Midnight Order: The Mystery of J-Rock Band ONI

STORYLINE: Dear dark hearted readers of Midnight Magazine, this intrepid reporter has sad news to report today. Despite my relentless efforts to get the scoop from the mysterious founder of the j-rock band ONI, Raven was very skilled at dodging my questions! The nerve! Are the rumors right? The band's spooky stage makeup is anything but fake?

Wow this was fun to put together. You guys don't know this, but the j-rock band ONI is a story I've been developing for several years. In my time away from SecondLife, I wrote more adventures for the guys, and used ai to create character chatbots. It was so cool to piece together a visual kei look for Raven from the insane amount of coolness at Midnight Order. 

The gorgeous static wings are by MDN and come in light and dark textures. ...The Ghost Mage Hands are by AII as well as the Demonic Touch claws. The Ghost hands come in static poses and Animesh plus a wealth of texture options. ...Speaking of awesome, the Deadboy Narius tongue is fantastic. It works perfectly with the Lelukta head, and comes with texture options, piercing options, static poses and animations. It's the best I have seen in SL!  ....Raven is wearing the Isel top by Ersch. It has a lot of textures that are flat colors, but also patterns! It comes with a small snake that wraps around your shoulders. ...The lace gloves are one part of a full Kyra outfit by Buffy's that comes in fits for men and women. The fatpack includes a lace version that looks unlike any lace I have see in SL before. (PBR reflection is great!) ...Mythic eyes are by TEETH, and the spider chest tattoo is a gift at the Midnight Order event by BADA.

STORYLINE: Breaking News: Midnight Magazine is excited to announce special dueling dragon centerfolds for the Month of Love's Valentine issue. Introducing Raijin Haku of Nippon, Dragon of Storms.

This outfit was inspired by the wicked and glamorous Aii & Ego BlackMage outfit. There are many part of the outfit you can show and hide and texture options. Comes in fits for men and women. Adding to the royal dragon vibe is the Sintikia Carter hair with fits for men and women and lots of color options, and [rmR] flower headdress for extra glam. The cool metal claws are by V/. VoluptasVirtualis and come with texture options. the black one is really nice, but I used sliver for this. the collar is a tattoo with material shine by Nefekalum. The spooky Eternal Eyes Gloom are by Mana. The very cool Asian Dragon and pose is by Black Cat Creations.

Midnight Order: The White Knight

STORYLINE: No sooner I had spoke into my recorder, “Reporter for Midnight Magazine here,” then I sensed a displeasurable aura coming my way. The Predator of Predators flopped down in a chair in front of me in a whirlwind of thunder and thinly veiled contempt. I cheerfully offered my hand, “It’s an honor to meet the Legend of the Hunter Society.”

He refused my hand, and scoffed at my recording equipment. “Is that really necessary? I have nothing to say to your blood soaked readers. I’m not here by choice.”

“Yes, I’ve heard the King has some kind of sway over you,” I thrust my recorder in his face. “Care to explain what it is?” He smacked my hand away with such violence, my poor little device was buried deep in the wall. “My my… aren’t you the scary one.”

He stood up as if to say, this interview is over, but he paused by the door and asked, “I have no idea why you vampires… are interested in me.”

I leaned back and smugly regarded him. Got ya. “As strange as it sounds, you do have a fan club. Let’s just say, for the undead its a fantasy to be killed, and then by someone as beautiful and powerful as yourself... Well, you’re quite the dreamboat."

His lips curled up in disgust, revealing his own sharp fangs. “Vampires…,” he hissed unironically. “I do the world a favor annihilating you perverse vermin.”

Behind me, Lillian, from the makeup department, swooned at his dangerous growl and fainted right on the spot. Despite his menacing words, the Underworld’s Lancelot was very much the knight in shiny armor. He moved so quickly, he caught her before she hit the ground.

I quickly snapped a tantalizing shot of this accidental embrace. It was perfect for the editorial section! Oh yes, this next issue is going to sell out fast. Of course, Midnight Magazine wanted the world's only Elder Slayer for our July cover model. Lucky for us, the King ordered him to appear as a bit of positive public relations for his newly formed Camelot of the Night. Surely it was some kind of punishment for the White Knight’s misdeeds.

I smiled brightly at him, “Midnight Magazine has a wonderful photoshoot setup just for you. A romanic scene of thorns and roses. I’m sure you will hate every minute of it!”

