STORYLINE: What happens when a God King, who ruled for millennia, is unwanted and exiled for his hardline belief Human and Nosferatu can not co-exist? He disappears like ash scattered on the wind is what. Of course they were still terrified of him or what he might do next. No one knew where he went. Not even Gin, his devoted lieutenant. But no place was too far, too cold, or too bright. Gin would never give up searching for his beloved Pharaoh. Never.

Heads up, tonight is the last call for the Fall round of ROMP. The next round will be in January! Shown above is the the dog bed by Roawenwood with food and water bowls. STORYLINE: Gin found Kaiser Kruel hiding among the humans in the City That Never Sleeps. Kaiser's wrath was truly terrifying. But Gin silently endured his master's rage. He wasn't human after all, he could handle whatever the deposed tyrant threw at him. But no matter how violent things got, there was a deep bond of trust between them. They knew each other's limits. For Kaiser, he had someone who would never abandon him no matter his crimes. And for Gin, he was the only living soul who saw tears in the mighty Pharaoh's eyes.

On sale at ROMP, Titzuki created some Must have poses, blood tattoo, and even blood dribble strings I know the vamps will all love. Shown above is the TMP applier blood on chest tattoo. This wonderful sensual living room set is by Fallen God's Libertine. It come with great thought in poses for role play and makes it a easy to rez and derez with a clever urn. Another wonderful new set build with storytelling in mind is by Duchie, the suspension rack and bondage post. The Addams Family - The Perfect Family 1

STORYLINE: The Addams Family was a popular topic of rumor and speculation at Wednesday's school. The normally soft murmurs turned into a roar when for show and tell, Wednesday brought a macabre painting she claimed she painted herself. But instead of people praising her artist skill, they were horrified. The details were so gruesome, her art teacher asked how she achieved such realism. Wednesday replied simply she had a live "dead" model.

Every now and then something spontaneous and wonderful happens. After a conversation between Draconias and Aarya about how the Addams Family is the "Perfect Family," this fun portrait idea grew. Thanks to Aarya, Draconias, and Lexxii for letting me blog this!

STORYLINE: Muffy Hightower was on a mission: infiltrate the Addams mansion, find out if Wednesday really does have a mummified body for her still life painting, report her findings to her friends, and collect the reward money. Simple, right? First, Muffy started by emulating Wednesday's style. She laughed secretly inside when the gloomy girl was so overjoyed that a popular cheerleader suddenly took an interest in her that an invite to a slumber party at Freak Central soon followed. It was all too easy, Muffy thought.  What could possibly go wrong?

Muffy is wearing a fantastic Wednesday dress by Goth1c0 you can pick up at RMK Halloween. Her Eyeball necklace is by DownDownDown. You can change the textures by touching it and switch the colors on ribbon, metal, and 3 sets of eyes. Her pet Moth by Silentsparrow is a Dream Gacha prize. It comes in holdable, follow, and rez versions. (If you hurry there is also a purple and orange Moth still out for sale from Fifty Linden Friday at the mainstore location.) Muffy's hair, by Taketomi, is a fun spooky kawaii style with many hair pins and skulls from the past round of Gacha Mania. Her pastel goth tights are by Amerie, and shoes from Boom. Her pose is by Kirin and one one of many wonderful gifts from Season's Story anniversary round. Be sure to go check it out before the event ends.

Death Row makes it's debut at Collabor88 with two stunning pieces for the spooky hotel theme: A gorgeous velvet hotel couch, and stacked suitcases that include a blood stained holdable one, with or without, pose trigger. The couch seats people on all four sides, comes in pg and adult, and has a texture change hud. Don't miss it!  From RMK Halloween is the Ethelton Casket from Noctis is another beautifully textured goodie for gothic home decor. It includes a pose to laying down inside, and the lid opens and closes. There is a hud to change it's textures too. To the left of the image is the Magus supplies and Professor's desk, and on the rug is the Magus podium is the gift from RMK Halloween Dream Gacha. On the wall above the desk, is the Papermoon Green Witch Shelf from the Halloween Market at RMK, and by the podium is Green Witch Bundle prize from the RMK Dream Gacha. Next to the bundle is the Crystal Altar by Souzou Eien. It's also a prize from the RMK Dream Gacha. Close by is the Jar of Dirt from the MelonBunny booth at RMK Halloween Market. It's one of the commons from the gacha. MEME: What's your Digits?

