Advent Mania 2015!

I love advents! Many of my favorites have returned.  My list focuses on unisex, decor, and advents with things for guys. This year here are four new things to report: 

One: Sway's is back this year and is using a hud. Look around the sim to find all the baubles to unlock each date on the calendar. Then come back each day to get that day's gift.

Two: The Christmas Advent-ure HUD! Head to Lantian/Flox or Timeless Textures to pick up the hud. Included are links to many of this year's Avents in notecard form and a handy hud that will teleport to each destination.

Three: Fair Play is a fantasy theme fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. Look for the advent numbers around the sim for the daily gift.
Four: !gO! Has original mesh gifts each day for men, joining the group is 50L. Meva has original mesh mesh gifts also, many of them unisex, it costs 100L to join.

PoseFair 2015

The massive Pose Fair 2015 ends today. If you haven't dropped by yet, don't miss it! There are poses for girls, guys, couples, dance animations, ... and something totally new to me, HUDS!

Shown above is the Tillies Hud. I am totally a new to using a hud helper for my picture taking, but it's amazing. I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner! I've been experimenting with the different tools in this hud. One part of the hud am I am crazy in love with, -- being able to save multiple camera positions! Now when I crash while taking a picture, I can return right back where I was. THERE ARE 10 CAMERA SAVES! This is so amazing. Think about it, say you are making vendor pictures of a product. You want the images to be consistent and only the product or avatar changes, right? Well this with handy tool you can save you camera positions for your ads and your vendor pictures will be consistant for today, tomorrow, even a year from now! As long as you keep your camera preset, you are good to go. It works on all viewers. The hud also has sets for poses, saves windlights, changes backdrop, and more. At Pose Fair you can try out the Tillie Hud demo here: Pose Fair 2015 At the end of this post, I included an easy guide to using the Camera Section of the the hud.

The outfit I am wearing above is in a fun color theme from FATEwear, Highlands. (That's fancy speak for PANK. lol) The Belfort coat comes with a wool collar, shirt, vest and tie. I love canes, so any excuse I get to use one I will go for. lol Topping off this Jazz pose by Le poppycock is the Souzou Eien Dapper Cane. It comes with a hud to change the wood and metal colors. The setting props by Apple Fall are from the Paris gacha now located at the mainstore.

Dev’s How To Guide for the Tillies v5  Hud Camera Control:

How to Save a Camera Angle:

1) Position camera where you want it. 

2) On the upper left side, select the camera icon.

3) Choose a number in the circles on the right side of the hud.

4) Click once to turn it pink.  (meaning you have selected it)

5) Click it again to turn it purple (meaning the camera angle is now saved)

6) Move your camera where ever you like.

How to return to a Saved Camera Angle:

1) When you want to return to a saved camera position, hit the esc key on your keyboard.

2) Now choose one of the numbers in the purple circles on the right side of the hud.

3) Click it.  Wa La! Camera angle is restored!

Q: But Dev, what if I crash?

A: Crashing is when the saved camera positions will really save you time! The hud saves the camera, so you can restore and pick right up where you left off before the crash.

Q: Ok cool, but what if I want to switch viewers?

A: No problem! I tried it in both Firestorm and the Official Viewer. The camera angle was exactly the same, doesn't matter what viewer you choose!  Pretty cool, huh?  ^^  (TIP: you can use the Save Windlights presets to transfer your lighting also when moving to anther viewer.)

Q: Oh I spammed up all my Saved Camera Positions, how do I get rid of them?

A: Simple, see below.

How to delete Camera Positions

1) Select the saved position you want to delete. (it will turn pink when selected)

2) Now look on your hud in upper left side for the Skull and Crossbones.

3) Click it. Boom! Saved position is now gone and the circle returns to grey (blank).

How can shuffle through camera positions quickly? (yes, I am lazy) lol

1) Next to the Skull and Crossbones are two arrows on either side of the letters “Cam”

2) Click those to shuffle quickly through your saved camera positions.

World Goth Fair: The Vampire Squids

STORYLINE: The Elders were worried for the safety of the visiting humans during the celebration of World Goth Day. Patrolling the sea would be the Navy of Cursed, The Vampire Squids.  

