Fantasy Faire: Hades' Haircut

STORYLINE: Persephone, what a pain she was. When he told her his plan to hunt down the rogue souls of the lost city, she giggled. "Oh no Mr Grumpy Toga, you are NOT going out in the world of the living like that!" The more his anger flared, the more she roared with laughter. "But Hades, surely people would die of fright at the mere sight of you!" He turned to leave and grumbled, "The more the merrier." "Wait!" she chased after him. "You can't! Anything you touch will die! I'll come with you in case there is any trouble. Besides, you're not exactly charming. No one will tell you anything," she tried to hide her snickers. She insisted he change his appearance for the sake of gaining information from the mortals. "This is not the time of the Greeks anymore, it's a different world. Lucky for you, there is a Gypsy camp at the entrance to the underworld now. They are known for being strange and mystical people. It's the perfect disguise!" Whatever. She wasted no time cutting off his long hair and brushing it into knots. He complained bitterly each time he yanked his hair. She tried to hide his blue skincolor, but he ended up a ridiculous looking purple instead. He thought she just wanted to dress him up like a fool for her own amusement. Really, he didn't know why he put up with her. Maybe it was because hers was the only laughter that rang throughout his gloomy existence. 

These two Caravan outfits at Fantasy Faire for girls and guys by Papermoon come a several color themes and accessories for mixing and matching. The hair is a combination of Tableau Vivant's dreadlock's Hull hair, and Wasabi Pill's Up in the Air hair. The eyeball hairbow we a past Femboy hunt prize from Atypical. Sadly, I was not able to find Atypical's inworld store.

In the background is part of the Kalopsia Gipsy Camp set. It comes with two beautifully textured color wagons, and seating for a guitar player or violin player.  Both pictures of Hades' adventures are taken at the Fantasy Faire sim Mourningvale Thicket. This dark mysterious gypsy theme sim is designed by Roawenwood. It's great fun to explore and I learned recently during the Place of Tears hunt the trees are red because they drink the blood of the unwary! It's the perfect secret portal to Hades' underworld.

RMK Frost Fair: Jack Frost Incognito

STORYLINE: After Jack Frost froze the Thames last year, he became a local celebrity. As the date of this year's Frost Fair drew near, his adoring fans staked out the river hoping to get a glimpse of him at work. But Jack prefers the solitude of gentle falling snow to squeals of excited teenagers.

The Glaze of Winter crown by Contraption I added a slight cyan tint to. When you see it with materials on, it looks amazing! The crown comes in 3 sizes, and you edit it how you like. Most of my look here is what I wore last year as Jack, but back then you couldn't see under his blindfold. Now you can to see what Jack really looks like, including my eyelash experiment from last year. These lashes by Gaeline Creations were very fast and easy to adjust using a hud. I really would love to see some mesh lashes solutions for the men. Any designers listening?

STORYLINE: Jack wore a disguise and snuck past the crowds to freeze the Thames, but didn't fool anyone for long. He was soon over run by seekers of his icy autograph.

Jack caught in the act! It was fun to whip out some special effects in photoshop for this one. The steampunk reindeer mask by Contraption you can pick up at RMK Frost Fair. It's materials enabled and comes with antlers only, mask, mask with antlers, and decoration rez version. While you are the Contraption booth, be sure to pick up the nice freebies too! The outfit is by LOoLOo's is from Gothmas by Gaslight. The pants are system and that works great for my boots. The hair by Wasabi Pills is a lucky iceberg win from a past Arcade.

Femboy Hunt Winter 2013, part 4

Today we will explore three stylized takes of Bosnian super model Andrej Pejic who has the amazing ability to model both male and female clothing. Going counter-clockwise through increasing degrees of cuteness:

On the left is my experimental take on Andrej. I am using Tableau Vivant skin Andrej and hunt prize hair Lythrum. Like a good model, he is showing us the new Epic Sweater from Epicosity which comes with a hud for changing 12 colors and 3 fabric patterns.

On the lower right is cute hunt prize Andrej by Aeva Heartsick that comes with 5 skin tones, options for brows and freckles, plus male shape for female base. This skin works great on the male base too! Glam makeup tattoo by Tori-Tastic. Both Visual Kei style hairs in blue are from Ayashi, the hunt prize is the darker blue.

On the upper right, the cuteness explodes with an adorable Chibi mesh avatar by Curious Kitties. Everything he is wearing is either a hunt prize or a freebie from the Curious Kitties store.

Hardly forgotten, Jack Frost is more popular than ever. This is even his second appearance in the blog this winter! Is Jack playful with a wink in his eye as he "nips at your nose," or is he something monstrous to be feared? Depends on your point of view.
