STORYLINE: Kaiser Kruel had no use for a vehicle, mechanic, or teammate. He was one of the most ancient of the vampire world. One does not survive long being a fool. He was as crafty as he was powerful. It was him who donated "The most fabulous object of the underworld" as a prize. He had no intention of loosing it. His true goal was to eliminate the most ambitious vampires that threaten his power. He successfully turned the strongest against each other, then sailed to a easy victory to reclaim his treasure, The Heart of Aten. He didn't even break a claw. It was good to be the Ruler.

MeshedUp released this fun Beetle Couch for Level Up a few days ago. It has wheels and hotrod skulls and flames on the side. It comes with poses for guys, girls, and couples. These nice tweed pants with historical style double button fly are from Junbug.  You can pick it up in several different color, and also the matching shirt and best. Today is also the last day you can pick it up on sale at Men's Department. The long stem cigarette is by The SeaHole. The furcoat I love to death and wear often is by Curio Obscura. The bear Claws I reposition for Slink, they are by Glitz. This pose is by Hot Dive and I used it with the chair. And my lovely Trophy I won at a Fox Hunt at the horse and rider sim HHVET. New sim HHVET Victorianaopened recently, if you want to ride horses, go check it out. There often games and activities going on, plus it's a good excuse to break out your fancy Victorian threads. The Immortal 500: The Warring Twins

STORYLINE: Team Kawaii had no enemies. They were two adorable twins racing their adorable, albeit slow, kawaii candy cars. Ahead of them in the race, other vampires battled ferociously. Team after team was knocked out of the race in the most gruesome way possible. The twins just giggled as they drove over wreckage. It was a classic example of The Turtle vs The Hare. But each twin had a secret; they didn't want the mysterious prize for themselves. They thought if they won the race, they could turn around and win their crushes' love by offering them the prize. As the twins neared the homestretch, one of them announced how happy her future husband would be that she won this fabulous prize for him! Her twin screeched to a stop and demanded to know who exactly she was talking about. Ironically both girls had the same idea, but they had 'shipped themselves with a different racer. One was Team Dev, and the other Team Nos. Things got nasty fast as they slapped, bit, and pulled each other's hair. They were so consumed in their battle over who was the cutest vampire racer ever, they didn't notice a dark shadow slip soundless past them.

How cute are all these goodies? On the left Twin Princess is wearing the cute racing theme exclusive dress by katat0nik, and matching hair bow. Each of the dresses have a theme and the bows match. Colors and themes are red/blue/heart, green/blue/star, pink/yellow/crown, and yellow/orange/daisy. To go with the princess theme, she is also wearing the gold crown by BluePrintz, and star pet. The star bob up and down, it's expressions can change, and a fading glow effect can be trigged. Her orange SpeedRacer helmet is by Geek. Her hair the new release Bonya hair by Ayashi, and be sure to pick up the cute star necklace group gift from Ayashi too. Her twins hair is Akina by Ayashi. Both twins are wearing gacha nail polish by Figure, and the cute ASO poka dot rainboots from the Arcade which ends today. Twin Lady Bug gets her name from the clever LadyBug helmet from Freebird, and the toy Lady Bug racing cars.  Each Lady Bug car is a toy you rez on the ground, approve the driving permission, then use your keyboard arrows to drive your Bug all over! The rare is a Lady Bug racing track. Her outfit is a romper from Paperbag with a decal on the back for Pit Crew. Her Roo goggles are Cubic Cherry, and the little Cubic Cherry racing cars are from the gacha. The racing snails gacha by Tentacio is also adorable, each with their own props, and a must have for the Snail Racers! And even though I said in the story above the candy Calories cars were slow, they are actually VERY fast. So fast I flew right off my work platform into a parcel line. lol They come in Grape and Strawberry.

The Immortal 500: The Dominion of Team Nightrik

STORYLINE: The increased enthusiasm for this year's race made no difference to team Nightrik. The brother and sister team ruled supreme over the Immortal 500 and no ambitious punk was going knock them off their throne. They had talent. They had cyborg implants and years of game simulations. And if all that failed, they had their secret stash of Noble Blood charged Nightrik fuel and mutant pet sabotagers.

