Midnight Order : Haunted

STORYLINE: The moonlight glinted on the ripples of the Mississippi as I ducked into an overgrown secret garden on the bank. My presence was noticed, it was as if suddenly all the life of the bayou held its breath, terrified what I might do. They say it's never a good idea to bring back the dead. I'm proof of that. But how can I ignore what the scholars of the Dark Arts Academy revealed to me? Could they be trusted? Certainly not. My life is literally an open book. It would be simple for them to lure me in knowing my weaknesses. And yet, how I could I not try? She was my daughter....  Even as I cleared the decaying leaves from the wrought iron table for the spiritboard, I thought about what they said. It haunted my nightmares. A vampire is immortal. Even separated from its body, the soul continues to be bound to the Earth. I made quick work of filling the goblet with blood, and placing a belonging of hers, an old doll. Could she really be here, lingering in her favorite place to hide? Was she even her anymore?

Its the end of the world.... This mix of Apocalypse demon and nuclear bomb worship was inspired by inZoxi's warhead throne, the very cool looking Lilithe tattoos, and Static Goetia gacha hoods at Aenigma's Post Apocalyptic event.

The Barnstormer - Genesis Lab Summer 2017

STORYLINE: The horrors of the first World War finally came to an end. Life was returning to normal. But for a few daring fighter jocks, the fun was just beginning. In the heartlands of the USA, their biplanes roared past red barns, sending frightened cows fleeing. Above the gently swaying fields of corn, the retired Aces charged at each other in death defying ariel acrobatics. The crowd below Oooed and Ahhhed. They could put on one hell of show. Freedom never tasted so sweet.

The image above was created for the Genesis Summer 2017 contest. The idea for it was inspired by the contest's August color theme palette. It reminded me of midwestern red barns, blue skies, and golden fields..., which then lead me to the idea of a Barnstormer. The focus of the picture is the Ethan Bento 3.0 mesh head Rare from the last Arcade round. The head comes with an insane amount of perks: animations, single poses, ears, eye with multiple color options, bento rigged teeth and tongue and colored braces and tongue piercing with options different colors, eye makeups, bruises, scratches, tattoos, beauty marks, eye bags, camouflage, bloody nose, skin sheen setting, and for vampires there are even fangs, bloody lips, and bloody teeth. AWESOME! The skin appliers are separate drops in the gacha.  For my background I used the infamous SL Cornfield which is now a fun game you can play at Portal Park.

Bats in the Cave

STORYLINE: So he was little obsessed with swords, no big deal. So shiny and sharp, he couldn't help himself. He collected them like a rat building a nest. They said he was "batty" or had "bats in the cave" which was just another way to say "a screw loose." But he had to admit, there just something cool about bats. They hid in caves and only came out at night. A cave was a great place to hide his collection. In fact, he decided the bat would be his totem animal. Yeah. A rat that can fly. He liked it, it was fitting.

Release the Bats! This past Sunday was World Goth Day, and in honor of the event I thought it would be fun to take a trip to the Batcave. *winks* Fantasy Gacha Carnival is back. Shown above is excellent new Gladiator FGC gacha by Gabriel that includes collar, boots, pants, belt, and gloves. Each items comes in a fit for Slink, TMP, Niramyth, or classic avatar. Each item is fitted, so it will conform your shape. Also at FGC, is the nice Hands of Fate Sword by Random Matter. It's a prop sword, and a very nice one to have.  From the 2nd round of Epicene is the fun Bat Helmet by Krova. Its non-rigged, so you can edit it for a a good fit.  Also at Epicene is the Sacred Tattoo by Dappa.  I used it along with the Fallen Gods Fallenstien Demon tattoo for 2 toned skin. The main body color is actually the new Fallen Gods pink skin Sidera Rose on sale at The Fantasy Collective.  Matching that pink skin is the Remarkable Oblivion Wocky Wings from the Alice in the Wonderland gacha. The older Remarkable Oblivion Malificient Head Wings you can still find in the marketplace.  From We <3 Roleplay is wicked Iron Throne by Death Row Designs. I love this original take on the Iron Throne. It includes single poses for male, and female, couples, and adult.  This picture was taken in the Fanatik mesh cave.

The Toy Maker

STORYLINE: Nicoli All-Seeing had a problem. One year had passed since the Goodwill Killer struck London. Those who helped the unfortunate had their life sucked away. Now there were not enough toys to give the orphans, and christmas was tomorrow. A feeling of hopeless begun to overtake Nicoli. None of his assurances that the Goodwill Killer had been caught seemed to matter. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. The strange young man named Elfie shook the ancient immortal's hand furiously as his eyes sparkled wildly with glee. He claimed he was Nicoli's biggest fan and asked for his autograph. Elfie produced a small wooden toy from his bag for him to sign. Nicoli turned it over and remarked how wonderfully the toy was made. Elfie grinned proudly and told him he was a toy maker; Nothing made him happier than to see a child smile.  Nicoli got an idea. "Elfie, I know this short notice, but can you help me make 25 toys for the St. Mary's in time for Christmas?" Elfie didn't give it a moment's thought. "Yes, of course! I have lots of toys! I would be delighted to help!"