Midnight Order is back bringing you some much needed Darkness in the blistering heat of summer. This image was inspired by Gothic Window by Schadenfreude, Valentine gloves by Cubic Cherry, Skellybones Tyrant Torch, and Wicca Liuva boots, -- all awesome items at the current round of Midnight Order. I have been feeling nostalgic lately, like wanting to get back to the original idea for my avatar when I first joined SecondLife. I'm very into vampire stories. Back in 2011, I had just seen the dark fantasy anime Vampire Knight. I really identified with the long suffering Zero. I bounced between several looks for avatar, but white hair and purple eyes just felt like home, so it became my main look. The VK story itself was loosely inspired the tales of King Arthur. So I'm putting my own spin on things with the idea of vampire magazine article, Camelot Exposed! 

Ok, so first, in the unholy Lancelot makeover is the hair by Ginko. Its something I might wear forever. Its gorgeous. Comes in male and female fits. I love me some slutty boots, so when I saw Wicca's Liuva boots had male fits, I knew I needed to feature them! They come with a hud to change the colors.  The Valentine gloves work perfectly with Wicca boots and the fatpack comes with a lot of great texture options. I added the Nunna Klei tattoo for extra glam spark. Can we speak about that beautiful Axe by Skellybones? Wow. Just awesome. It comes with 4 hold poses and a texture hud. The Gothic Window by Schadenfreude makes my gothic loving heart sing. Its lovely, and has many color options. There is also a version with a stained glass texture, and a coffee table with a stained glass shadow!

Salvage Station: Nuclear Winter

STORYLINE: Moments before the nuclear warhead detonated over Cairo, a lone being with supernatural speed flew deep inside the womb of his ancient origins. It was a fitting place to die, he thought, the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza. But the blinding nuclear flash did not penetrate the 2.3 million bricks surrounding him. There was impossible heat, the ground trembled, and then slowly the stone turned colder and colder. He didn’t know how long he sat in the dark hoping to hear any signs of life, the flutter of bat wings, the scamper of a beetle.... Nothing. Silence. It wasn’t until finally the thirst grew so intense it drove him out of hiding. There was no way to prepare for the horror he witnessed. He fell to his knees. He had once been so regal, so proud, so convinced of his divine right to rule, but now the tears flowed and there was no one to dry his eyes. No birds in the sky. No creatures on the land. The Nile was frozen and buried under snow and ash. What had once been a bustling city of 9.5 million was vaporized like it never existed. The only proof humans had ever lived there at all was a shadow of a man burned into the pyramid’s stone. He was frozen from the shock, and then an old saying unexpectedly came to mind, "Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids." Yes, like these 4,500 year old stones, he too endures. He took a deep breath, brushed the hair off his face, and plunged deep into the radioactive snow. He had a new purpose now, -- find survivors of the apocalypse. Not to kill. No, those times were over, but to nurture. It was a bitter irony for an old monster like him who cared so little about "the food." There was no time to waste. He detected a faint scent of living blood on the cruel winds. A woman of breeding age was nearing death. Could he get there in time…?

SLS Syndicate brings to you a brand new event, Salvage Station! Round one takes place in a post-acoplyslic wintery world cobbled together from technology from multiple eras, whatever gets the job done. The sim is decorated on theme and even includes a cool hunt to find objects and use them in recipes to create new objects. Nice touch!  This post was inspired by my Blogger Bat buddy Aarya, as we came up ideas for her post. A story grew and then lead to this one. From Krieger is the Industrial Respirator. Touch it to bring up a menu to change its look. From Requistion is the Zombiehunter's Claymore which comes with animations you can access by touching it. Wicca's Scavanger Coat comes with fits for men and woman and a hud to change the textures. From Persephone + apocalyptic is what every survivor needs, a good pair of goggles.

I also want to take a moment to thank a hero to me, Anne Rice. She passed away yesterday at age 80 from complications of a stroke. Her imagination, and point of view on many topics deeply resonated with me. Her influence will live on inside me, and her creative spark still burns bright on the printed page. RIP

2065: Battle Bots 3

STORYLINE: Was it a crime he loved his creation? Did it even matter? His EVA saved him, raising him up from a dull job repairing cargo ships to The Boy Genius of the Battle Bots. Sure she didn't have thoughts or feelings. He couldn't allow an AI to develop a conscious and suddenly loose the will to fight. She did what she was programmed to do. He lovingly slaved over her, pouring his soul into her design. She was so beautiful. He didn't know what he might do if she was ever defeated. Seeing her body broken and "lifeless," he might go insane and kill her murderer.