Nightrik Nos is wearing the badass Viking Hair mohawk by Tableau Vivant. You can pick it up at the Fantasy Collective. The rigged Viking Hair has a long braid in the back with ties in the back color change. From Level Up are the fun goggles by Violent Seduction. You can get then in 14 different colors. They come with a hud to change the metal and texture of the lens. The anime style armwarmers by Cubic Cherry come in sizes large and small, and 8 different colors. On my shoulder, looking like an evil Pikachu, is Sunderblast from the Monster Slayer gacha. He looks so mischief, love it! The nails are Wicked Peach Checkered. Over at We <3 Role Play, you can pick up the cool Cyber Wrench by YumYums on sale. It comes in version for the belt or the hand with a trigger animation. If this makeup reminds you think of Labyrinth, you're right! I picked it up at Serafilms last month. You can pick it up at the Bubble mainstore. Under the eyes is the Sleepless makeup by Clemmm currently on sale at Tengoku Rakuen Furimaketto. The white nylon vest, shirt and shorts I picked up during Grasp's 4 anniversary. The p.a.n. stompers are by Death Row. I used the rigged Ice boot and added an tint of purple for a great effect. The "For the Win" pose is by An Lar Poses at Level Up. STORYLINE: Getting the Fender Fang gang back together wasn't too hard. Everyone had already forgotten about what happened last year to the unfortunate mechanic Eddie. They were too smitten with the spitfire girl who replaced him, Naar. She had a burning love for speed and a fascination with fire. She was perfect, he didn't think she would run away when he showed her the gang's secret weapon to assure their victory, the "Daylight FireBomb."

Is this racing theme at Level Up, fun or what? Aarya and I have teamed up once more. I'm shooting the pictures while she is away from her photography computer. The shades by Kumaki have a popup menu to change the colors, and switch from up to down positions. I love the skulls and pipes pattern on the side. The Immortal 500: The Fender Fangs ride again!

STORYLINE: When the news broke of a mysterious grand prize for this year's Immortal 500 race, the Fender Fang gang reformed. No one knew exactly what the prize was, but it was rumored to be the most fabulous object of all the underworld. The race would no doubt prove to be a bloody and dangerous one as vampires around the world mowed each other down in their lust to acquire it.

The people who brought you the wildly successful Final Fantasy Fest bring you a new quarterly event with a video game theme called Level Up. The first is, "Drive It Like You Stole It." lol. I have been so hyped up about this! You can pick up cool racing style clothing, decor, gacha goodies, games, and poses in a variety of different styles such as Kawaii, Anime, Urban Decay, or just Hardcore Badass. Above I am showing the stunning Remarkable Oblivion helmet Fury that has all the style and intricate details I dearly love from RO plus the added material effects make it even that much sharper looking inworld! The level of realism is epic. Each Speed Demon helmet comes with visor up or down, materials or no materials, and you can get it in three styles: Fury, Predator, and Spitfire. To go with the helmet, I used the beautifully drawn system layer racing leather pants from 19 Motorcylce, the badass Dread boots from Razor that are perfect for a racing look, and the Kyler strapped jacket by R3VOLT. Both the Razor boots and R3VOLT jacket come with a hud to change the colors and textures. Level Up is from June 19 to the July 7th.

Needing it's own paragraph is the Motorcyle Raven by [sau]. For my coverage of Level Up, I did a investigation for the current best motorcyles in SL. I asked my friends, visited many stores, tried many demos. The clear winner in my quest is the Raven by [sau]. It is 100% original design in mesh by a creator with an obvious passion for 3d models and bikes. The Raven is currently on sale 50% off for promotion. You can change the color/textures on the body and frame, switch the sounds from a sleek Japanese engine purr to a more deep rumbling chopper roar. The bike can scale up for a tall vamp like me, and poses can be adjusted too. The Raven also takes a passenger who will cling to you for dear life as you race around. lol  It has an alarm, flight mode, burn out, lights, etc.  There is only thing I left on my wishlist of features, and that's the ability to upload my own custom textures for it.

And I'm not done with you yet, because there is one more badass thing I want to ramble about, the Loki Elliot's EnchantCake stage at SL11B! That's where the image above was taken before the official open. I was lucky enough to get a tour pf SL11B by the lovely Saffia from Designing Worlds, thanks Saffia! All the fun, work, and creativity at SL11B is incredible. I am crazy for the SciFi theme this year and LindenLab's Robot avatar. SL11B is a celebration our virtual world and great things are coming such as the next generation of SecondLife.  Definitely don't miss the gifts, a hunt, exhibits, live performances, DJ, and more at SL11B! The people watching alone is worth enduring the lag. lol SL11B started today at noon and goes until the 29th.

NEWS: Starter Mesh Avatar Update, and Linden Home Survery

NEWS: The Linden Labs starter mesh avatars have been updated. As promised, the shapes are now editable and hover errors are fixed. But in a surprise, Sara, the blond female avatar has gotten a makeover. She has a new hairstyle and new shape.

NEWS: For SLB11, Prim Perfect is having a survey about what makes a strong community in SecondLife. It appears to me that survey hints that either Linden Labs might be considering a makeover to their Premium homes, or the survey will be submitted to them with ideas on how to improve the Premium homes. This is awesome news!

