The Hand That Gives Takes Away

STORYLINE: It had been a cruel fate how the A.N.G.E.L. was cursed with eternal life. If not for the cannonball that blasted off his arms during 100 Years War, his might have become a legend. As the pool of blood grew, a dark shadow fell over him blocking out the moonlight. "Great warrior," it whispered. He had assumed it was the Grim Reaper. "Leave the petty disputes of mortals behind. Come. Be a Knight of Eternity." Surviving death appealed to him, so he accepted. But without his arms how he could fight? He was helpless. It was a cruel irony. Refusing to give up, he learned the secrets of dark magic and borrowed limbs from corpses. However it was never truly satisfying until he discovered the wonders of the 21st century, -- cybernetics.

The Castle of the Marquis d'Auvergne, 4

STORYLINE: The rockstar removed his sunglasses and tapped on the keys of a small organ tucked in the corner dungeon cell. "Have you heard this song before, Monsieur Gustave?" The sound echoed in the stone chamber producing deep resonating tones. The old man shook his head. "My great great grandmother, Nanette was a pianist. She played at the local theater. One day The Lion kissed her fingers and said, 'Teach me to play as beautifully and I shall love you forever.'" The old man took his flashlight away from the rockstar for a moment. Sweat dripped down his face as he noticed his patron's eyes glowed red in the dark. He wiped his forehead, and continued. "All members of the Marquis' family died, including The Lion, who had sought his fortune in Paris as an actor. The only clue as to what happened to him was a letter to Nanette expressing his worry he was being stalked by some unearthly creature. The Marquis willed his castle to Nanette. Not long after, her body was found outside in the snow." The old man suddenly slammed shut the heavy cell door. The rockstar seemed neither concerned nor surprised. He looked up at the trembling old man, his eyes blazing like flames, "Did you like it, the song? It's not everyday one hears a long lost sonata written by their great great grand-mère." 

Shown above is the new Princess Zeelia dress by Junbug on sale at Secret Affair. I could not resist doing it since it was named after the fabulous Zee.  Nanette is wearing two Highlands gacha necklace gacha by Junbug. Junbug just recently renovated thier mainstore. There is a huge sale dresses being retired marked down to 125L. Head over to the Junbug Sale here.   For a more romantic Regency style hair, I used the Cersei hair by Tableau Vivant. The wispy fringe on the bangs is from the Iris D!va hair.   The lovely Pearls of Narcissus necklace is by Souzou Eien. It comes with a hud to change the jewel colors and metal colors.   In her hand, is the Crimson Peak inspired candelabra by Zenith on sale at Shiny Shabby.   In the background are the coats of armor by Death Row in the Mystic Bastian gacha from the Arcade.   Also in the background is a lovely simple low LI baroque organ with 3 songs for only 9L.   The candles on the floor and the sheet music are from Noctis Abandoned Piano set. Touch the music and the song will begin to play.   The Dungeon setting by WinFactory was on sale 50% before the inworld store closed, but you can still find it for sale in the marketplace.

The Castle of the Marquis d'Auvergne, 3

STORYLINE: "This castle holds many secrets." The old man pushed a wooden wall panel. It groaned, then gave way revealing a hidden passage. The smell of mold and earth wafted up. "Come," the old man turned on his flashlight, "there is something I want to show you." The rockstar silently followed behind. Each step down seemed to descend deeper into the past. "The tale begins 1795 during the Reign of Terror. The blood of aristocrats dripped from the guillotines onto streets of Paris. Misery was everywhere. The Castle of the Marquis d'Auvergne was no exception." The old man guided them into a dungeon room containing a small quaint theater. "Here is the true treasure of the Lion. It wasn't gold or jewels," he gently padded the crumbling painted wood props. The rockstar jumped up on the stage and kicked the bones of a long dead rat out of his way in disgust. "The Lion was youngest son of the Marquis. He had no prospects in life. His family was finically ruined. It was expected the indebted castle itself would soon also be lost. The Lion created this stage himself after a failed attempt to runaway and join an acting troop. By day he hunting game for a living, and down here by night he did his heart's desire. In fact, this tiny theater is how the Lion met my great great grandmother Nanette. Fascinating, isn't it?"

The Secret Affair event is going on now with a theme of winter. From the event is the Luxurious Cape by Stitched has these awesome long sleeves that can be worn or hidden for a sleevesless look with a hud. Also at Secret Affair is the Thor necklace set and Eindride wreath by Plastik. The Wreath comes in all seasons, and a hud to change textures. The pants and boots by TURB work perfectly with the cape, they are from the rogue gacha. The Forest set is from the Studios gacha by Death Row, and the candles are part of the Abandoned Piano set by Noctis.