STORYLINE: Much has been written about the boy who never grew up, but few know the true genesis of the tale. Behind the sweeping adventures in Neverland, there was always the sound of a ticking clock. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock.... Perhaps one needs to look no further than the archenemy of the boy, Captain James Hook, for an insight on what was really going on. Hook was forever trying to kill Peter. But isn't it odd the fearless pirate grew weak at the sight of blood?

Enchantment is going on strong with many wonderful creations, live performances, and of course the popular hunt. This round's theme is Peter Pan. Each round I enjoy making my own twist to the fairy tale. This time I found an interesting detail about story's creation, I hope you enjoy it. ... Shown above is the Pan Pants by Pucca Firecaster. They come in male and female, two leg lengths (one long and one for boots), and also include a hud for texture change. The pants are mod, so you can tint them too. The wonderful Admiral hat is by Remarkable Oblivion. You can get red, blue, brown, or black. The hats come with a resize script. The Skull and Crossbones eyepatch is from the gacha by Astralia. By AiShA is Corsair Hook Hand. There were several other hook styles, this one worked great for me under the coat and it's rigged. In the background is the Neverland Clock by 22769 ~ [bauwerk]. The clock keeps time and makes noises too. Finishing out my outfit is the jacket, sash, tattoo, and necklaces by BareRose's Pirate Emperor. The boots from The Raider outfit by Quality Designs. They are sculpted prim that attach to the upper leg and foot. The traditional Captain Hook has a black ringlet wig but I would much rather rock a Jack Sparrow style so I used the No Smoke dreadlocks by No.Match. They come in both male and female fit. The goatee is by Scared, and the sword with texture change hud is by Kalopsia. The Season 5 ears by Mandala are awesome! I picked them up during the 12 Days of Savings going on right now in the marketplace. Just type "12 Days of Christmas" in the search and you can see all the deals. Bling Angel! This one took me a long time to figure out how to style, but the results are great. From the Fantasy Gacha is the Halo by Souzou Eien. The gacha is interesting because I wasn't aware there are symbolic halo shapes for higher angels. I used the Archangel halo for Aziraphale. From Swagga is the the Archangel Sword and Crown. For the crown, I wanted to use the wings on the ears but not the crown, so I made that part transparent. The Sword is a prop but if you want to drop weapon scripts in it you can since its mod. The sword has a bit of a steampunk vibe, so the Cila Mechanical wings at The Secret Affair match it pretty well. The Mechanical wings are a gacha and include a resize script. The blingtastic outfit is Xerxes by EMO-motions. Each piece is mod, so you can adjust it for a good fit. It's a fun outfit to have, you can find it in the accessories section at the mainstore. Over the top of the chest and neck pieces, is the Gabriel Lion Necklace. The last piece of heavy metal are the gauntlets by Remarkable Oblivion. They come with a hud to change the colors and hand pose, they animate too!  By Tableau Vivant is the new skin TOX on sale at The Mens Department. The Fantasy Gacha Carnival is opening tomorrow, November 6th, with the themes of Silver, Gold, Angels, and the Dark Side of the Moon. This post is inspired by the devilish outfit by !gO! and the book Good Omens (that was featured in a past A Tattered Page). I really loved the book and I'm delighted to get a chance to return to the theme of Angels and Demons. The !gO! furry pants are a first of their kind in sl! They are perfect for demons and dwellers in the colder regions of SL. The pants come in long and short styles to make it easier for you to wear boots or digitigrade legs. The cape has a hood, and works best if you wear an alpha to cover the ears. The belts are wonderful and be worn without the cape. The upper horns are Sahara'S Elya Horns also at the Fantasy Gacha. The lower horns from the past Fantasy Gacha by Aisling. The tattered Azrael Bone Wings by Remarkable Oblivion are on sale at We <3 Role Play. This fun very green skin Moss is by Fallen Gods and includes so many great appliers. I used the Omega one for the Slink Body. To  match my Death Row Creature Legs, I added the Dragon Scales Omega Applier by Even-tide. Mr Crawly's Snake tongue is by DownDownDown. Touch it and you can change the color. Its mod so you can scale and resize it how you want. For make up, I used the Trickster eyeliner from Dusk by [ni.Ju], and Noir chapstick by Random Matter. Origami: The Ghosts of August

STORYLINE: Like a firefly flickering in the still night air, The Wasp waited to sting. The sacred jars connecting the worlds of the living and the dead had been unsealed. Unholy specters were invading the Temple of Magnolia Mound. Like a flash of lightning, he struck, his enchanted blade dispatching the ghosts back to the netherworld.