I wasted no time sending my ideas like: 

1) Upgrade the old homes to more modern mesh styles that make less land impact,

2) More texture, color options to customize the mesh Linden homes

3) More public gathering spaces, like in Linden Japan a Hot Spring

4) Game areas of course, for clowning around with your buds

5) A mentoring program. Residents can mentor new users and earn perks, perhaps a Linden Home?

The Harajuku Kittens

It's a sweet time indeed for candy loving kitties of Harajuku. Chloe by Fuubutsu Dou is adorable. She is not a tiny avatar, but normal sized. Chloe comes with a short dress. Sold separately is the pink yukuta shown above. She has head, neck ruff, legs, legs with alpha for skirt, body, and hands. To fit hair on the kittens, use non-rigged hair and scale it up. Chloe and Ollie (see below) are both at Genre for only 100L until June 12th.

Over at the Arcade, you can satisfy your sweet tooth with the Remarkable Oblivion's Sugar Rush gacha. Chloe is showing the Sour Grapes top hat and the fun ChocoHorns as a bracelet and arm band. The Sakura hair style from Truth comes with little flowers and bears attachments. Each hair also comes with a color hud for normal series and roots. The one above is the Colors hud. The pink bears come from the blondes version. Her fan is the rare Oriental fan from Pixicat's gacha.

Kitten Ollie is a pale tabby. He has a head, neck riff, body, hands, legs and legs with alpha for pants, but unlike Chloe he comes with cap for his head and not an outfit. Rather than let him streak on the blog, lol, I put him in the wonderful new Ninja outfit by Pucca Firecaster available on sale at We <3 Role Play. I love this red texture with flames on it! It's one of the many texture choices you can choose for the jacket, pants, arm bracers and feet. The Ninja outfit comes with both girl and guy fits. It also includes a rigged Ninja mask and shadow prim you can adjust to fit your face. Pucca Firecaster also has a great Torii you can pick up for only 40L at current round of WLRP. Ollie's hair is Yato by Ayashi. It comes with a hud to scale for x,y,z to get a perfect fit. The Yato hair was on sale at the new event Tengoku no Rakuen that starts on the 20th each month. Before I answer the Meme questions, I want to point out two great items for guys and girls at Dark Style Fair. The event ends June 7th so hurry over to pick up the goodies! The Compass Tech Muffler I am wearing from Contraption fits in a wonderfully mysterious way. It's perfect to hide behind when you've been sloppy in your feeding habits. Boowahahahaha. Little Lolita is modeling the fitted mesh Bat Corset from Violent Seduction. The corset has cute bat bows in the front and back. It comes in black, blue, candy, green, ice, lavender, leaf, mint, peach, purple, red, teal, or white and each color has it's own complete color change hud.

Each time Berry's What's your Digits Meme comes around I take the time to reevaluate my shapes. It's a good exercise to do, especially for tweaking proportions. This Meme helped create the standard sizes thanks to Wisdom of the Crowd averaging. Using the standards eliminated the quirks in my shapes mostly for the better, while I still maintain my ideal Bishonen proportions. ...Now I have a confession to make. I switch shape and even tweak shape for clothing, or pose, on almost every image I do. My digits can vary greatly so it doesn't make sense to list my digits ranges. But I can say this, my main avatar above, which I wear when I am not blogging, uses a standard size medium and clocks in between 7' 8" (234 cm) and 8' (244 cm). For the girls shown on the blog, I've taken over that duty from Fulli. She might be back in the future, but for now I'm carrying the load. My girl shapes are all over the map too as I hunt for the right tone. I'm still trying to find my way around the girl dials. lol Little Lolita above is becoming one of my favorites. She wears a size extra small and stands without heels at 6' 4" (193 cm). ...yeah, maybe not so little Lolita. lol  Just for comparison, here is what my guy and girl avatars looked like back in May of 2012.

Have you tried any of the new fitted mesh avatars released by Linden Lab? What do you think of them? What are your thoughts about Fitted mesh?

Yes, all the vampires series ones! They are fun, nicely made, and a joy to clown around in. The normal series avatars however are harder to love because the faces don't have expressions, or have eyes that blink and move. It puts me in the Uncanny Valley and it feels like wearing a costume rather than inhabiting an avatar. The vampire series doesn't have that problem because they aren't trying to be realistic, they are costumes.  Fitted mesh clothing is great when it's well crafted. It makes it possible to convert girl clothes to femboy on the female base (that means no breasts or wide hips, and broader shoulders). This is a tomboy shape with fitted mesh I did here.

