World Goth Fair: What We Do In Cursed, 1

STORYLINE: Good evening mortals. Welcome to Cursed's 4th annual World Goth Fair. As relations between The Dark and Humans normalize, we hope a tour of the city with opportunities to meet our colorful denizens will help promote understanding and trust. I am Commander Ashe of the Night Troops. I will be your escort. We are not that much different than you. We creatures of the night put on our black leather pants one leg at a time too. But if I were you, I would not lag behind. Some of the residents have more hunger than sense. Follow me.

The bats have left the belltower, its time to get your Goth on! The World Goth Fair is open! Each year World Goth Fair tries something new: things that didn't work out get dropped, and new ideas are tried. There will be staggered releases throughout the event, and several on May 22 for World Goth Day itself. And I am excited to tell you this year a little batty whispered in my ear something very special is going to happen. Something that uses the words "Gothic Bands" and "LIVE in SecondLife" in the same sentence. Watch the official World Goth Fair blog for an official statement, bands, and times!

The massive Pose Fair 2015 ends today. If you haven't dropped by yet, don't miss it! There are poses for girls, guys, couples, dance animations, ... and something totally new to me, HUDS!

Shown above is the Tillies Hud. I am totally a new to using a hud helper for my picture taking, but it's amazing. I'm kicking myself for not doing this sooner! I've been experimenting with the different tools in this hud. One part of the hud am I am crazy in love with, -- being able to save multiple camera positions! Now when I crash while taking a picture, I can return right back where I was. THERE ARE 10 CAMERA SAVES! This is so amazing. Think about it, say you are making vendor pictures of a product. You want the images to be consistent and only the product or avatar changes, right? Well this with handy tool you can save you camera positions for your ads and your vendor pictures will be consistant for today, tomorrow, even a year from now! As long as you keep your camera preset, you are good to go. It works on all viewers. The hud also has sets for poses, saves windlights, changes backdrop, and more. The outfit I am wearing above is in a fun color theme from FATEwear, Highlands. (That's fancy speak for PANK. lol) The Belfort coat comes with a wool collar, shirt, vest and tie. I love canes, so any excuse I get to use one I will go for. lol Topping off this Jazz pose by Le poppycock is the Souzou Eien Dapper Cane. It comes with a hud to change the wood and metal colors. The setting props by Apple Fall are from the Paris gacha now located at the mainstore.

Dev’s How To Guide for the Tillies v5  Hud Camera Control:

How to Save a Camera Angle:

1) Position camera where you want it. 

2) On the upper left side, select the camera icon.

3) Choose a number in the circles on the right side of the hud.

4) Click once to turn it pink.  (meaning you have selected it)

5) Click it again to turn it purple (meaning the camera angle is now saved)

6) Move your camera where ever you like.

How to return to a Saved Camera Angle:

1) When you want to return to a saved camera position, hit the esc key on your keyboard.

2) Now choose one of the numbers in the purple circles on the right side of the hud.

3) Click it.  Wa La! Camera angle is restored!

Q: But Dev, what if I crash?

A: Crashing is when the saved camera positions will really save you time! The hud saves the camera, so you can restore and pick right up where you left off before the crash.

Q: Ok cool, but what if I want to switch viewers?

A: No problem! I tried it in both Firestorm and the Official Viewer. The camera angle was exactly the same, doesn't matter what viewer you choose!  Pretty cool, huh?  ^^  (TIP: you can use the Save Windlights presets to transfer your lighting also when moving to anther viewer.)

Q: Oh I spammed up all my Saved Camera Positions, how do I get rid of them?

A: Simple, see below.

How to delete Camera Positions

1) Select the saved position you want to delete. (it will turn pink when selected)

2) Now look on your hud in upper left side for the Skull and Crossbones.

3) Click it. Boom! Saved position is now gone and the circle returns to grey (blank).

How can shuffle through camera positions quickly? (yes, I am lazy) lol

1) Next to the Skull and Crossbones are two arrows on either side of the letters “Cam”

2) Click those to shuffle quickly through your saved camera positions.

Adventures in Linden Lab's Winter Wonderland

When I heard about Linden Labs' new Winter Wonderland destination, I did a happy dance. This was exactly what I hoped the Labs would do when they asked for suggestions a few months ago. I really enjoyed the Haunted House ride for Halloween. This new addition is even larger! The Linden Portal has become a busy place. Love it!