The Garden of Good and Evil, 2

STORYLINE: "Many people, meeting Aziraphale [the Angel of the Eastern Gate] for the first time, formed three impressions: that he was English, that he was intelligent, and that he was gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide. .... 'I think it was a bit of an over-reaction, to be honest,' said the serpent. 'I mean, first offense and everything. I can’t see what's so bad about knowing the difference between good and evil, anyway.'   'It must be bad,' reasoned Aziraphale, in the slightly concerned tones of one who can't see it either, and is worrying about it, 'otherwise you wouldn’t have been involved.'   'They just said, Get up there and make some trouble,' said the serpent.   'Yes, but you’re a demon. I’m not sure if it's actually possible for you to do good,' said Aziraphale. 'It's down to your basic, you know, nature. Bling Angel! This one took me a long time to figure out how to style, but the results are great. From the Fantasy Gacha is the Halo by Souzou Eien. The gacha is interesting because I wasn't aware there are symbolic halo shapes for higher angels. I used the Archangel halo for Aziraphale. From Swagga is the the Archangel Sword and Crown. For the crown, I wanted to use the wings on the ears but not the crown, so I made that part transparent. The Sword is a prop but if you want to drop weapon scripts in it you can since its mod. The sword has a bit of a steampunk vibe, so the Cila Mechanical wings at The Secret Affair match it pretty well. The Mechanical wings are a gacha and include a resize script. The blingtastic outfit is Xerxes by EMO-motions. Each piece is mod, so you can adjust it for a good fit. It's a fun outfit to have, you can find it in the accessories section at the mainstore. Over the top of the chest and neck pieces, is the Gabriel Lion Necklace. The last piece of heavy metal are the gauntlets by Remarkable Oblivion. They come with a hud to change the colors and hand pose, they animate too!  By Tableau Vivant is the new skin TOX on sale at The Mens Department. Destined for Valhalla

STORYLINE: A Seer came from across the sea to visit a child, named  Ragnar 'Hairy Breeches,' who was born to simple farmers in the northern lands. This infant," the Seer intoned slowly, "is smiled upon by Odin. A great destiny awaits him."

The current round of Secret Affair has a Valhalla theme with lots of wonderful Viking themed items. This image was inspired by the awesome viking ship crib by Artisan Fantasy. Touch it, and will begin to rock. The set coming with animal skin rugs, crib, mobile, artwork, rocking chair, and trunk. The chair and truck contain animations. The set has two color themes: warm (shown above), and the lighter weathered theme. The other decor pieces, large animal rugs, plank chair, game table, and candelabra, are by Roawenwood. The plank chair comes several varieties, draped, decorated, and plain. The game is decoration only. On the floor by the crib is the Norse Lamp by Pure Poison. The two shields are gacha from FDD Stories, and the Axe is fully melee scripted by EX Weaponry. The house is the Sigrun's Lodge by Frogstar.  The Seer's mask and staff are by Lab737. The Hercules shirt is by Peqe and comes in blue, green, tan, and red. And necklace The Plastik. The necklace comes in cord or chain, and can change metal and gemstone colors. From past Fantasy Gacha's are the !gO Forest Fighter kilt, Floki pants, and Forest Elf cape and fur. The Outworlder boots are by Swagga. Sandstorm Ambush

STORYLINE: Flamma was a legend in Rome. Originally a captured soldier from Syria, he was given a choice: be a slave and fight in the coliseum, or be free and executed. The Flame had a taste for battle. He fought 34 times and won all but 4 matches in a draw. The highest honor a gladiator can achieve is their freedom. He had won it long ago, but choose to keep fighting. 

Did you guys give a nice Roman Thumbs-Up for the Secret Affair's Gladiator round?  Yes, yes, so much excellence. Shown above to the right is the Stony Hollow Potter's Tent by Artisan Fantasy. It's a gacha set with 10 pieces. The Pony Palms are by The Little Branch. The Persian sit pillows are by Zerkalo, 2li and Dance Pit comes in adult and pg, 3li.   Flamma is wearing a brand new Kat skin by Tableau Vivant on sale for 300L at The Men's Department. The nice bold eyebrows looks great on the Mesh Project head! Also by Tableau Vivant is the facial stubble, and the Unkempt Hair on sale at Shiny Shabby. It worked pretty good for a Roman look combined with the hairbase by Unorthodox. The gold eyes are by Ikon. STORYLINE: The senate was testing Caesar's patience. He commanded the ringleader of the troublemakers, Marcus Vinicius, to leave immediately on an "important" diplomatic trip to Egypt. The ornery senator refused to go unless his favorite gladiator, Flamma, served as his personal guard. Neither the stubborn senator, or the famed gladiator suspected the Emperor was sending them into a trap.

I love these armors by Lab737. I used it for my gladitor but it can easily work on post apocalyptic too! They are mod so edited them to fit on the Niramyth upper body. Yes, I did a frankenbody, but that was because of the various fits to each piece. It actually came together reasonably well, but it's not perfect, there is a slight gap where TMP body meets the Slink foot, and the Niramyth neck with the TMP head. But hey, I'm happy I could pull this off! The Roman Sandals by Death Row are sized to fit slink. The Roman Bottom by The Body Factory had no problem fitting the seam at the TMP lower and Niramyth upper. The Laus Store gacha hip armor is mod so I sized it to fit. The PFC Hoplite cape I need to rez on the ground because it bent oddly when worn in this pose. By the way, I made that pose for this post. It's been a long time, I'm a little rusty. I want to give a big thanks to Zee, of store Oxi, for making a Gladius sword for me for this post. Thanks Zee! The spear staff and shield are by May Soul. The spear and dagger racks are by Death Row. The Chariot, also by Death Row, comes in clean and bloody, pg and adult poses. Veni, vidi, vici!
