness changes a man. Gone was the soft tender glow in his eyes. It was now replaced with the sharp focus of a predator looking for revenge. It was Vauke who had latent force ability, not anyone else from his tribe. The fear that drove Amemph to slaughter all the Red Leaf had instead triggered the very thing he feared most, the birth of a new force user.

Fallen Gods has a new cool body marking gacha at The Fantasy Gacha. It comes as a tattoo layer for the body with appliers and a system face. But for my character I wanted to use the TMP head, so I used the Pure Coal skin for the body with the Legacy tattoo on top, and for the face, I used the skin Legacy of Maul. It works pretty closely but there is a slight seam at the neck so I used the Yasum face mask rather than fuss with it.  The Armor is Not The Droid Parts by QweenB at the Fantasy Gacha. You can win several colors. The parts are not rigged, so it was easy to scale it up for male fit. The Cross Guard Saber is from the FGC gacha by Equinox. I love these sabers. (You can see it in action below.) In the background is luring the ominous Rebel Hunter driod by Sushi. Chewie's The Crossbow gun worn on the back is by MaySoul. Dark Side Pants by Aphotic, and belt by Muschilu. This lion mane of pink hair awesomeness is by Truth. Love the style. The cape is by FATEplay and comes with a hud to change the style for hood up or down, cape length, and how it draps over the shoulder. The claws for TMP are by CerberusXing. STORYLINE: Vauke's love for exploring the swamp of the Fire Snake is what saved his life. It wasn't such a bad place when using a Recon Wader with a Navbot. And if anything attacked, he always had his overprotective pet dragon he called Spitting Rage, or Spiddle for short.

Shown here are some more fun toys at the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. The All Terrain Recon Transport is wearable and will animate when you walk. The adorable Dragon bot, D-R4CO, is by HEXtraordinary. His is an animated pet you can wear. Chasing behind, is the White Attacking Dragon by 22769. There are 3 colors and 3 different dragon poses you can win. He has a breathing chest animation, and is completely editable, so you can tint or scale them up or down as you need. very nice. These pictures were taken at the dark and moody Pandemonium sim.
