Expo Contest House #2: Astronaut House by Devin Vaughn

You guys remember the "Linden Home Challenge" I did for Prim Perfect magazine? I have some awesome news, the idea has sparked a great fundraiser event for this year's Home and Garden Expo, -- a Decorating Competition! The challenge is: Decorate one of 6 homes for prizes in 4 days, with less than 500 prims, and including 3 Relay for Life donation items from the Expo. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are determined by votes paid with Ls for the best designs. All the money from the home design votes goes to Relay for Life! You can read more about it here: decorating-competition. I love how this contest embodies the spirit of the event. Of course, I had to jump in, and I was lucky to get drawn to decorate a house, the Eco IV by Maven Homes.

STORYLINE: The owner is not actually an Astronaut, but people always refer to his house as the "Astronaut House." ("NASA Rover Engineer House" doesn't have the same ring to it.) The owner worked on the Mars Rover Curiosity team. All his family and baby pictures are of the rover! His new project is to design a people mover for the human mission to Mars in 2030.  JPL is not too far from his home, so he loves to commute to work in an old 50s experimental Flying Platform.

STORYLINE: ...But it's not all work with him; on the weekends he throws pizza parties. His wood oven baked pizzas made with fresh herbs are so popular, he even sells them on the side as "Space Pizza." (His parties have a mascot, "Pizza Rat" that seems to always elude the fat neighborhood cat, Luna. Even birds aren't scared of her, they often land on her back for a free ride. And his dog Cosmo is forever looking outside for a rare sighting of the mysterious Pizza Rat).

A Strange Occurrence On the Galactic Frontier, 2

STORYLINE: The alarm had been triggered by an unknown alien artifact. Oucie suited up and went outside to investigate. To his surprise, he discovered the object was a lifepod and it was not empty either. Sleeping inside, with arms crossed over it's chest, was a majestic looking pale alien. A deep blue blush stung Oucie's cheeks. He had no doubt discovered a rare treasure. He immediately took it back to the moonbase. His pet jellyfish, Twinkles, flashed angry colors at him the second he brought the pod indoors. Oucie had never seen his pet so upset before. He shrugged it off as jealousy. Afterall, for three years, Twinkles had been the only friend he had. And in all those  years, nothing this exciting had happened before. He turned his attention once more to the sleeping alien. He had so many questions. There was something about it.... Then finally he couldn't stand anymore, he begin to touch the dials on the side of the pod. Twinkles circled around him frantically flashing red over and over again. He ignored Twinkles. There had to be someway to revive the alien. 

Today I have more goodies from the Multiverse to show you. First, you guys will love these brilliant Mech Arms by Swagga. The skin texture comes with brows, no brows, face tattoo and no face tattoo. The tattoo can also be applied separately if you want to wear another skin. From The Nebulae is the Domain Belt. Its a non-rigged attachment you can adjust for a good fit. From We <3 Roleplay, is the Neck Belt by Gabriel. It comes with a fit for Default and TMP. Also at WLRP are new mesh fangs by Axix! They come with a hud to change the texture for things like human blood or unicorn blood. lol And even gap tooth, or normal. From The Men's Department is the new Backblown Hair by Tableau Vivant. This awesome tattoo is from the Fallen Gods Golem gacha, it includes appliers such as TMP and Omega. The face piercings you can find in 2nd store section of Haus of Darcy. The Yasum pants come with a hud to change textures. They are unisex with male and female fits, but you will need to edit your shape the best fit. The Vampire ears are by Trap. Brow applier by Clef de Peau, and Makeup by Aii. The brilliant Metatron wings and halo are by Nerox. Each part is animated and gives very cool effect for your cyber outfits. (see animation below)

STORYLINE: What happened next was a haze. Oucie lay helpless on the floor in a pool of his own blue toned blood. The creature had attacked him. It had strange powers. He understood now the alien was a Parasitic lifeform, and he just stupidly released it from its prison. As darkness threatened to overtake him once more, he whispered a prayer for forgiveness.  (For the next part of this continuing story from The Multiverse, head to Aarya's Dark Phantom blog.)

STORYLINE: Oucei lived alone in a guardpost on the outer rim of the galaxy. His only companion was his pet jellyfish Twinkles. Sometimes when staring into the stark black sky, Oucei wondered how his color changing pet felt about being enclosed in a glass bubble for years. Sure, Twinkles could steer his bubble around, but wouldn't he rather swim freely in the gentle glowing waves of his home spawning waters? That sounded nice, Oucei sighed. He missed the sound of water the most. Nothing exciting happened on this distant lifeless moon. But he had no sooner wished for drama when suddenly he was jarred by screeching alarm sirens.

The Multiverse is an Sci-Fi events for all the avatars of Second Life whether their idea of Sci-Fi is space opera, cyberpunk, retro scifi, or dystopian, there's something for everyone. This year's event is organized by Mirajai Maven of BluPrintz, and landscaped by sohma Dix of Papermoon. Shown above are the futuristic Medusa Collar, Olympus tee and vest by Titzuki. The tee comes in black, blue, lilac, nude or white with fits for male, female, and even femboy! The collar and the vest are semi transparent with a glowing edge like fiber optics. It comes in 5 choices, and the fatpack include bonus colors. By Anachron is the DataBracer Wrist Mounted Server. When worn it triggers a pose for looking at the popup display. You can get it in white, black, grey, pink, hacker, or kawaii texture themes. The hud will can change the animated computer display screens, trigger poses for popping open and looking at the screen, typing, and also to change the color of the display. The pet jellyfish ufo is from the BluPrintz Humanitys Arc gacha. He slowly changes color over time. Touch it and a little jet effect will trigger. Also from the Humanity Arc gacha, is the Ark Computer in the background. Behind that is the Star Chart by BluePrintz. It can be worn on the wrist to rezzed for decor. From We <3 Roleplay is the wonderful Hand Stitched Leather Leggings by Lassitude & ennui. It looks like mesh clothing but is actually an applier. Clever. it works perfectly with the outfit.  From DarkendStare are 3 fun pieces for my alien boy from the Celestial Dragon gacha. The very cool glowing tattoo is the Water Golem by Fallen Gods, on the Pure Water skin also by Fallen Gods. Finishing Oucei's look is the Nekoto hair by Ayashi pastels pack with the perfect green color. The hud includes option to show or hide the nekp ears. You guys like this setting? NEWS YOU CAN USE: Low Land Impact Mesh Chairs

Over on plurk, we have a Linden Home makeover challenge going on. Also I am searching for pieces from my inventory that might be useful for the mini version of RMK Gothic (coming soon!) The purpose of this post is useful information. It's no frills raw images taken without advanced lighting and shadows with CalWL windlight on a 50% grey background. NOTE: My inventory does not reflect all the content that is available in SL, these are things I have picked up along the way from shopping, gachas, blogging, hunts, and gifts. I have lovely chairs that go beyond 3 LI but since I am looking for Low Impact awesomeness, I will be only showing those.

Now we are at three times the details, and these sets of 3 LI chairs really show put those LIs to good use. Wonderful creations! Note, the Angelic chair used is the Low LOD version but it passed my distance test just fine. On the Mission chair I removed the bonus  pillows, they are not linked to the main chair. And dial M chair is cleverly disguised to barely look like a chair at all!

And here's the end of my collection of low impact chairs. I debated about including the last chair on the right because after I got it, I discovered it was ripped from the video game Duke Nukem. BUT since this is an educational post, I included it in a big red box for "NO!" to let you know this chair is stolen content. I don't think the designer who used it knew it was ripped, so I won't include their name. Just stir clear of this chair if you see it.