Before I answer the Meme questions, I want to point out two great items for guys and girls at Dark Style Fair. The event ends June 7th so hurry over to pick up the goodies! The Compass Tech Muffler I am wearing from Contraption fits in a wonderfully mysterious way. It's perfect to hide behind when you've been sloppy in your feeding habits. Boowahahahaha. Little Lolita is modeling the fitted mesh Bat Corset from Violent Seduction. The corset has cute bat bows in the front and back. It comes in black, blue, candy, green, ice, lavender, leaf, mint, peach, purple, red, teal, or white and each color has it's own complete color change hud.

Each time Berry's What's your Digits Meme comes around I take the time to reevaluate my shapes. It's a good exercise to do, especially for tweaking proportions. This Meme helped create the standard sizes thanks to Wisdom of the Crowd averaging. Using the standards eliminated the quirks in my shapes mostly for the better, while I still maintain my ideal Bishonen proportions. ...Now I have a confession to make. I switch shape and even tweak shape for clothing, or pose, on almost every image I do. My digits can vary greatly so it doesn't make sense to list my digits ranges. But I can say this, my main avatar above, which I wear when I am not blogging, uses a standard size medium and clocks in between 7' 8" (234 cm) and 8' (244 cm). For the girls shown on the blog, I've taken over that duty from Fulli. She might be back in the future, but for now I'm carrying the load. My girl shapes are all over the map too as I hunt for the right tone. I'm still trying to find my way around the girl dials. lol Little Lolita above is becoming one of my favorites. She wears a size extra small and stands without heels at 6' 4" (193 cm). ...yeah, maybe not so little Lolita. lol  Just for comparison, here is what my guy and girl avatars looked like back in May of 2012.

Have you tried any of the new fitted mesh avatars released by Linden Lab? What do you think of them? What are your thoughts about Fitted mesh?

Yes, all the vampires series ones! They are fun, nicely made, and a joy to clown around in. The normal series avatars however are harder to love because the faces don't have expressions, or have eyes that blink and move. It puts me in the Uncanny Valley and it feels like wearing a costume rather than inhabiting an avatar. The vampire series doesn't have that problem because they aren't trying to be realistic, they are costumes.  Fitted mesh clothing is great when it's well crafted. It makes it possible to convert girl clothes to femboy on the female base (that means no breasts or wide hips, and broader shoulders). This is a tomboy shape with fitted mesh I did here.

1. Have you tried any fitted mesh avatars/bodies created by residents?

Yes. I tried the demos for 3rd party fitted mesh for girls. The WowMeh had been the front runner for the ladies, but it's currently being reviewed by Linden Labs and not for sale. The Fitted Mesh Body Warz are just beginning too, Slink and Belleza girls are rumored to be in development right now. Of all the currently released fitted mesh girl shapes, the one I like the best is Chip Midnight's CMFF girl. It's not a fetish shape, it's Girl Next Door, and it wears existing hair and mesh in standard sizes. You can choose to wear the head or not, and use premade alphas, or create your own with his applier app. Basically, it's built to be modded. It aims to eliminate the need for slink attachments. The feet work with a rotation for the different heel heights. And the good news is Chip will be releasing a fitted male avatar at some point. I'm sure it will come after most the bugs and issues are worked out on the female first. As far as fitted mesh for the guys, that's the only one I know of in development. There a several male mesh bodies, but they are currently not fitted mesh. p.s Utilizator's Kemono has just released, it's not fitted mesh but selling like hotcakes. It has a neko twist to his anime girl Avatar2 shape and M3 Head.

