How the Sakura Got its Bloom

STORYLINE: Back in time when the Sakura did not bloom like does today, the Emperor's beloved wife became ill during pregnancy with their first child. The physicians did what they could. All that was left was to pray. The Emperor went to the scared tree that oversaw his rule. He begged the spirit of the Sakura do him a favor once more and save his wife and unborn child.

Going on now is the Origami Spring Festival. It's a lovely time of year in Japan when the beautiful Cherry Trees bloom. The Origami event in SecondLife is not to be missed! There are so many awesome goodies and ambiance, and that of the surrounding sims, is excellent! The picture above was taken at the entrance of the event. This idea was inspired by two things, the cherry bloom theme of Origami and the wonderful new Wood Nymph skin by Fallen Gods. It comes in male and female, and those of you using mesh for your avatar, I have awesome news! The male Wood Nymph includes appliers for Slink hands and feet, The MeshProject body and head, and even an applier for Lotus! Fallen Gods skins on TMP look amazing! The awesome geta are from CerberusXing on sale at Origami. They are unrigged so you can fit them system, slink, or TMP feet. They come in black and light wood. I used the light ones, and added a pink tint to match the overall look. Fun! The cool horns, tail, and lantern are from the Ayakashi Yokocho gacha at Origami. The eerie pink glowing eyes are Ghoul eyes Bonbon by Lovely Disarry. The top, sleeves, necklace and cuffs are by Koshino Yamatano Orochi by BareRose and I added a tint to it. STORYLINE: The Spirit of the tree knew the unborn child was female and she would grow up as beautiful and delicate as her mother. So after much pleading, the Spirit agreed on one condition, the princess would join him and become his wife once she came of age. The Emperor was horrified and refused. Hearing his distress, Spirit told him not to worry, each Spring she would return and bring her beauty back into the world she left behind. With tearful eyes the Emperor agreed, and that is how the Sakura got it's bloom.

I'm so excited to show you this sweet tea house, Cha-Shitsu modern, by Theater Chain. I was lucky to get a sneak peek of this wonderful creation being constructed. It's all mesh with a clean white and black color palette. There are two front sliding doors, and off to the side is a sliding door for the host. It comes with two cushion for the patio, left is a female smoking pose, and right is for male. Inside there is an additional matt, hearth, and traditional tea ceremony kettle with wooden serving spoon. The tea house is 53 Li. You can see as demo for the house at the entrance gate of the event.

Also from Origami is the Wagasa Umbrella and bench. Touch the parasol and you change it's textures. The bench has 16 poses for male and female, and the two items are 2 li together. Over at the Tea House are lovely Traditional Japanese Furniture gacha items by Silvery K: the Kimono display, Tobacco box, and paper lantern. (NOTE: I used many of these Silvry K gacha items in a separate project, -- Prim Perfect's Linden Home Challenge: Japan. When the article comes out, I will let you all know!). Oni War

STORYLINE: Mizuiro saw no use in trying to talk the humans into leaving. The entrance to sacred Oni lands must be defended. It was time for war!

Plea of the Niwa Oni

STORYLINE: Niwa was a young Oni who never bothered anyone. Flowers were her passion. She created a magical garden hidden in a snowy pass that led Oni lands. It was so beautiful it fast became the favorite destination of Oni lovers. Until one day a human hiker stumbled upon it. Now the trees were being cut down, bulldozers were leveling the ground, and where her prized camellias once grew, a cement truck emptied its load. She was not a strong Oni. She could not stop the humans from building a lodge there. So with tears in her eyes, she turned to the one who could help her. "Please, Mizuiro-chama, save my garden."

Part two of the Oni steries uses a fantastic collection of items all on sale 20% - 50% off at the Creators Collection Box, ends Feb 14th. The coat and kimono are by fitted mesh by Sakka Studio. Each comes in three different color choices. You can also get nice Tabi and rigged and unrigged Geta by Sakka Studio. The crying Camellia headress is by DownDownDown. Nightmare or Dream?

STORYLINE: It started beautifully at first. She dreamed of riding a carousel as the sun set. A haunting melody of a distant piano wafted in the gentle breeze. Suddenly, something pressed her down. The ornate wooden horses turned black. They bobbed up and down, around and around, faster and faster. She had became the carousel! She was trapped! Terrified, she jolted out of her nightmare only to discover something heavy was on her chest. Two menacing red eyes pierced darkness looking back at her.

Likka House has created an amazing wearable art outfit that can be a thing of dreams, or in the case above, a nightmare. It comes with rigged mesh corset and gloves in standard sizes. The hat, collar, wings, skirt, and carousel are mesh attachments. The lower skirt has a flexi draping. The socks are system and crying clown Pierrot makeup a tattoo. Japan Fair: Attack of the Daiyoukai

STORYLINE: He did not remember how he came into being. There were faint memories of walking on four legs, being trained for war, and fighting many battles. His instinct to protect his home was powerful and made him especially vicious. When his master and village were slaughtered, he raged. Homeless, he turned to eating the dead on the bloodsoaked battlefield, including that of his slain master. With so many tortured souls in his belly lusting for revenge, the dog, the human, and the spirits ignited. He was a dog demon then. He disguised his massive size by assuming his former master's human form. His destruction of the enemy village was absolute. Eventually he would give birth to a powerful Inuyoukai dynasty that would go on to dominate his beloved Western Lands for over a thousand of years.