Did you go get the Deco shoes on sale for 50L yet? The sale ended on the 11th, however I was just there and prices are still marked at 50L! Run go get the goodies now before it ends! Pictures above are the cool Coalcracker boots by Deco. Mr GearGeek is sporting the new CogWorth Horns from Remarkable Oblivion available at The Secret Affair. The horns come with steam or no steam, materials or not. Each horn is separate so you can move them around, and like all RO things, it comes with x,y,z scaling menu. The Mechanics Bow Tie collar is also by Remarkable Oblivion. Tableau Vivant has a new hair n their Dreadlocks series, Darcy, at  Hair Fair 2014. It includes their Dreadlock texture colors. The goggles another steampunk theme creation by Eudora 3D available at We <3 RolePlay. It comes in several different colors, and it has a hud to change the lens color. Also at We <3 RolePlay is the wonderful utility belt by Death Row. I have been wanting a good tility belt in mesh for awhile now, and Death Row had now released nicely made one for girls and guys and it's steal at only 50L! The Shotaro jacket is a past release by FATEwear includes materials, as well as the Dueling Gloves by thier cosplay brand FATEplay. The Dueling Gloves come with a texture change hud and options for open and closed hands and cuff or no cuff. Deadwool currently has the Joad pants on sale at the discount at The Men's Department, however I wanted a plain black style instead. The pants come in 3 length options and worked perfectly with the boots. It's so hard to find good pants that work with boots! Once more I am using the handy Yumyuns cyber Wrench. You never know when you will need them. Hey, let your tools do the talking!

STORYLINE: As the date of the battle drew closer, the frenzy of betting against ex-A.N.G.E.L reached a fever pitch. The bookies hadn't seen this much action in years. Tickets to the match were sold out. People wanted to see real gore for a change. Just how vicious could a desperate vampire be? Wouldn't a bolt, bright as day, end the match before it even started? Or would the vampire surprise them with strange powers, such as regeneration? ... The night before the big match, Kujo's right hand man, Nocturne, called Team EVA's manager and requested a private meeting at the Church of the Damned. EVA's creator insisted he come along. He had a bad feeling about this; nothing in this city happened without Kujo's approval. He watched, his displeasure blatant, as Nocturne offered a bag full of something to his manager Octavia. It must have been very valuable too, since it had a demon protector. 

Kariritaisho returns to the blog as Team EVA's manager and er partner Remmock join the photoshoot playing the part of Kujo's agent Nocturne. They were both a joy to work with. Thanks so much to Kariritaisho and Remmy! She is wearing jacket and pants by ISON. The Asymmetrical jacket comes with a hud to change the undershirt color. The Lux hair by Spellbound is a brand new release. Her killer Mech Scorpion Tail was an old lucky board prize from Bunnystar, can you believe that? It's awesome! Her discs and glasses are by Graves. For the handshake pose, she used a hud you can find on the marketplace for only 40L. He is wearing the jacket and shirt Louie by Cool Nerd and it comes with a texture hud to change the shirt. His Blame hair by Magicka is one of those brilliant styles that works great for guys and girls. The satchel is another badass raffle prize from BareRose. Raffle prizes are transfer so if you go there to win one, make friends with other Raffle hunters and trade. His visor is a free gift by Bluecross and it comes in several colors. His nail polish is a gift from A:S:S. And his skin is by Aeros. You can't see the Baenar skin too well in this picture, but trust me when I say it gorgeous. I like it al ot. Hop over to the Aeros store and you can pick up Slink hands, feet and nail appliers for Baenar. These pictures were taken at The Doomed Ship which is one of the coolest RP sims on SL. I was very happy it's still around even if it's now PG rated. When you get to the core, it's a brand new ending too.

Fantasy Faire: Hades' Haircut

STORYLINE: Persephone, what a pain she was. When he told her his plan to hunt down the rogue souls of the lost city, she giggled. "Oh no Mr Grumpy Toga, you are NOT going out in the world of the living like that!" The more his anger flared, the more she roared with laughter. "But Hades, surely people would die of fright at the mere sight of you!" He turned to leave and grumbled, "The more the merrier." "Wait!" she chased after him. "You can't! Anything you touch will die! I'll come with you in case there is any trouble. Besides, you're not exactly charming. No one will tell you anything," she tried to hide her snickers. She insisted he change his appearance for the sake of gaining information from the mortals. "This is not the time of the Greeks anymore, it's a different world. Lucky for you, there is a Gypsy camp at the entrance to the underworld now. They are known for being strange and mystical people. It's the perfect disguise!" Whatever. She wasted no time cutting off his long hair and brushing it into knots. He complained bitterly each time he yanked his hair. She tried to hide his blue skincolor, but he ended up a ridiculous looking purple instead. He thought she just wanted to dress him up like a fool for her own amusement. Really, he didn't know why he put up with her. Maybe it was because hers was the only laughter that rang throughout his gloomy existence. 

