Midnight Order: The White Knight

STORYLINE: No sooner I had spoke into my recorder, “Reporter for Midnight Magazine here,” then I sensed a displeasurable aura coming my way. The Predator of Predators flopped down in a chair in front of me in a whirlwind of thunder and thinly veiled contempt. I cheerfully offered my hand, “It’s an honor to meet the Legend of the Hunter Society.”

He refused my hand, and scoffed at my recording equipment. “Is that really necessary? I have nothing to say to your blood soaked readers. I’m not here by choice.”

“Yes, I’ve heard the King has some kind of sway over you,” I thrust my recorder in his face. “Care to explain what it is?” He smacked my hand away with such violence, my poor little device was buried deep in the wall. “My my… aren’t you the scary one.”

He stood up as if to say, this interview is over, but he paused by the door and asked, “I have no idea why you vampires… are interested in me.”

I leaned back and smugly regarded him. Got ya. “As strange as it sounds, you do have a fan club. Let’s just say, for the undead its a fantasy to be killed, and then by someone as beautiful and powerful as yourself... Well, you’re quite the dreamboat."

His lips curled up in disgust, revealing his own sharp fangs. “Vampires…,” he hissed unironically. “I do the world a favor annihilating you perverse vermin.”

Behind me, Lillian, from the makeup department, swooned at his dangerous growl and fainted right on the spot. Despite his menacing words, the Underworld’s Lancelot was very much the knight in shiny armor. He moved so quickly, he caught her before she hit the ground.

I quickly snapped a tantalizing shot of this accidental embrace. It was perfect for the editorial section! Oh yes, this next issue is going to sell out fast. Of course, Midnight Magazine wanted the world's only Elder Slayer for our July cover model. Lucky for us, the King ordered him to appear as a bit of positive public relations for his newly formed Camelot of the Night. Surely it was some kind of punishment for the White Knight’s misdeeds.

I smiled brightly at him, “Midnight Magazine has a wonderful photoshoot setup just for you. A romanic scene of thorns and roses. I’m sure you will hate every minute of it!”

Midnight Order is back bringing you some much needed Darkness in the blistering heat of summer. This image was inspired by Gothic Window by Schadenfreude, Valentine gloves by Cubic Cherry, Skellybones Tyrant Torch, and Wicca Liuva boots, -- all awesome items at the current round of Midnight Order. I have been feeling nostalgic lately, like wanting to get back to the original idea for my avatar when I first joined SecondLife. I'm very into vampire stories. Back in 2011, I had just seen the dark fantasy anime Vampire Knight. I really identified with the long suffering Zero. I bounced between several looks for avatar, but white hair and purple eyes just felt like home, so it became my main look. The VK story itself was loosely inspired the tales of King Arthur. So I'm putting my own spin on things with the idea of vampire magazine article, Camelot Exposed! 

Ok, so first, in the unholy Lancelot makeover is the hair by Ginko. Its something I might wear forever. Its gorgeous. Comes in male and female fits. I love me some slutty boots, so when I saw Wicca's Liuva boots had male fits, I knew I needed to feature them! They come with a hud to change the colors.  The Valentine gloves work perfectly with Wicca boots and the fatpack comes with a lot of great texture options. I added the Nunna Klei tattoo for extra glam spark. Can we speak about that beautiful Axe by Skellybones? Wow. Just awesome. It comes with 4 hold poses and a texture hud. The Gothic Window by Schadenfreude makes my gothic loving heart sing. Its lovely, and has many color options. There is also a version with a stained glass texture, and a coffee table with a stained glass shadow!

The Engine Room: Wrath of the Dolls

STORYLINE: Neither Belladonna or Rose Kuro spoke. It was impossible with their artificial porcelain doll bodies. They rarely moved, and expressed themselves only with music. Even the coldest vampire's heart would weep from their heart wrenching cello performances. If the twins were angry at their creator, no one knew. He had been a kindly old vampire who adored them in life and rescued them from certain death. A jealous rival had brutally attacked them and left them for dead. The vampire held their broken bodies and wailed. His tears of blood raining down on them preventing them from passing quietly into death. You see, their creation had been an accident. Not knowing what else to do, he merged them with doll bodies and tended them for years, hoping one day they would revive and play music once more. Thanks to his tireless efforts and years of tender care, they did. And it was not long after the twins joined the Vampire Ballet that their mentor disappeared. Nervous members of the troop whispered he had been attacked by vampire hunters. Hearing this, the twins stirred from their stupor. One grabbed a scythe, the other a gun. No one stopped them. They gasped as these awkward stumbling dolls exited the theater into a dark ominous storm.

Engine Room: Revenge of the Machines

STORYLINE: The Black Baron had spent years developing a wondrous steam powered android. But tragedy struck when he was paralyzed in a Zeppelin crash. He planned to remove the android head and attach his own to the golden mechanical body. However learning of his plan, the "wondrous creation" had other ideas and loped his master's head off first. 

