Fantasy Faire 2025: Holi

STORYLINE: Deep beneath the Fairelands, in the dark waterways under the ancient city of Holi, slept the long lost brother of Krishna and Shesha. Early in their boyish adventures fighting demons on Earth, he had been struck down by the Unweaver and fell into a slumber that lasted over two thousand years.

But his feverish nightmare was finally broken by the sound of laughter. Rising from the shadows, he found people tossing colorful powder and chasing each other through the streets, their joy and mischief lasting from day into night.

Ah, the Celebration of Spring. With every burst of laughter, warmth returned to his old coils. Delighted, he shed his slumber like old snake skin and joined the celebration.

Suddenly, a boom roared above. He looked up, awestruck, as a shimmering lotus flower rained light over the crowd. It filled him with wonder and hope. If humans were capable of such marvels, maybe with their help the Unweaver, his old nemesis, could be defeated after all.

IT'S FANTASY FAIRE TIME! Or what I like to call, "the Super Bowl of virtual worlds." It's not to be missed!  This year the sim designers have outdone themselves, with stunning sim designs using PBR for new levels of realism. I feel like I'm inside a slick video game. And all for a good cause, raising money for The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This post was inspired by the Holi sim and Hindu mythology.    ...For the Holi Naga, I used the wonderful Pandora blue skin by Aki, Entu. It comes with dot tattoos and 2 stripe patterns for face and body. The ear texture is a free gift. Other blue and purple skins are available.   ...The intricate halo is a wearable prop by AIR. It comes with a modify hud.   ...The floating Orbs are by The Little Bat. They come in left and right, and both trigger a hold pose and animation. A texture hud lets you change its color.   ...The Sunscale Naga tattoo is by AERTH and comes with material shine applier, and textures to match the amazing Aii Sunscale Naga tail.   ...Speaking of, the Aii Sunscale snake tail (see in pictures below) is stunning! Easily the best Naga/Lamia tail in SL. Like all Aii products it had a wealth of texture options and ability to hide or show various parts. It has PBR and shimmers beautifully in the lights. The tail uses a clever combination of Leg bones and Tail bones to animate the tail. It comes with an AO hud to display and animate the tail properly.   ...Bonus, when I need a static tail, (shown below), I use the Lamia by deviousMind.   ...Additional fun tattoos for the face are by Star Quake with a forehead fade and eye makeup Dessen by Faeble.   ...The haunting eyes are Magici by Patrichor. These eyes replace your normal ones, and have several rig options to fit every humanoid head. The texture hud allows a crazy amount of options, from single color to fades, shadow, highlights, animations, pupil, iris, etc. It's a lot of fun to play with and perfect for all fantasy creatures.   ...{anc} has many of the best atmospheric effects, the Holi smoke clouds, confetti, and fireworks just more examples of excellent mood setters. I especially love the fireworks. It's a mesh object with animated textures. A steal of a deal if you ask me! And money goes to Relay for Life.

Like all Fallen God creations, the Holi is extremely detailed with much thought invested into it, personality, a strong theme, and it's fun to explore. As you explore, you may spot some NPCs that are part of the Holi Helping Hands region Hunt. To start, go to Houses of Color 1 and 2. Fantasy Faire 2017: The Fall of Morbus

STORYLINE: Farion the pixie wasn't too sure of his quest companion at first. The wizard was shifty looking. But they soon bonded over their shared skintone and joked, "Team Blue to the Rescue!" Turned out the guy was good at hunting ingredients for the spell they needed to save the Bard Queen and he was even able to brew it himself. (Only a few mishaps, nothing serious like the massive explosion when Farion last tried potions.) They were too busy slapping high-fives after defeating a giant winged demon that they failed to realize, "defeated" is not the same "gone." Unknown to them, a tiny hitchhiker joined their group.

The Fantasy Faire is fading into fond memories now. Fantasy Faire 2017: The Crow Tengu

STORYLINE: There once was a young Crow Tengu who was told by his parents to stay away from humans, (the Tengu were forbidden from interfering in human affairs). But he simply could not obey the rules. His heart belonged to a little girl with a laugh that sounded like the call of crows. Adorable. To him, she was one of them, even if she had no feathers. It all started one day when he was out scouting the mountain. Tucked deep in the forest by a babbling brook, was a small human nest. There was a sickly looking girl sitting outside alone. Being curious, he flew down and asked her what she was doing. She explained she was gravely ill and her parents were both working hard to earn enough money to treat her illness. He shook his feathers in confusion at the difficulties of human rituals, but before he could ask about it, a rain of questions showered down on him. Since he liked the attention, he told her stories about himself, his people, and their oral history. She hung on his every word. Her eyes, which seemed so dull before, now sparked with life. So each day he would fly back to his number one fan and tell her a new story. By the time fall came, she had made a full recovery and would return to school. The crows too were preparing to fly south for the winter. With a big hug, she thanked him for keeping her spirits up. He fluffed out his chest in pride, and then plucked out one of his feathers to give her, "Always remember me." He felt sad their storytime was ending. She laughed her adorable crow laugh, said it was impossible for her to ever forget him. ...Many years later she wrote a best selling children's book, "The Many Wild and Wonderful Tales of the Crow Tengu."