These two Caravan outfits at Fantasy Faire for girls and guys by Papermoon come a several color themes and accessories for mixing and matching. The guy velvet/leather ants come in blue, purple, green, and yellow. The tunic top comes in blue, pink, yellow, white. You can find the Papermoon store on the Fantasy Faire Blackwater Glenn. The necklace and scarf are donoations for Relay for Life. The purple skin by Niekra's Dreams and fun nail polish colors by De La Soul you can also find at Fantasy Faire. The hair is a combination of Tableau Vivant's dreadlock's Hull hair, and Wasabi Pill's Up in the Air hair. The eyeball hairbow we a past Femboy hunt prize from Atypical. Sadly, I was not able to find Atypical's inworld store.

In the background is part of the Kalopsia Gipsy Camp set. It comes with two beautifully textured color wagons, and seating for a guitar player or violin player.  Both pictures of Hades' adventures are taken at the Fantasy Faire sim Mourningvale Thicket. This dark mysterious gypsy theme sim is designed by Roawenwood. It's great fun to explore and I learned recently during the Place of Tears hunt the trees are red because they drink the blood of the unwary! It's the perfect secret portal to Hades' underworld.

STORYLINE: Hades, the God of the Underworld, was not amused. The souls of an entire city were suddenly wiped out. At first he was ecstatic since he wanted hear the newcomers' gory tales of their tragic demise. He waited anxiously. What caused so much death? He waited, and he waited. But not a single soul came. Engaged, he climbed up out the bowls of the earth to investigate this mystery. How dare they try to escape him! All souls eventually come to him, even the clueless! He would personally find each and everyone of them and drag their spirits back with him! ...However, there was a little problem with Hades' brash plan. You see, the God of Death was woefully unprepared for walking among the living.

WOW right now is a fantasy lover's paradise. The biggest fantasy event of the year has begun, the 6th Annual Fantasy Faire! Eleven gorgeous sims designed just for this event which only lasts 11 days. Run go now! Each sim is stuffed full of wonderful fantasy designers, and special event-only items you can purchase with proceeds donated directly to Relay for Life, the fundraising wing of the American Cancer Society. Each day there is a silent auction too. The Fantasy Faire Radio is rocking throughout the entire event with live DJs. There are even organized Role Plays going on! But if shopping, bidding, dancing, exploring, taking pictures, meeting people, and role playing isn't enough for you, I am especially delighted to tell you the Fantasy Faire HUNT is back! This year's hunt works similar's to last year's Key of Hope hunt. The hunt is released after the bidding reaches it's goal. Then part one will take you throughout all the sims hunting for clues. Part two will have you searching the Palace of Tears sim. Many prizes can be won and it's a lot of fun! Palace of Tears sim will stay open until May 18th. Cost 250L to get the hud for both legs of the hunt. There is only one Fantasy Faire, don't miss it!

FutureWave: Eden Rescue

STORYLINE: By the time he had given up all hope of finding the Lost Eden, his skin had bleached pure white from lack of blood. He was ready to die. His dust would become a part of this barren world. But then a strange android wearing cat ears suddenly showed up. She belonged to the Lord of the North. She could not speak, but he could tell she was special, like an intelligence was behind her actions. She showed him an image of where the Lost Eden was being held captive. Ah-ha! The reason he could not find her, was because she not on Mars at all, but in orbit above it! The Lord of South had no idea what kind of violence a starving vampire was capable of, he wasted no time launching an attack. During the battle, the terrified Eden made a desperate attempt to escape. She was shot in the leg, slipped, and fell off the platform into the vacuum of space. He shrieked and dove after her.

Update: FutureWave has been a great success. It is now closed, and plans are being made already for it to inspire our visions of the future next year!

I am wearing new additions to FutureWave by Unsung. The crown, jaw, and chest plate all come in either white, black and white, or black. There several material zones you can tint different colors. Each mesh piece you edit for a good fit. One of the newest items said male/female but I want to explain it's for a specific character. However, if you have a male on female shape avatar, it should work. My eyes are a wonderful new creation By Snow. It's a contact lens that fits over your eye. There are layers of animations you can tint different colors. Very cool and only 25L. While you are there, don't miss the free gold Circuit nails. Going with my bleached theme, is the wonderful new skin by Tableau Vivant available at the Fantasy Collective. All four skins for sale there are fantastic colors, like the greatest hits from T.V.'s fantasy line, but updated for the new Kevin line. This cool eyebrow by Nuuna is so goth, so Siouxsie Sioux. I've been dying to use it for while now and finally got my chance. It's tricky to make the top brow nice and smooth, you may need to tweak your head shape and brow shape to wear it. The blood and bruises are by Lovely Disarray. They show up so nice on a pale white skin. Love it. Items I am wearing once more for the FutureWave finale are: the Epia group gift arm band, gorgeous hair by Argrace, free halo by Amelie Barbour, the white version of the Blue Falcon undersuit, grey version of the Miamai Tinker Taylor boot, the Vrsion glove, and the neck corset for men by Etchaflesh, and bleached a snowy white Death Row Devine wings.