On the last day of the Engine Room, Contraption dropped an awesome new item, the Thibaut Waistcoat for 25% off. I only discovered the sale late night and tried to get this posted to alert you guys. If you missed it, don't worry, it will be at mainstore now. Fortunately, in my rush to get this image is out, actually had a set ready to go. Lucky turn of events! (It was an idea I had while my computer was down.) Here are some badass items from the 2nd round of Engine Room. The next round will be in September.

This amazing robot head is by Wicca Originals, it comes in sizes for men and women and robust texture hud to change out its many textures zones. The Ear gramophone comes with it and is separate from the head. On the table is the Skeletal Globe Lamp by Schadenfreude. It comes in several base texture, and includes light options.

Japonica: Year of the Rat

STORYTELLING: A white rat named Itchy and his many siblings, were cold and hungry. There was nothing to eat. Winter could be brutal on tiny creatures. Lucky for them, they were clever rodent-kind! Suddenly, Itchy stood up tall, whiskers twitching. Music! He faced the direction of the wonderful melody. Oh, there was delicious food that way too! He flicked his skinny rat tail as if to say, "This way!," and raced over snow-covered branches and squeezed through tight spaces until the beautiful human home of warmth, music, and food opened before him and his brethren. They were so happy. The humans must have been happy to see them too, since the female screeched, and did a dance with her arms in the air, hopping left and right. Itchy snickered. Humans were strange. He darted across the matt, scurried up a small table, and lifted a ripe orange in his paws. He felt grateful to the humans, so before he left with his ill-gotten goods, he waved a paw back to the humans. It was his way of saying, Thanks.

Gothical: A Taste of October

STORYLINE: When the leaves change color, the sun dips lower, and the harvest is all gathered, it means only one thing to Little Bunny, -- Princess Layla's annual "A Taste of October" party! Her fluffy cotton tail perked up as she hopped all the way to dark gothic castle that loomed over the otherwise sunny town. Yes, Princess Layla was mysterious. No one had ever seen her leave the castle, not even to stroll the castle gardens, but Bunny paid no attention to that. She loved dressing up for the formal party and eating all the delicious food! The Princess was a very gracious host. Bunny was almost drooling by the time she knocked on the giant arched doors of Castle Hart. ...Who knows, maybe this year, the Princess would notice her!

The second round of Gothical has begun. I dearly love Elegant Gothic Lolita, and Elegant Gothic Aristocrat styles. As an Alum from RMK Gothic events, I'm delighted to see this genre, which is dear to my heart, return to SL. Summerfest 2019: The Vampire Pool Party

STORYLINE: Summer is a time for going to the beach, splashing in the surf, and soaking in the sun. But what about the creatures of the night? Are they doomed to never experience the joys of summer?  Well down on the Moonset Strip at a little club called the Rockabilly Rox, the vampires are throwing a hell of a pool party. The speakers are blasting, coffins and headstones lined in neon, beach balls bouncing everywhere, and over at the dance floor the Nosferatu are splashing around happily in inflatable pools filled with suspicious looking red liquids. Who says only humans get to enjoy summer?

Summerfest is close to an end, but forget to grab the the fun-gear for your Summer. The image above was inspired by Schadenfreude's fun inflatable pool, bat wing inner tubes and floating drink holders. All them come with a hud to change the colors combinations in many ways, and their materials catch a perfect plasticky look in the light. The floating drink holder and ring, will slowly turn on the water for a realistic floating effect. The inner tube also comes in a Vehicle version, so you can race around and terrorize your neighbors in your own floating batmobile. There is a wearable ring, and floating ring and inner tube both have poses  build into them. The skull shaped inflatable pool can change its colors and even do a sugar skull texture versions. And you can change the water color from white, blue, pink, toxic green or of course red.  On the floor are beautiful Triton beach towels with poses from Balaclava.  From S16B, I picked up the cool Tootime club skybox by Anxiety for 30% off. Also from Anxiety are the neon gravestone group gift, and the neon coffin from the Cult gacha. The finishing touch of neon wireframe palm trees are from Foxcity.

STORYLINE: The heavy wooden doors groaned open as the Rockstar bursted into the castle's main hall. His boots left dark footprints on the dusty stone surface. "I love it! I must have it! All of it. Don't change a thing!" He ran like a giddy child and flopped down on a cobweb covered Louis XVI couch. A cloud of dust flew up making the old man cough. "It's perfect for my next video," he licked his lips. "Wine, roses, and an orgy of flesh." The old man shuddered as if a cold wind had just blow down the dark stone hall. The rockstar's pleasant demeanor suddenly dropped, "You think me a monster, Monsieur Gustave? It's simple, I like what I like, and I will have it. No tale of a curse will dissuade me."