2. Have you tried a mesh head? What are your thoughts about mesh heads?

Yes. Because I don't think of any girl shapes as "me' I'm not bothered at all by wearing a female mesh head. I got the Slink Becky head for the expressions but I have a few problems with it. 1) I need an option either add an alpha to the eyelashes or turn them off for photography. It's brilliant the eyelashes can blink but also means the lashes need to be solid for mesh switching animation. Those solid mesh eyelashes tend to photograph poorly, so photo only option to hide them or add an alpha to them would be great. 2) The ear hole is too large. I would love to have mesh head without ears or holes where the ears were when I add a mesh ear attachment. 3) The teeth are beautiful but really darkly textured. 4) Emma won on the mesh head contest and most appliers work for her instead of Becky. So the Becky have tends to have the eyebrows too high for her face which creates a startled look. ...  I would love to see more expressive mesh heads. That's a key selling point to me. ... My favorite mesh head for girls is Nea by SnowRabbit. I just love seeing this pretty face inworld, in the blogs, or on flickr. It's brilliantly made and lifelike. She randomly smiles and blinks. There is zero Uncanny Valley about her. The only trade off is you lose your identify when you use a mesh head. You will look exactly like any other person using it. But there is another mesh head that DOES have slider adjustments! It's the new mesh head by Yabusaka. You adjust the sliders in an app, then have your custom mesh head uploaded to SL. You can play with Mesh Studio Head demo here. The new male demo version is here. As far as a mesh head for guys, my favorite by far is DollCoco Male. He doesn't have expressions but he's so nicely made. With some tweaks you can wear your own eyes with him, or even your own shape, but I recommend keeping your shape skinny to better match the head. My main avatar's old skin also matches DollCoco male perfectly.

3. Do you foresee a lot of changes to our current Second Life avatars because of fitted mesh?

Yes. We will eventually make the switch to amazingly well made fitted mesh avatars. Perhaps as soon as a year from now they will be the new standard in SL. Why? Because they are nicer looking, and it will make posing and photography so much better. But when it comes to mesh heads, people will be resistant because it's takes away their individuality. So that brings us right back to the serious need for Linden Labs to update the default avatar, because it's the only one with facial sliders and emotions. We can replace everything else with fitted mesh, but not the head. Really, it could be as simple as just converting the head to higher resolution quads, removing as many triangle poles as possible, and making new morphs for the sliders (that includes less cartoony emotes), and keeping the UV maps the same.

World Goth Fair 2014: The Enforcer

STORYLINE: I'm what the locals call an Enforcer in the city of Cursed, the penal colony of "Darks." In truth, Enforcers don't really have a job title. You see, I was never here and you never saw me. That's not an empty threat either, I really can wipe your memories. *points to the hair* For those who are clueless, that's what the white hair means, an especially powerful Dark. Seriously, wiping the memories of hundreds of humans is something this White Hair would rather not suffer, but it's not my call. The trouble is, after the scandal a year ago of a human/dark hybrid infiltrating Cursed, and the fallout of a recent famous rock star suddenly ending up here, the Scarlet Rebellion finally won a victory. The Council of Elders will open up the city for one day a year.    (Note: to read past versions of the Cursed storyline go here: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7)