Winter Wonderland is 4 connecting sims. It all mesh and looks great with advanced lighting and materials. When you land, be sure to accept the Experience Keys when they pop up. In the town zone, there are gifts for everyone, be sure to pick those up. You can catch the fireworks show at the top of each hour. In the snowball fight zone, you can choose from Snow Pistol or Snow Rifle. Members of the premium club have a 3rd choice, the Snow Bazooka. (NOTE: To get the premium gifts, go the Linden sandbox and click the gift vendors. Wear the Ribbon and Medal to get the extra options. Not a member? Right now there is a 50% off sale to join.) The weapons for snowball fight work inside the snowball zone. To use the snow guns outside the sim, you need to wear the gift versions. Over in park zone, The Ferris Wheel has a funny sign. To seat two people it's tricky, but keep trying. One person on the left and the other on the right. There are free skates in the ice rink, and you can customize your skates too. Over on the race track zone, you can choose a snowboard or snowmobile. The snowmobile can seat 2 people. Watch out on the snowboard, it has a jetpack on the back. You can easily fly off the course and land on someone's head. ...Maybe that's why one of them boards looks like a giant bandaid. lol

To shoot the video I used SL Go on firestorm. It makes it possible for me to film with advanced lighting with fast frame rate. I even blazed around the track with no lagging. Sweet! The service is $10 a month. January is currently free for those would were subscribers in December, due a teleport bug on the official viewer. I really loving being able to shoot video now. The Conservatory 2

STORYLINE: On his way to rendezvous with Lady Edelweiss, the Black Baron became suspicious he was being followed.

The outside of the Trompe Loeil Iona Conservatory at night with the street lights is just phenomenal. The materials and lighting work together to create awesome depth like the shiny copper roof, and sheen to the tile floor. I added scaled up Noctis paperweight Gargoyles out front. They're from the from the Gothmas Tree and Gargoyle set. Inside I created a lush plant grouping with a fountain I hacked. The serene looking mermaid has been replaced by a gargoyle spitting out blood. Hey, a blood fountain is way cooler. lol ...But you may be looking at this fancy guy. He's wearing the beautifully detailed Richelieu gold glasses by AIR. They come with chain either the left or right side, and a resize script. The pipe is a group gift by Epia. Hair is a new release by Tableau Vivant available at the main store. And the warm red Aran Knit sweater is a Men Only Hunt hunt prize by ::K::. It comes in male and female, with under shirt and without out. The head is the new TheMeshProject Anime head, it's perfect for villainous bishounen styles! (I will make a separate post about it to tell you more if time allows.)

STORYLINE: After an enjoyable evening with Lady Edelweiss, The Black Baron got down to business. Shipments of Royal Blood were being attacked by a criminal gang calling themselves The Wrath of Horus. The disruptions of the blood supply were unforgivable. He reviewed the latest military gadgets, such as the biplane bomber, and drew up a battle plan to ambush the crooks. Unknown to him, a raven listened closely to his plans, then silently disappeared up into the night sky.

The cozy Mission Armchair set by Artisan Fantasy comes in either warm or dark wood. It has 2 solo unisex animations, 4 female, 4 male, 5 cuddles, 3 adore, and 5 adult. The ottoman has 4 solo animations, 5 adult, and 6 punishment. To the left is the Roawenwood Sleek Bondage chair. It comes in either light or dark, with RLV or non-RLV, and 18 animations. When you touch the radio controller, the plane will take off and fly and then drop temp rez bombs before landing. Fun. MWFW: Inside the Photographer's Studio 2

It was two years ago on April 30th, when my blog began with an idea of mixing two different styles to create something new: "Fashion Mash-up: Motley Crue vs Tomb Raider." Today, I'm going to do it  again! Gothic vs Hip Hop! This unholy mix was inspired by the thick Cuban Link chain necklace by Illmatic XY. It comes with a hud to change the texture from gold to silver, but it also included black. So that's what got my wheels rolling on this idea. lol The B-Boy shorts from SWaGGa are awesome! They're fitted mesh and come with a hud to change the textures on your peek-a-boo undies and pants. There is a matching Hip Hop hoodie SWaGGa too, be sure to check that out. The Cropped Sweatshirt by Illmatic XY comes in several colors. This loud Flamingo color is too fun, and it perfectly matches the Maiko hair by Truth. The heavy metal MechanizedCuff are by STONE Baubles for Men. Just in time for the summer are these non-rigged mesh sandals by Pure Poison for the Slink male flat foot. This nice pale skin is Knight silver by Kooqla. Anime fans might catch my allude on the MWFW models for today. Blame Ayashi because her Kira hair also works great for the Mod style of this suit by Blvck Anchor. Gothmas: The Ghost of Jacob Marley