Japan Fair! Youkai! Gifts! Settings! Dragon pet! Wind in hair! I'm so happy I'm stumbling over my feet here. Okay, let me get started with the largest topic first and work my way down. Japan Fair is a beautifully made sim packed with many of the best Japanese designers in SL. Items for sale include event exclusives, and it's all for a good cause, raising money for the ShelterBox. Shelter Box makes a kit of live-saving necessities and send these kits to people in need after a disaster. The Japanese designers are so grateful and impressed by the Shelter Box during their country's time of need, (the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami of 2011), that they want to give back and help raise funds for the Shelter Box. The event has many gifts through out the sim, and also has the Unofficial Hunt. The list of gifts I found at the event are listed below. On the opening weekend, there was a live Fashion show in a beautiful Noh style theater. The theme of this image was inspired by Lovely Disarray's "Apple of my Eye" hunt prize, the Destruction of Life : Makeup. The character of Sesshoumaru is what kick-started my love for bishounen style. For this post I wondered about the origins of the Inuyoukai and came up with a possible explanation. I hope you guys like my idea. Okay. I am wearing the BareRose exclusive Sanada ShiGusoku and the materials on it really look aweosme on the armor parts! The Seduction of Snow White, part 3

STORYLINE: Generations upon generations of geisha perfected the art of beauty just as the men perfected the martial arts. Among them rose a legend, a geisha 87 years old, who looked as fresh as the morning dew. It had been to her Prince Ravenna traveled to learn the secret. Contrary to Geisha Tsuyu's claims, she did not really have a miracle skin moisturizer. The trickster was using black magic. When Snow White came into being, Prince Ravenna suspected the old witch was behind it. In a rage, he journeyed to her once more. He grabbed her by the throat and demanded she undo the damage to his beautiful skin. She claimed to be innocent. Her magic only brought to the surface the beauty that was inside. How could she have known what rotten a person he really was? He called her a liar. She was no more inwardly beautiful than he was, conning women into buying her useless cosmetics. She was so outraged, she cursed him again.

Haunts of Halloween: Revenant

STORYLINE: He was murdered. His thirst for revenge reanimated him and he rose from the grave. This time, it would be him who would drive a sharpened scissor into the heart of the one he once loved.

The busiest week of the year in SL is going on right now. Lots of hunts, parties, events, gacha, sales, and adventures. Who doesn't love Halloween? Here is a quick look for Must See things:

The Eclipse Incident: Day Clan

STORYLINE: But it was the time for Day Clan the rule. The two sides readied their weapons. Day accused Night of using black magic to swallow the sun. Night called Day liars using tricky to incite a war. The situation seemed hopeless. There cannot be both Day and Night at the same time. "Look!" a small child pointed to the sky. The sun was reemerging. The Day Clan called off the war. The Night Clan warned they would back, and in greater numbers, next time Day made false allegations.

In the background is a cool house by Aisling that is only 35 land impact. YES! A mesh house that has lovely textures, has doors, collisions, security, no phantoms and only 35 LI! It's all mesh, and that means you can scale it up for titan size, or scale it down for petities.  Pretty cool. The trees are a group gift from Isovii that comes with a menu to change leaf color. Both poses, and the set are by Chanimations. The kit has 3 poses in all. I am wearing a cool Goblin mask by Kahli Designs that was in the fantasy gothca. My jacket is by The Library and called Mr Darcy. The one on sale is red. The Boots are from the cheapies section of WLRP and the style works so good for many types of role play. The Belt is a single obj you can scale to fit your shape. The gloves are by Fatewear and have been updated to include materials. If you own Dextor gloves, just get the update for free and you will have the new leather materials too. The Firey shaped horns are by Rue and on sale at WLRP. How many of you guys went thorugh a lot of Ls at the Tableau Vivant sale? I know I did. This one of the textures I got for 400L. Tableau Vivant and Glam Affair will both be down for 2 weeks as they remodel. The outfit on Faun is fantastic. It's by the Muses and includes all armor shown, and boots. There is a red and black version on sale too. The auburn dreads are a dollarbie at Discord Designs. The natural white version you can find in the marketplace here. The stag horns are by Aisling and were another sweet item at Fantasy Gacha. Her skin is a fun one, a rough-n-tumble girl, like a boxer, who has stiches under one eye, burised other eye, and a busted up lip. The skin comes in 2 tones and has appliers for Tango and Lush.

Many good things to talk about in this image. First is this is a truly beautiful male mesh Ball Joint Doll avatar by Coco. The figure uses default avatar's rigging, so you can edit the shape to suit your taste, or try to make it fit in normal mesh clothes like I did above. The rigged boots by Lassitude and Ennui are a perfect match for DollCoco's size. The elegant boot pant from Tableau Vivant also works perfectly. The rich cool red quilted tunic by the Muses is on sale over at We Love Role Play right now. For the waist, I combined two belts: the mesh kilt belt by A:S:S and one of my favorite belts by Sey. I get many compliments on this demon blindfold by BjD, it's just so badass. It comes with a color hud. The wings are by Illusions, they can texture change and come with spread wings too. Double the fun with Magika using two hairs to create romantic elfish style. The katana sword has materials and is free from BareRose. The surreal Donkeys are from Medieval Fantasy Hunt at United InshCon. And get this, they actually poop gold. That's right, you will be wanting to feed these babies a lot of hay, a better quality hay gives you better bullions. *makes jokes* lol  The skybox is in the Midsummer's Night Dream theme with paintings of the play.