Guys, have you been to the winter round of ROMP? It's the most amazing round so far! It ends Thursday, 6pm. If you haven't blown your paycheck there yet, do not miss it. The Toy Maker

STORYLINE: Nicoli All-Seeing had a problem. One year had passed since the Goodwill Killer struck London. Those who helped the unfortunate had their life sucked away. Now there were not enough toys to give the orphans, and christmas was tomorrow. A feeling of hopeless begun to overtake Nicoli. None of his assurances that the Goodwill Killer had been caught seemed to matter. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. The strange young man named Elfie shook the ancient immortal's hand furiously as his eyes sparkled wildly with glee. He claimed he was Nicoli's biggest fan and asked for his autograph. Elfie produced a small wooden toy from his bag for him to sign. Nicoli turned it over and remarked how wonderfully the toy was made. Elfie grinned proudly and told him he was a toy maker; Nothing made him happier than to see a child smile.  Nicoli got an idea. "Elfie, I know this short notice, but can you help me make 25 toys for the St. Mary's in time for Christmas?" Elfie didn't give it a moment's thought. "Yes, of course! I have lots of toys! I would be delighted to help!"

Revenge of the SeaWitch, 2

STORYLINE: This is a special place. It belonged King Triton's youngest daughter. She was dear to me. To honor her memory I have kept this place exactly as it was. .... Her story began when an object from the world above fell at the entrance of her home. She was curious and wondered at it's purpose. Another object fell, and then another. Each object leading her further and further away. She realized they were falling from a ship above. She was forbidden to go to the surface, but it swam up to it anyway. She knew something was wrong. Her first sight at the surface was lightning streaking across an angry purple sky. She was terrified. The ship in the distance lurched wildly in the waves. A young man was swept overboard. His arms and legs were thrashing wildly. He was drowning. His panicked eyes locked on her, screaming at her to save him. A jolt raced up and down her spine. Her heart began race. He did not belong in her world, he could not breath in the water. He was dying. She had to help. She used all her strength to pull him up where he could breath air. She fought the waves until she came upon a sandy beach. A beautiful woman at the shoreline screamed and darted into the water towards them. The mermaid was scared of being beached on the land. She didn't belong there any more then young man belonged in the sea. She averted her eyes and handed the unconscious man to her and swam away as quickly as she could. 

Enchantment's rebirth was a great success! I look forward to seeing what fairy tale will be in the next round. The Little Mermaid theme items are moving into their home mainstores locations. The mermaids have been such fun to spend time with, and I would like to continue this story. I hope you enjoy the journey. Shown above is the aisling Calypso headress that comes with a hud to change the textures and colors. Also, by aisling are the Caly's baby eels. They have a hud to hide left or right and change colors. The fun Gills on the neck and headfins are by Soul. The headfins you can adjust to fit, and the gills are rigged. Both come with a hud to change the texture and have a second layer for tattoo effects. The skin by Fallen Gods Oceanica Still Eclipse comes with many appliers, including the ones I used for the The Mesh Project head and body. The Trident by CerberusXing comes in handheld and back staff versions. The mermaid eyes are by Antielle and come in several colors. The tentacle belt and arm wraps are by BluPrintz. It comes with a hud to control base color, highlights, and suction cup colors. The nipple rings are by Haus of Darcy. Right now if you are member of the H.O.D. The corset for guys is by Schadenfreude. it comes with 3 black texture patterns. The gloves are by Swagga. They are non-rigged and mod so you tint and scale them for a good fit. The Beck hair by Tableau Vivant worked perfectly with the headress, and I used the TV hair base applier for the TMP head. From Aii is the cool eyeliner and mole applier for the TMP head. Most mermaid poses are for girls, so I made a more manly mer style pose for this image.

STORYLINE: She couldn't take her mind off the young man. His eyes haunted her. Would he be ok? She wanted to see him again. She had so many questions about him, and about the world on the surface. She couldn't help but wonder what life would be like with him as a husband. When she arrived back home the SeaWitch was waiting for her. "You look unhappy, my poor child. Surely it's not a problem I couldn't help you solve," she grinned like a shark who caught a fish.

Shown above are many awesome decor items that came together to create what feels like to me, a teenage mermaid's bedroom. I used in both images the Odyssey's temple and pearl lights by Fallen Gods from this year's Fantasy Faire. The MeadowWorks octopus, seaweed, and fish schools are also from a gacha at Fantasy Faire, but now you can play it at the mainstore. I love this gacha! Another great gacha is by DeviousMind, the seahorse wearable rider. I used it for room decor. The couch, armchair, and bed are by Zerkalo. It comes in pg or adult. The Ursula plushie on the couch is by Moon Amore, its animated. The seashells are by Plastik and have a color change hud. The paintings on the backwall and canvases on the ground are by Jian. They are inspiration for the whole color theme. Beautiful colors. From A Tattered Page's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea are the jellyfish by Spyralle, and the Dugong by The Muses. It's actually an avatar but I turned it into a sculpture. Overall this room is just stunning. Beautiful work from all the designers.