1. Have you tried any fitted mesh avatars/bodies created by residents?

Yes. I tried the demos for 3rd party fitted mesh for girls. The WowMeh had been the front runner for the ladies, but it's currently being reviewed by Linden Labs and not for sale. The Fitted Mesh Body Warz are just beginning too, Slink and Belleza girls are rumored to be in development right now. Of all the currently released fitted mesh girl shapes, the one I like the best is Chip Midnight's CMFF girl. It's not a fetish shape, it's Girl Next Door, and it wears existing hair and mesh in standard sizes. You can choose to wear the head or not, and use premade alphas, or create your own with his applier app. Basically, it's built to be modded. It aims to eliminate the need for slink attachments. The feet work with a rotation for the different heel heights. And the good news is Chip will be releasing a fitted male avatar at some point. I'm sure it will come after most the bugs and issues are worked out on the female first. As far as fitted mesh for the guys, that's the only one I know of in development. There a several male mesh bodies, but they are currently not fitted mesh. p.s Utilizator's Kemono has just released, it's not fitted mesh but selling like hotcakes. It has a neko twist to his anime girl Avatar2 shape and M3 Head.

2. Have you tried a mesh head? What are your thoughts about mesh heads?

Yes. Because I don't think of any girl shapes as "me' I'm not bothered at all by wearing a female mesh head. I got the Slink Becky head for the expressions but I have a few problems with it. 1) I need an option either add an alpha to the eyelashes or turn them off for photography. It's brilliant the eyelashes can blink but also means the lashes need to be solid for mesh switching animation. Those solid mesh eyelashes tend to photograph poorly, so photo only option to hide them or add an alpha to them would be great. 2) The ear hole is too large. I would love to have mesh head without ears or holes where the ears were when I add a mesh ear attachment. 3) The teeth are beautiful but really darkly textured. 4) Emma won on the mesh head contest and most appliers work for her instead of Becky. So the Becky have tends to have the eyebrows too high for her face which creates a startled look. ...  I would love to see more expressive mesh heads. That's a key selling point to me. ... My favorite mesh head for girls is Nea by SnowRabbit. I just love seeing this pretty face inworld, in the blogs, or on flickr. It's brilliantly made and lifelike. She randomly smiles and blinks. There is zero Uncanny Valley about her. The only trade off is you lose your identify when you use a mesh head. You will look exactly like any other person using it. But there is another mesh head that DOES have slider adjustments! It's the new mesh head by Yabusaka. You adjust the sliders in an app, then have your custom mesh head uploaded to SL. You can play with Mesh Studio Head demo here. The new male demo version is here. As far as a mesh head for guys, my favorite by far is DollCoco Male. He doesn't have expressions but he's so nicely made. With some tweaks you can wear your own eyes with him, or even your own shape, but I recommend keeping your shape skinny to better match the head. My main avatar's old skin also matches DollCoco male perfectly.

3. Do you foresee a lot of changes to our current Second Life avatars because of fitted mesh?

Yes. We will eventually make the switch to amazingly well made fitted mesh avatars. Perhaps as soon as a year from now they will be the new standard in SL. Why? Because they are nicer looking, and it will make posing and photography so much better. But when it comes to mesh heads, people will be resistant because it's takes away their individuality. So that brings us right back to the serious need for Linden Labs to update the default avatar, because it's the only one with facial sliders and emotions. We can replace everything else with fitted mesh, but not the head. Really, it could be as simple as just converting the head to higher resolution quads, removing as many triangle poles as possible, and making new morphs for the sliders (that includes less cartoony emotes), and keeping the UV maps the same.

STORYLINE: I do not know her name, nor how she looked, but she has been my only companion throughout the long years. The first time she came to me, she threw me from the tower into the river below. When I did not drown, she set me on fire. When the flames failed to destroy me, she buried me deep in the earth. However, I was not there for long. She dug me up, her silence somehow colder than the air around us. Then she finally spoke, "You are reborn. You are MY daughter now." After that she was much kinder to me. She delighted in dressing me up and brushing my hair while she hummed a lullaby. I was never able to talk to her, but I think she knew I was listening. Perhaps she liked it that I never spoke, never told her I thought she was cruel. She seemed to grow more and more attached to me. She even told me a sad tale of how she deeply loved a man, but he broke her heart and married someone else. When the day came that I felt change was near, she leaned down to me and whispered, "It was I who did this to you. Forgive me." She kissed me on the cheek and breathed, "forget." I opened my eyes as I heard the sound of a heavy wooden door breaking. I saw the blurry form of man in red charge charge at dark female figure. His sword sunk deep into her chest. She did not cry out, or resist. She turned into a shower of green ash and finally my long nightmare was over. The man lifted me up, for I was too weak to raise myself. "Are you alright, miss?"
