Fender Fangs: Gang War

STORYLINE: The sun was rising as Darren Darkfire kicked his beloved motorcycle, Infection, into its highest gear thanks to a few drops of his blood. As he raced down the highway sounding like an angry swarm of bees shot straight out of hell, he didn't notice the vampires hiding the shadows watching him. Darren was the youngest member ever admitted into the Fender Fang gang thanks to his experimental bio-mechanical motorcycle. Many believed his invention would give the Fender Fangs an edge in the next Immortal 500 race.  But we may never know.... Just as the sun's rays peeked above the horizon, he was ambushed by rival gang Nightrik, and taken prisoner.

ROMP returns to spice up the last fleeting days of summer.  Shown above from ROMP is the jock by Thirst fitted to Niramyth, Signature, and Bellazza male mesh bodies, and the hand pose triggering Gajug Kalla collar by AsteroidBox. From a past ROMP is the Mars Harness by Salt & Pepper. These items gave me the idea to try biker theme, and bring back the Fender Fang storyline. Adding to the theme is the Slasher leather jacket by Lapointe & Bastchild. It comes with several fits for mesh bodies, and a hud to change its textures and turn the t-shirt on or off. The Infection motorcycle is the rare from past TMD gacha by Sau. Besides looking icky, it even says super creepy things in local chat like "....help me..."  The gloves are an applier for Niramyth by 4Skin, and include several color options, and the claws Niramyth Bento hands are by Gorgeous Dolls. They work like charm and have lots of options for textures and individual nail colors. Darren is wearing the stunning rare gacha Bento male head from Genesis Labs. The head comes with a crazy amount of options like: eye makeups, tattoos, camouflage, bruises, scratches, blood, braces, tongue piercing, fangs, expression poses and animations. Skin textures are gachas separate from the head.

STORYLINE: It was an insatiable thirst that brought the first wave of Space Vampires to the Earth. Despite the many tasty morals he could choose from, the outlaw from Planet Transexual quickly grew bored of humans. Dr. Frank-N-Furter needed something far more tantalizing to sate his hunger. So he collected bits and pieces of the best parts of human DNA to recombine into what he considered, the ultimate man. And he named his golden creation Rocky Horror.

The Ketsueki Oni

STORYLINE: Suddenly the crowd of villagers gathered around the Hammer Game parted. The towering Ketsueki Oni stepped forward. In a deep intimidating voice he called out to the Kitsune Twins. "You two may have fooled all these feeble minded humans, but your tricks do not work on me." The Twins smiled, Surely the Ketsueki Oni would prove to be the strongest of all! Their Sensei would be so impressed by their plan. The Oni glared at them. "What is the fabulous prize you promise? There is nothing you trickers can offer that I would have. However, I will do your contest on one condition, the prize goes to the owner of this club," he pointed the tiny toy kanabo club at them. The Kitsune twins blinked. A child's toy? Surely this strong Oni wouldn't use something so ridiculous looking. But they shrugged it off. Their mission was only to find the strongest man of the village, it didn't matter to them who got the prize, or what tool was used. They agreed. Then with a mighty swing of the toy club, the Ketsueki Oni not only shot up the heavy fireball and sparked all the fireworks, he broke the game itself and the toy club.

STORYLINE: Flamma was a legend in Rome. Originally a captured soldier from Syria, he was given a choice: be a slave and fight in the coliseum, or be free and executed. The Flame had a taste for battle. He fought 34 times and won all but 4 matches in a draw. The highest honor a gladiator can achieve is their freedom. He had won it long ago, but choose to keep fighting. 

Did you guys give a nice Roman Thumbs-Up for the Secret Affair's Gladiator round?  Yes, yes, so much excellence. Shown above to the right is the Stony Hollow Potter's Tent by Artisan Fantasy. STORYLINE: The senate was testing Caesar's patience. He commanded the ringleader of the troublemakers, Marcus Vinicius, to leave immediately on an "important" diplomatic trip to Egypt. The ornery senator refused to go unless his favorite gladiator, Flamma, served as his personal guard. Neither the stubborn senator, or the famed gladiator suspected the Emperor was sending them into a trap.

