STORYLINE: Just as J and Guryong rounded the corner, they saw a woman racing towards them with dark tear stained cheeks. "Run! The Gears have gone haywire!" Behind her was a horde of Automatons and a rampaging Quad car smashing them under foot. They were chasing her. What in the Cogs was going on? Had all the machines of New London gone mad?
Sadly, there were so many more images I wanted to do for this series, but it comes down to what you can get done in time. This image was inspired by all the items I used from the Engine Room. I just loved the Camo Jules Dreads and wanted to build a character on that, and thus Olivia, one of two survivors of New London, was born. She is wearing the Steam Eques outfit and boots by Silvery K, the pink is a texture option in the fatpack. The robot smashing attack comes from the wonderfully wacky AG Quad Walker car. (It just looks like it wants to smash things!) It is a wearable vehicle with wonderful animations for the car and rider, and you can customize its colors. STORYLINE: Hovering high above the soot choked city was the Celestial Mafia’s headquarters.
Nothing happened in New London without Mob Boss K’s permission. K was ruthless, so it came as no surprise when his power was threatened, he immediately summoned his best Crew head.... "Thank you for coming quickly J, I have an urgent mission for you."
The ENGINE ROOM is back, and this round is truly amazing! For my posts this round I'm going to try to show as many things I as can, and challenge myself to do it in a comic book/manga-like style. It's been difficult, so I had to scale back my ambition some to not take too long. lol I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know if you like it. The first image was inspired the elegant Toksik Bibliotheca outfit, and sweet gothic steampunk background by The Eschaton. Also from the Engine Room is the fun animating Gyro that you can wear, and the eerie gold eyes by Hellbourne.
STORYLINE: The Weyland-Yutani Corporation was growing tired of the numerous disruptions to the Inter-Planetary Commerce around the Scheol Nebula. Yes, yes, they knew there were going to be occasional pirates, this was getting ridiculous. That's why they unleashed their own secret weapon, a marvelous miniature Synthetic creation, a Biomechanical Unicode Gynoid, or B.U.G. Its mission was to destroy the enemy ship's AI.
One of amazing creations at Necrotize this round is the Oomukade Centipede tail by Aii&Ego. It comes in Bento or Animesh, and a hud with many texture and color possibilities. Touch the tail to change its animations. Good for aliens, bugs, and youkai! Also shown on the upper chest, is the CL Joint implant by SOLE that can add an extra cyber touch to your outfits.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! This year has been a strange one, very fitting my "costume" this year is a cute Grey Alien by Hotdog at the Necrotize event. The Halloween goodies and gifts are by Circa, Schadenfreude, and Vespertine.
You guys remember the "Linden Home Challenge" I did for Prim Perfect magazine? I have some awesome news, the idea has sparked a great fundraiser event for this year's Home and Garden Expo, -- a Decorating Competition! The challenge is: Decorate one of 6 homes for prizes in 4 days, with less than 500 prims, and including 3 Relay for Life donation items from the Expo. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are determined by votes paid with Ls for the best designs. All the money from the home design votes goes to Relay for Life! You can read more about it here: decorating-competition. I love how this contest embodies the spirit of the event. Of course, I had to jump in, and I was lucky to get drawn to decorate a house, the Eco IV by Maven Homes.
STORYLINE: The owner is not actually an Astronaut, but people always refer to his house as the "Astronaut House." ("NASA Rover Engineer House" doesn't have the same ring to it.) The owner worked on the Mars Rover Curiosity team. All his family and baby pictures are of the rover! His new project is to design a people mover for the human mission to Mars in 2030. JPL is not too far from his home, so he loves to commute to work in an old 50s experimental Flying Platform.
STORYLINE: When facing a difficult design problem, he will often sit down to play music. It helps clear his mind of distractions to find a creative solution. STORYLINE: He inhaled deeply the smoke of the serpent pipe. As he exhaled, the snake at the tip hissed out smoke trails. He watched it lazily meander towards a nearby rockface. The pipe was a prized relic of the Kōmori clan. It was not of this world, it belonged to the spiritworld. It's smoke was being sucked toward a heavy spiritual presence nearby. There must be hidden cave. "Father," he smiled. "At last I found you." Once inside the cave, he discovered the massive fallen skeleton of his father, its batwings still stretched out, as if he might fly away at any moment. Beside it impaled in a pile of skulls, was the gleaming legendary katana of his father. Smoke swirled around it. The pulsing power emanating from the sword gave him goosebumps. He climbed up the pile of bones and lovingly withdrew his birthright. "Nightfang" he whispered to it as it were his lover, "So nice to meet you at last."
The idea of this post was inspired by one of my favorite animes. The pipe, tattoo, hairsticks, and pants you can find at Japonica. The Bento wings are part of the brand new Linden Labs Bento starter avatars, and the bento tail is by Murder of Ravens. The giant skeleton is part of the Cureless gacha at Epiphany.
STORYLINE: A mist rolled slowly into the sleeping village. Tomorrow would be a buzz of activity during the summer festival, but for tonight the air was calm with only an occasional cricket chirp, or croak of a lonely frog. Stalking silently in the tall grass was the Little Lion, protector of the village. It was hard work keeping the rats away so the big event would run smoothly, but quiet moments like this made it worth it for the tiny fierce hunter. She sprung up with ease on top of her favorite place, the rock water fountain in the garden. From her perch, the Little Lion surveyed her territory. Then smiled in her own catlike way for a job well done, and took a drink.