WORLD GOTH FAIR! WORLD GOTH FAIR! That's right. The Bats have left the belltower. It's time to head down to WGF and get your Goth on. There are three sims, yes THREE sims of wonderful gothic creations to help raise funds for the Sophie Lancaster Foundation to help stamp out prejudice, hatred, and intolerance everywhere. This is one of my all time favorite events in SL. So many wonderful things come together at this event. WGF will introduce you to all the many active Gothic designers in SL, and even some who are making their debut here. While you shop and drool over the goodies, you can listen to awesome music from Nightbreed Radio and come party at Club Gothika with some of the finest Gothic DJs in SL. Magical things happen. For instance, Friday there was live concert by Jordan Reyne at WGF, and she donated all her tips to S.O.P.H.I.E.. She was amazing with a powerful and compelling voice. I have sneaked a peek at a few bands listed for WGF this year, and I was jumping up and down. Mark your calendars for May 22, World Goth Day. In a true sign Darkness is taking over in May, The Dark Style Fair has also just begun. Many of top designers of SL have come out in force to tempt you over to the darkside with thier tasty goodies. It runs from May 17 - June 7th. In my outfit above I am wearing a mix of things from both events. From World Goth Fair, I am wearing an outfit from ImmateriA that includes pants, suspenders, shirt, undershirt, and a mask. Midnight Eyes are the latest By Snow and include an excellent HUD for the perfect fit, and adding glows or fullbright. The Fishnet nails are a free wearable demo By Snow you can pick up in her booth. On my leg is Bat Garter belt by Squeek! It's super easy to adjust to fit. Love it. Over at Dark Style, I am wearing a funky civil war-like hat by R3VOLT. It comes with a hud to change the colors and textures on all the different material zones. Very cool. The Vanquisher war paint and eye makeup is another excellent new creation from Lovely Disarrary. I'm not often seen wearing tattoos, but I thought it might be fun to wear the Punk tattoo by Zentro. It comes in black ink and color. Did you notice my busted-up hands? That's a sweet tattoo layer for Slink hands by Clemmm. On my nose is bandaid from the Apple May Designs gacha, I won the black skulls. Fun! Death Row Designs has new ankle length Stompers at the TDSF. They come in rigged and non rigged. I am wearing the black and white version. The staff I am wearing is from the Fantasy Gacha by Primus. (I'm so happy I won the red staff.) It's a working weapon with sheath and hold, and you can smack people in the head with it too. lol

Tokyo 3.1: Guardian Sakura

STORYLINE: Given enough time diverse things merge and combine. This was true too in Tokyo 2085. While huge chunks of the city had joined the global cyber collective, some parts of Tokyo were ageless. One small section close to the water even had real living sakura trees. This was her favorite place. Guardian Sakura defended it ferociously. Somethings were worth dying for.

Originally I had the idea of doing a tough-as-nails woman warrior, but my idea took a turn toward a combination of hard and soft, past and future, east and west, after I won the watermelon colored falls. lol. The Rebellious armor outfit by Dark Prophet Designs is a wonderfully crafted mesh with pieces that can be added or subtracted. Included is a hood with 2 styles of tattoo to shade the face and make you look mysterious. Nice touch! It's on sale 25% off at We Love Role Play until August 31st. The soft elements are by Barerose. The Otoko Ohka package also includes hair, kimono and shoes. The Codie falls by Discord Designs is available in gacha at the 24 Event until August 31st. This beautiful skin by Koola is a current group gift. I love the eyeliner and freckles. The Amidala makeup by Avea adds a nice geisha touch. The dewy Jaded eyes by Poetic Colors match the green falls end nicely. For the pose, I used both katanas in the Fantasy Ninja pose by F*ckingNinjas. Down Into The Well

His plan was fool proof. Take his date to The Well, a popular make-out spot deep in the woods, and with the help of a few "bumps-in-the-night" she would be scared into his eager arms. Things were going great too, until one of the "bumps-in-the-night" suddenly spoke! It was child's voice begging to be saved. A child fell into the well?

If you love interactive SL horror adventures as much as I do, run go do Loki Eliot's "The Well." It's closing soon. It cost 25L to get the hud. It takes roughly one hour to complete. There are four possible routes, and a prize at the end. Have fun, and uh, turn up the sound.  Booowahahaahaahahaa!

UPDATE: Loki says The Well will come down this week, and version 2.0 will be back for Halloween next year. Yay!

Fun for kids of all ages is the third annual Trick or Treat Event! by Larnia Kids, Beach Street, and Bebe Buttons. The trick-or-treat trail is nicely decorated and will definitely get you in the Halloween mood. As you go down the trail, click the numbered cauldrons for prizes. You'll run into many classic horror characters and scenes. ...Have fun kids, be back before dark, and dont forget to take a flashlight!

Haunted Cornfield Maze is an interactive trail through a corn maze. Follow the clues, find the candy corn, and have a seat at the campfire and listen to spooky ghost stories.