STORYLINE: Christmas Eve 1836, Jacob Marley,  the wealthy banking partner of Ebenezer Scrooge, was rushing home ahead of a freak blizzard. A homeless man caught out in the open tried to flag him down for help. Rather than stop to give aid, Marley commanded the carriage onward. The desperate man made a sudden move to jump onto the back of the carriage. The horses were spooked, bolted wildly, and slipped on the ice. The carriage fell over London Bridge and crashed into the Thames river. Marley had no friends other than Scrooge. No one noticed he was missing Christmas Day. His body was later discovered entombed in the ice. Now his ghost is condemned forever to walk the Earth weighed down by the chains of selfishness and greed.

It's time to explore the darkside of the biggest holiday of the year with a dash of Victorian elegance, and wink at the wicked. The stellar World Goth Fair gang returns with another fantastic event Gothmas by Gaslight. It's 2 sims of gothic goodness: adult sim Cursed, and moderate sim Sium. Now let me tell you a little more about this outfit. The chains and shackles are part of a slave silk set for men by Soedara on sale at We <3 Role Play. The chains that connect the wrists to the ankles are actually a particles effect and it works pretty good following your movements. The suit is all one piece in mesh by Fuubutsu Dou at Gothmas. It's a cool design of a half jacket half vest, with straps on the sleeve, and I love the Victorian style drape at the foot. The bowtie is a separate attachment. This sweet cane is in a gacha by Chaos, Panic, and Disorder and it's 25L a spin at Gothmas. The hair by Ayashi for men comes with cute antlers and you can get it at that RMK Frost Fair. Just click the vendor to scroll through the color packs. The hair is non rigged and can scale xyz. The lantern by LISP is really nice and comes with a pose. You can win it at the current round of The Arcade. The gold eyes are the current group gift at Ikon.

One Hell of a Butler

There is something suspicious about that butler... I wonder what it is?

Ayashi released the new non-rigged mesh hair for men, Sebastian, I knew I had to try and see what I could come up with for a demon butler. The hair comes with X,Y, Z resize script for the perfect fit, and a color set hud. Ayashi has a new store at RMK Gothic! You can find it in the Dark Town section of the sim. Adding an elegant, yet studious, feel is the Angela Glasses by AIR.  You can touch it and change the frame color and the gem stones. The off the shoulder rigged coat is by DIRAM. An alpha hides your arms, and has two fake hands attached to the upper thigh. It comes with a color hud to change the skintone, but I went with a white glove look. The coat in many different colors, I choose a nice English tweed. The vest, shirt, collar and tie are included. The pocketwatch is mesh by House of Rain and has detail of tiny skulls and garnet. The pants are from the Smith suit set by Fatewear. The gloves in the close up are also by Fatewear and include materials that photographed here beautifully. Skin Noctis by Tableau Vivant you can find at the Boystown location. These awesome red eyes are by Aii. I swapped the shirt under the vest with SF Designs' because it had the tuxedo style I was looking for, and also, it's the best free tux in SL, imho. My favorite shiny shiny dress shoes are by PixelFashion. The candelabra I got the October Collabor88, but you can find it at the main store now. Touch the candle to change the color cream, teal, mead, black magic, royal, or brandy. Flames are particles. And my lastly, my current gothic abode is the Ivy Tower by Poetica.

Year of the Snake

2013 is The Year of the Snake. I camped at Barerose and won this wicked cool new snake shoulder pet. *pets his precious scaly skin gumdrops* I love him. I also love this very cool new jacket from RokumeikaN. It's mesh with a texture change hud: 6 jacket, 6 shirt, and 6 ties textures. I had a blast mixing and matching looks from UK punk, to English librarian, to Goth Mod. The eyepatch and earrings are the Year of the Snake theme January group gift at WTG. The pants from Tableau Vivant are a lowrise skinny pant with cool straps on the sides that line up with the jacket perfectly. My worn out loafers I replaced with these new shiny mesh Bradfords that remind me of a gothic winklepicker. The silvery setting is the nice free art gallery by Scarlet Creative.