One of the best events of the year, Origami RIN-NE is not to be missed! The Origami shopping event of traditional Japanese items has teamed up with the talented folks behind last year's horror adventure, Kagami. The sims are decorated full of spooky cool ambience and jumpscares. As you investigate the disappearance of a young girl, you will travel throughout a town being overrun by spirits. The story is based on the Yamata no Orochi myth. Be sure to look for the gold coins as you explore, they give fabulous prizes! (TIP: As you get near a coin you need, it will turn the RIN-NE red on your hud. Quick as a Bunny Takeout of the Congo

STORYLINE: There was nothing quite like racing down the thick muddy waters of the Congo with his pet fennec by his side. Schools of wading waterfowl would squawk loudly their displeasure as his steamplane roared past. Together with an old mate, they formed a takeout restaurant. The food turned out to be a hit with the locals and tourists. And he relished every chance he got to race along the waterways delivering steaming spicy foods.

This post was inspired by the SL12B party held by Linden Labs at the Wilderness sim. It's a multi-sim jungle with lots of fun things to do. For my explorations on the Dark Continent, I'm wearing the new FATEwear Belo camouflage texture shorts. They some with full length pants too. I'm using an unusual bonus color that's in scripted fatpack. The Phillips hoodie is also using a bonus color from it's fatpack. I like the two tone fades. You can wear the hoodie up or down. I'm using several designers for my Steampunk Safari style. The Steampunk boots, belt, and bag by Death Row are in the current round of The Arcade. It's an entire gacha of clothing and accessories for men! Many good pieces can be won.  From Swagga is the awesome animated Flutter robo-dragon pet. He's holding the picnic basket from the Linden Premium member gifts for the beach. The steampunk Bunny Mask is also by Swagga. It was a free gift for the Seraphim's birthday party. The retro mic earphones are by Remarkable Oblivion, as well as the Messenger bag. The adorable Fennec is by Half Deer and it's a gacha at Kustom 9. I love fennecs. They come in various poses, and the one here in the image is the animating rare that walks along with you. The bracelets and rings are by Mandala and they come with a texture change hud.  I used these awesome old school prim socks by Rosem to poke out from the boots. I serious need more things like this. And another thing I need is collar like thing to work on the TheMeshProject body. The hack I used actually a free headband by Modern Elegance I turned into a collar. It has a "don't look under the collar and see my vampire bite" sort of feel and I like it. lol And the last gem to finish off my Steam Safari style is the fun BareRose Steam Hummingbird plane. You wear it and it appears like you are flying around. Love it. It can be won in the raffle by camping out at BareRose.

Akaneiro Oni - Blade for Hire

STORYLINE: Akaneiro was an Oni gone rogue, a hired muscle. He was known for being a capable Ronin, but few of the dwellers in the village realized what he was hiding under his hat, his tale-tell Oni horns.

I have a treat for you guys today, a fantastic sim I discovered! Soyokaze is a role playing sim that's beautifully made in the Edo Japan period. They locals are friendly (unless you draw a sword like I did for this picture. Drawing a sword is seen as invitation to get into a fight. lol) There is a cool interactive game on this sim, The Code of the Bushido. Some quests are puzzles, some require a 2nd person, and one of them requires skills and practice to pass. I recommend it for all fans of games in SL.

Before you head to the sim to explore and play, you will need to dress for the part. Above I am wearing an awesome new creation by Swagga, Ronin's Soul. It's one piece fitted mesh and it includes the top, pants, belt, two sheathed katana, and a water bottle. It's on sale now at We <3 Role Play. The Oni pauldron, bracers are an excellent new gacha by Pucca Firecaster. Touch the armor to resize it and it will also deliver to you a texture change hud.  All parts can be resized in the edit menu. The hat is another gacha item, but this one is by 22769 bauwerk. It was from a past Secret Affair, and sadly looks like it's no longer available. (I couldn't find it at the main store location.) The geta are by CerberusXing, and I added a fun tint to them. They can work with either slink or TMP feet, they not rigged and editable. For fun, I added the deep red nail polish by Senzafina. It's just one hud and it will add color to both hands and feet at the same time.

STORYLINE: It was not his lack of skill or Oni magic that got him captured, it was bad intel on how heavily fortified his objective was. Still, he made an oath to return to the Sacred Oni Lands once he escaped. He sensed the Oni had lost too much power. The humans had grown too bold. They no longer feared creatures such as him. He decided it was better to die in a last stand among his brothers and sisters then to suffer the humiliation of being captured by humans again.

World Goth Fair: What We Do In Cursed, 1

STORYLINE: Good evening mortals. Welcome to Cursed's 4th annual World Goth Fair. As relations between The Dark and Humans normalize, we hope a tour of the city with opportunities to meet our colorful denizens will help promote understanding and trust. I am Commander Ashe of the Night Troops. I will be your escort. We are not that much different than you. We creatures of the night put on our black leather pants one leg at a time too. But if I were you, I would not lag behind. Some of the residents have more hunger than sense. Follow me.

The bats have left the belltower, its time to get your Goth on! The World Goth Fair is open! Each year World Goth Fair tries something new: things that didn't work out get dropped, and new ideas are tried. There will be staggered releases throughout the event, and several on May 22 for World Goth Day itself. And I am excited to tell you this year a little batty whispered in my ear something very special is going to happen. Something that uses the words "Gothic Bands" and "LIVE in SecondLife" in the same sentence. Watch the official World Goth Fair blog for an official statement, bands, and times!