The Night Troops 2: Coup d'etat

STORYLINE: As the world hurled towards war, even the winds of change reached Vampire Society. Nobel Elder Maximilian Spyder plotted to overthrow his rival Horemheb. It was long past time to lead his people out of darkness. It took many hours at the negotiation table, but he finally signed a secret pack with the desperate Winston Churchill. The Army of the Night would protect England from a ground invasion, and the vanguard of the Night Troops would take out the Führer himself. In exchange, the Vampire Nation would be recognized as a sovereign entity by all Allied Nations. At last, they would have their own country. It was a dream about to be realized, and they would call their new capital city Cursed.

Today is my birthday, gang! Woo! I will tell you a secret, I don't watch much television but when I do it's usually World War 2 stuff. Recently I listened to Cursed Event's Axi Kurmin give a lecture on DieselPunk style. I was drooling so hard, and feeling inspired. I was jumping up and down when Cursed Event's Lokii Violet made the Clockwork Spiral sim DieselPunk. Each year this event steps up it game and challenges designers and shoppers to think outside of the box. A Clockwork Spiral also covers SteamPunk, and Dark Victorian. Money raised goes to the National Kidney Foundation. DieselPunk is a fantasy military style with elements of both world wars. It invents fanciful new machines. The Train Tank behind me by Kalopsia is a good example, a combination of tank and train. I love this TankTrain! I wear it like a pet! People give me compliments on it, well from those that I didn't flatten with it. lol You can pick it up at Uber. My other toy is the Souzou Eien Hand Gun available at a Clockwork Spiral. It comes with left and right hands. You can edit the size and tint it. Great fantasy weapon. The jacket and pants I am wearing are a new release WASD by VRSION. It has the theme of Little Red Ridding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, however this coat fits perfectly for an American military uniform with a vampire twist. It's fitted mesh too. The officer cap is by Death Row. The front plate can texture change a message, I picked a simple skull and cross bones. The black and red trimmed tunic is by Songbird at Clockwork Spiral. The donation item includes several colors. The Epia armband is something I have blogged a lot on the Cursed storylines. It's just so handy, I love being able to upload my own logo to it or tint it's colors.

STORYLINE: Many days passed as the Night Troops waited anxiously in their underground bunkers. At any moment they could get the signal to invade. To help rally the troops, Spyder's secret agent, vampire bombshell Lady Bug, posed provocatively on her big achievement, -- stealing the plans to the TrainTank.

I'm playing a robot for her, it's brilliant Fallen God's Oscar Avatar. She has a limited time to blog, but was a good sport to work with me on a style for this post and then allow me to log her account to photograph. I think the results are pretty cool. These boots, guys look how badass they are. House of Rain made DieselPunk boots with Art Deco boot jewelry Bats on them! They come in several colors so don't miss these! The boots are unisex, but I recommend smaller sized guys for them. Her a retro pinup hairdo is Bliensen + MaiTai's Diesel Hair. World Goth Fair: Dissension

STORYLINE: Not everyone loved the idea of humans and Darks intermingling for one day a year. The foremost critic of this new policy was none other than the creator of penal colony himself, Kaiser Kruel. Despite his protest, the event was moving forward so he sent out his righthand man to do his dirty work. Gin was delighted with the task. As fabulous as he looked, he was just as vicious. There was nothing Gin loved more than breaking wayward Darks who didn't appreciate the infinite wisdom of Kaiser Kruel.

Glamtastic Gin returns by request to rock fashions made for both guys and girls. The fun Madhatter hat with spider comes from Mitternacht outfit by the Avatar Bizarre. The jacket is Avatar Bizarre's Panzermensch. Gin is getting away with wearing the strappy pants for girls from Endorphin. And his boots are also for girls from the Little Bat's gacha Axi Boots. His Dracula half-rimmed glasses are by Eclectica. His fangs and fangs jewels are by [ni.Ju]. Gloves with materials by Fatewear. His favorite shirt is KC No.53 by Kyoko Couture, and skin Noctis by Tableau Vivant. STORYLINE: Mr. Snake makes one more formal appearance before retiring until the next time he is called to lead a year. Happy New Year Everyone! Get your lucky horse shoe out because on January 24th we start in the Year of the Horse.