Time is running out to scoop up the awesomeness. Over at We <3 Role Play can you get this excellent Nick Belt Coat outfit from FATEplay for 25% off in white or midnight colors, and the Dueling Gloves. The gloves come with a color hud, and the ability to have hands open, closed, long cuff (like I used above), or short. The Vampire Squid is wearing an AMAZING skin by Pink Fuel that that fills all your Drow needs for both girls, femboys, and guys. It has tintable eyebrows and every applier you will ever need! (Slink hands/feet, Lola, Lush, Puffi, loud mouth, phat/cuteazz, ghetto booty. wowmeh, and perkies) Femboys might have already have tried and worn the Pink Fuels skins but those of you new to this let me explain how it works. You wear the normal girl skin, than choose either Boi or Athletic Boy tattoo later. This replaces the female breast and groin with a male version. What you end up with a lovely angelic male. This means the skin can be worn on either a male or female base avatar. If you want to give it a try, check out the demo! For the image above, I am wearing my normal male shape, but I have used the Boi version of Pink Fuels on male-on-female-base in the past.  This new Drow series is even better then the past Boi styles! Contraption has a cool helmet at We <3 RolePlay that's great for wearing while shoving coal in your steam submarine engine, or just decorating your unground lair and looking cool! On the wall is a Steam Furnace from Ravenghost. The detail and style of his work is wonderful. In the gacha area of WLRP, his Steampunk Luminaires has returned! I was so happy to see it was back and gave it another try. Good thing I did because I won the rare! Woot! From the Fantasy Gacha, is the mesh Victory boots for men by Yasum. Don't miss these! From World Goth Fair, I am wearing a cool light red to purple hair color from the Declan hair for men by Damselfly. While you are there, be sure to pick up the free Damselfly gift for men and women. The red-orange wingback chair comes from the WGF Salon Set by Nacht. It comes with matching couch, chair, and table and it's a 50% donation. To the left is the Graphic Chair Octopus by Bauwerk. It's editable mesh so I gave the chair a tint to match my color theme. I did something even more crazy with Bauwerk's nice Gothic Gazebo, I combined it with the Skybox by Trompe Loeil! Each section of the Gazebo is editable. It's really beautiful on its own but if you need to, you can also transform it like I did!

MWFW: Inside the Photographer's Studio

Fashion Week.... Designer's race to make final touches to their collection. Promotional shots are taken. Then the moment arrives. Models prepare as stylist and makeup artists buzz around them. Outside the murmurs of an excited crowd. Cameras poised. The lights dim. The music starts. A breath is held, then the magic begins as the models parade down the runway. This thriving culture isn't limited to the real world, it's in SL too. This week I have been swept up in it and inspired by the hard working designers who bring stylish new looks for the guys. Mens Wear Fashion Week has began! Designer XAIJ's collection has 8 complete outfits with a monochrome theme. Each item comes with a hud that allows you switch around the textures from white, light grey, grey, dark grey, to black. The Suitcases and Breifcases on the ground are a cool gacha by Blvck Anchor at MWFW. They are wearable and trigger a pose. MensWear Fashion Week ends May 3rd.

Tableau Vivant fans, I have a great news for you. The T.V. group now has a benefit for members. For each hair you buy in the store you earn a 50L store credit and fatpack will earn you 200L credit. Just wear your group tag when you make a purchase to earn credits. The Noel hair I am wearing above have been updated, you can get your update at the main store. Is this Koolqa Knight skin great for what? Two tones of the Knight skin are on sale at The Men's Department 2nd anniversary for 350L. Don't miss that. I went to the main store and picked up the Knight appliers for the Slink hands and feet, however I think they meant to match the main skintone line and not the one on sale at TMD. The Silvers didn't really line up well, but on the image above I think it's passable. (Image is not retouched for color.) The necklace by Mandala is great with 3 lengths in mesh and a hud to change around the textures. Comes in male and female. The Aggressive Intentions makeup by Lovely Disarray you can pick up at the Big Show on sale 25% off.  The mesh low top shoes by Super Kingdom are some of my favorites. Let me tell you a little more about this set. I had the idea to build a photographer's studio in New York City in keeping with the NYC theme of MWFW this year. The skybox is by Off Brand Furniture. When you touch the ceiling, you can change the wall and the floor textures, and also the city view from NY daytime to different views of Tokyo. The lights and photographer's backdrop are from Abranimations. The backdrop comes with poses in it which are controlled by a hud. The hud also has the best eye controller in SL! Love it. The lights all work too but I preferred to make my own lighting. The cool dressing room scrims, director's chairs, and fashion rack are from an old House of Fox gacha at a past Arcade. And I very pleased to tell you it's back! (I always wished I had the complete set. Just one more to go....) The camera is from a SAAL gacha. It doesn't appear to be available anymore. Completing the set are the trusses from LUI. They are mesh sections and comes in 4 textures.

I'm wearing two different makeups from Lovely Disarray. The Eyeliner from Amazon Trio is very nice, and I love this stripe on the lip in the Ophidian set. The Haruka hair by Argrace is now located at the main store. Necklace Kotowari once more by Mandala but this time the short length version.