STORYLINE: Metal scraped against the cold stone tiles. The sound echoed in the atrium of the Blessed Virgin's Home for the Mentally Insane. The crazed chatter of the denizens, each locked carefully in their padded rooms, suddenly fell silent. It was so quiet, the soft pad of bare feet sauntering down the hall was audible. One daring old man peeked through a small crack in the doorframe. "Dr. Oliver Conray? he gasped. The scantly clad figure outside froze. "Oh, thank god it is you," the old man wiped the sweat from his brow. "I was worried something bad had happened to you. Say, uh...," he leaned in close to the door and whispered, "How about you help your old card playing buddy out? Let me outta here?" He smiled hopefully. The mute figure of Dr. Oliver Conray slowly turned towards the old man. His face was pale as death, eyes a souless inky black. The old man recoiled in horror. Dr. Oliver Conray raised his scythe high in the air, and with a mighty swish, the old man dropped dead to the ground.

Shown above are two of my favorites from this round, the Naberius collar by the talented & twisted Contraption/CerebusXing team, and this badass harness and skirt by Salt & Pepper. It comes in fits for several female mesh bodies but no males. I used Slink female mesh body on the male base shape to model this outfit, and wore the male Mort Vivant skin for slink by TableauVivant. Works great in the back, but sadly Slink female does not have a flat chest option for the front. (The male and female Slink bodies are being updated right now. I put in a request for a flat chest option.) (Another option for genderbendering your way into clothing not originally made for men is to use the Maitreya mesh body with the Boi chest mod you can find in the marketplace.) Also shown is this amazing Asylum build by Madpeas. It is HUGE. It needs a full or half sim to rez. The Scythe with inlay is by Swagga from a past Totally Top Shelf. The Edward hair by Tableau Vivant is on sale at The Men's Department. It includes a fit for default head and TMP head.

STORYLINE: Drip, drip, drip. The passage of time was like the steady drip of water into his tomb. The Temple of the Moon had long since been forgotten. Thick jungle vines covered it's secret entrance. Unknown to him, the legend of the Feathered Serpent had become something he would barely recognize. He remembered the frantic prayers of the lake people. They called him Quetzalcoatl and begged him to strike down the false god, Cortez. But still he slept. Meddling in the affairs of humans is how he came to be in this cursed sleep. ...However, today was different. Cautious footsteps of a trespasser echoed in his maze. Trap after trap was sprung. He chuckled to himself. He had created many delicious ways for fools to die. There was a loud bang followed by a sharp metal swish. The scent of blood wafted in the damp air. He licked his parched lips. Had it been 4000 years since he last drank blood? He felt sad his entertainment was over. Wait. His eyes snapped opened. The steps were continuing. This could be no human. Who dared to invade his lair?! Need a good scare for Halloween? Try the many ways to die in Madpea's wildly beloved game, Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior. The game is ending soon! STORYLINE: The little white fox stared at what seemed to him to be a very steep stone step. He hopped up then he turned around to pull his tiny vendor cart behind him. He repeated this process until he finally reached the summer festival grounds. It wasn't easy being small, but for his struggle he was richly rewarded in hugs and sales from girls in their pretty kimonos. He sighed. At moments like this, he questioned his choice of profession. Life would be easier to remain a little fox, but duty called.