I love these armors by Lab737. I used it for my gladitor but it can easily work on post apocalyptic too! They are mod so edited them to fit on the Niramyth upper body. Yes, I did a frankenbody, but that was because of the various fits to each piece. It actually came together reasonably well, but it's not perfect, there is a slight gap where TMP body meets the Slink foot, and the Niramyth neck with the TMP head. But hey, I'm happy I could pull this off! The Roman Sandals by Death Row are sized to fit slink. The Roman Bottom by The Body Factory had no problem fitting the seam at the TMP lower and Niramyth upper. The Laus Store gacha hip armor is mod so I sized it to fit. The PFC Hoplite cape I need to rez on the ground because it bent oddly when worn in this pose. By the way, I made that pose for this post. It's been a long time, I'm a little rusty. I want to give a big thanks to Zee, of store Oxi, for making a Gladius sword for me for this post. Thanks Zee! The spear staff and shield are by May Soul. The spear and dagger racks are by Death Row. The Chariot, also by Death Row, comes in clean and bloody, pg and adult poses. Veni, vidi, vici!

Headhunters of Danger Island

STORYLINE: Every year vacationers flock to the South Pacific to relax among the swaying palm trees and crashing waves on white sand beaches. But not every island relishes tourists. Islands like "Danger" got their name by honest means. The natives of Danger Island would rather stick a head on a pole than a little parasol in a Pineapple Daiquiri. Some places just aren't worth loosing your head over. 

The Arena is back! For those new to The Arena, it's A Male Only Fantasy Event produced by the same folks behind the wonderful Fantasy Gacha. There are lots of cool new original fantasy creations just for the guys, don't miss it!  Shown above is the Headhunter kit by Swagga. It comes with a cool claw necklace and shrunken skulls back staff. The kilt is also by Swagga, The Outworlder Wrap. It comes in sizes for the default avatar and The Mesh Project. It was not problem getting it to fit the Niramyth Aesthetic mesh body. The Bone chair throne is by  Pucca Firecaster. The Awkward hair by Magika is a style that can totally work on a guy. Oh, by the way, Notice anything new? *flexes muscles*

I got a new toy, the Niramyth Aesthetic Mesh body. It's available as a trial until the full release some time in the future. It's fitted mesh, comes with a matching head, 2 skin tones (for mesh and default avatar), a skin tint hud with alphas for the body, a mocap AO, eyes, several hand pose options, body and face hair options, and clothing layer jeans and tank tops with a bonus developer kit for tattoo and clothing. It will take Omega appliers for clothing but not skin since Niramyth has a different UV map then the default avatar. You can detach the upper or lower parts to fit regular clothing, and there are mesh clothing items coming out that are shaped to fit it's body. There is no demo since it's still under development. Updates will be send to all who buy the trial.  ... Another interesting thing I found is tattoos can be full bright and glow. Nails can be tinted darker. The skin has materials to enhance the veins and texture. It's a beautifully created mesh body with attention to detail and realism. I do have one complaint however, the skin. It's amazingly detailed but has a flaw of excessive contrast, imho. (by that I mean the shadow areas are too dark and it creates a "dirty" look especially sides of the torso and on the lower legs which are much darker then the upper body). I found adding a tint to the body helps tone down the brightness of the highlights. That means best looking skintones start at medium and go darker. Fantasy colors really look great. But sadly, there are no possibilities for vampire or an undead look, its just too dark for that. However, the good news is there will be skin add-ons you can buy in the future, and even new mesh heads. (I hope there will be 3rd party skin appliers too.) To get my Tableau Vivant skin to match the Niramyth body I used a lot of fancy tricks like: tinting the mesh body darker, adding to the face tattoo shadow, a tattoo skin tint, eye makup, and then highlights for the face and lips. ... Also, You can wear the The Mesh Project Head with the Niramyth body, however I found it far more difficult to match the skins between the head and body.

While chatting on plurk, pose maker Olaenka wondered how the different male bodies would pose. So I did a pose test. Shown above are straight no-frills screen caps of my character in: the Default male, The Mesh Project male, and the Niramyth male. The Circus Contortionist poses for the pose test are provided by oOo Studio.

UPDATE: I emailed the designer of Niramyth Aesthetic Mesh body with some questions. Here are his replies:

1) Will there be 3rd party skin appliers? 

    We are trying to finished up the system of the first version body (Enzo and Smith) then we will provide the "complete" devkit for HD-skin (HD-skin is what we call our skin template) for skin designers and modders to work on skin appliers for our bodies. We are going to make normal size body with less muscularity look and they all will share the same skin template as the current version body.

2) Or will there be a pale option for vampire/undead/japanese style? (and how long is the wait?)

    That could be possible. If the body is finished then the extra skins will not take long. I think I can make that in a week or couple weeks (after the devkit is finished) but it will not be only me to be able to make it.

3) Will new mesh heads include expressions? (Men desperately need an expressive male mesh head.)

    That could be possible as well but it will need little more time to develop it and it will not be a free update because it is a completely new story than the mesh body.