Haunts of Halloween: The Undertaker

STORYLINE: The Undertaker had seen a lot of death. So much so he became obsessed with creating artificial life. He was fond of medical experiments on the dearly departed, and even believed if could capture memories of dead, photograph it if you will, then he could create a soul. But his dreams were impossible. He was quite mad.

Several things here from the current round of FaMeshed. The Tableau Vivant Beaumont hair is a sleek long rigged hair that is perfect for wearing under hat, or wearing prop like the Photographer's Eye by Remarkable Oblivion. Death Row has several fun things at FaMeshed like the face spider (soo creepy!), and fun top hat. The hat and spider are separate meshes, so I edited DaddyLongLegs a bit lower on the hat. The Pumpkin head is a fantastic group gift by Remarkable Oblivion and comes in 2 styles. The coat I am wearing is fun hunt prize by Absolutely Smitten for Men in the Sleepy Hallow hunt. You can't see it in this post, but I am wearing the perfect eyes for Halloween by Souzou Eien. They flicker like a candle in a pumpkin and really give you the feeling it's time for treat-or-treating. The shorts are Frozen Night's winter suit shorts for boys. This is a fun trick because the boy sized shorts work perfectly below a long coat with no poke out of the back! The system pants below them are from The Little Bat. The nail polish is a wearbable demo By Snow, and you pick up other colors if you want. Event News: Clockwork Spiral, part 1

The same people who brought you World Goth Fair, and Gothmas by Gaslight are back!  The Clockwork Spiral is a shopping and music event in the flavor of Steampunk, Diesel Punk, and Dark Victoriana to help raise money for the National Kidney Foundation. TODAY: Friday the 20th 8pm SL is the BIG Steampunk Party at the Club Gothika Airship in the sky. DJ Lokii Violet of MV will be rocking the house steampunk style, and there will be prizes for Best in Steampunk! Be there!  .... The next party is on Sunday, September 22 9pm SL and DJed by Pie Zipper of Avatar Bizarre and he'll be spinning mixture of darkness.

First let me tell you about the goodies at Clockwork Spiral in the image above are. I am wearing the new dreads hair that comes with touch color change for the goggles. The earrings are a part of the Soul set for men, I tinted them red to match the other piercings. The Military jacket I got on a Fifty Linden Friday. This style with start patch on the shoulder is not available now, but if you want the nice green duster, it's the main Deco store. The red and black eyeliner by Tableau Vivant is from the past Gallery Gift Shop hunt. The red pant, which I seem to be wearing a lot, are by The Little Bat and were on sale at World Goth Fair. World Goth Fair: The Scarlet Rebellion

STORYLINE: The Scarlet Rebellion rescued Little Black Hood from the Deathheads who were busy incinerating everything in the cave. She was brought before the Rebellion leaders. "I am Scarlet, this is Wrath, and Maximilian. We are delighted you have come to us. You are our hope, our messenge in a bottle. Please understand we are desperate people. We are not so different from you. We are your sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, daughters and sons. This place is not a paradise, it is a prison. We have done nothing to deserve this punishment. The mushroom you consumed was watered with powerful blood of our noble elder Maximilian. Wrath dropped it in the human world while on a scouting mission. We are the reason you are here. You are now both Human and Dark. Unlike everyone else, you may freely enter and exit Cursed at will. We will safely take you to the gates of Cursed. We ask for your forgiveness, and please tell the human world about us who are the lost and forgotten."

World Goth Fair: The Spooky Kids

STORYLINE: The denizens of Cursed swirled around Little Black Hood. She noticed two kids popping something glowing in the thier mouths. Being an aspring cook, she was curious to know what it was. As she got closer, she noticed the delicious smell was exactly like her new secret ingredient! The girl tilted her head and grinned at her. "You want some?" The girl suddenly grabbed her hand, and two strange teens lead her down to the entrance of a cave. Scary looking soliders in red were guarding it. "No, over here. This way!" The boy tugged on her and pointed to a hidden opening. When she landed inside, she gasped. The cave was a marvel bioluminescent plants and animals. "We don't know what the Scarlet Rebellion is up to, but damn these mushrooms are good!" The boy stole a few and tucked them into his backpack. The girl leaned in close, her strange eyes sparking with mischief. "The rumor is these mushrooms are fertilized with the Blood of the Ancients." Suddenly gunfire erupted into the cavern. "Oh shit! Run!" A bullet whizzed past her. Little Black ran deeper into the cave until she heard no more sounds and it was completely black. Now what would she do?

I am holding one of the two Awesome Oceania Angler plushies. Who doesn't love this lovely lady of the deep? So cute! On the shoulder of Ms Fulli is the limited edition Gaia Crimson Night.