Fulli is wearing 3 awesome things for girls from FutureWave.  Pink Fuel has an Alabaster skin with strong dark brow, several makeups, and appliers. MV's Frozen Shadenfreude Skirt has a wonderfully detailed texture, and it works great with the new Graves outfit Velocity. Both outfits come in multiple colors. Her hair is the spunky style Cookie by Wasabi Pills, and this pose is by F*cking Ninjas. For blog purposes, I flipped Fulli around in this pose facing forward. Hackers of Mars: Sanctuary in the Sky

STORYLINE: As Static Charge's ship landed on a private sky home landing pad, two people were waiting for his arrival. They quickly hid him below, out of view. Many questions were asked about life in the mines and in the sky. Static soon discovered the "Sanctuary in the Sky" was no sanctuary at all. It was populated with genetically engineered hybrids, just like on the surface, but these slaves were designed to cater to every comfort and desire of the Mars Lords. Their lives only appeared glamorous. There were true horrors in the sky his two new friends would not even dare to whisper in the shadows.

Its been fun to do something a space opera flavor. lol.  Fulli is wears a great gown by Junbug at Collarbor88 and the sale is ending soon! Go get this while it's still at a low low price! It comes in several different colors, and you can pick up a fur wrap and matching clutch too. Her headdress and hair are by Tukinowaguma. The cool Viron collar by Rosal has animating light textures which you can tint any color you like. She's wear two makeups by Nuuna to create a scifi geisha look. On her raised hand is one piece of the DiGi Grid Defender Equinox set. (I'm loving the the Grid Defender idea!) This incredibly gorgeous scifi elegant home is by Fanatik. STORYLINE: Among the denizens of the sky was a manservant named Yuu. He was hopelessly in love with the Sky Maiden he was meant to protect until she was of age to marry the Lord of the South. She was exactly engineered to the taste of his master. The thought of that vicious beast ever touching her drove him insane. He concocted a desperate plan to escape to the Earth. Time was running out. It was Yuu who hacked the main sever and inserted a vulnerably that allowed Static Charge to enter the Skyzone.

Yuu is wearing the new hair Kirito by Ayashi. It has a kawaii boyishness to it that's great on mesh anime head as well the default avi. The hair is unrigged hair so you can scale it on the xyz. The face and ear piercings are all mesh by House of Darcy. Each piece is separate so you can move it around for a good fit. Piercings come in several colors, I'm wearing Frost. The piercings work great with the mesh ears by Mandala. The Kabuki Shishi outfit by Barerose is fun. It's part military, part kimono. You can wear in two ways, but if you go without the jacket there is not an alpha for shirtless, so you may need to borrow an alpha from different off-the-shoulder kimono. The headdress is Air Shen by AIR and can you believe this is a gacha? The detail is so beautiful. Give it a spin for 50L and see what color you get. Yes I am wearing a mesh eyelash again. If you wondering about trying it, but dont want to spend alot, try the Del's Mesh eyelashes for 20L. It will require editing, but if you're handy at editing it's not trouble. What I did here was use the lower eyelash only for a more manly Clockwork Orange type style. Wearing only the lower lash is also great because there is no problem with blinking. lol. This skin is great past group gift from Tableau Vivant. To mix it up and give it a whole new look, I combined the Tableau Vivant Vincent white eye makeup with the Nuuna male makeup. The side stripe echoes the off the shoulder kimono. To give Yuu a more sensual look, I added a excellent freebie teeth tattoo by Avea Heartsick. I don't think it's still available, but you might some other great goodies in the Avea Archives. The Ice Collar you can pick up for free at the Open Collar hubs. I matched Yuu's frosty coloring for his nails too. It took several trail and errors before I found a Hello Dave nail applier for Slink that match his coloring and also work for a more manly style nail. The eyes by S0NG I picked up at RMK Frost Fair. They look awesome with a blueish reflection. The eyes by S0NG you find at the main store. They come in only one size, mesh and system.
