The Wicked Wizard of the West

STORYLINE: Wesley was a drifter. He ran away from the orphanage when he was 17, and decided one day, "Hey, I want to go to college, yeah." It didn't matter he was not enrolled, he just sat down behind the prettiest girl in class and no one bothered to tell him to leave. Except Dorothy, of course. He poked her shoulder, pulled her hair, even shot spitballs at her but she always ignored him. When he found out her birthday was the next day, he got the idea to bring her flowers. Hey, girls love flowers, right? Well after picking a handful poppies, he fell asleep in the poppyfield and had the strangest dream. A tornado spoke to him. It called him The Great Antagonist of The Usurper. It offered him all its power, kingdom, and servants. "Sounds great, what's the catch?" he giggled in a poppy colored haze. "Water must never touch you." He laughed and accepted. The next morning he woke up strangely dressed with a powerful headache and a flying monkey asking, "Master. What is your heart's desire?" He couldn't help it. The very first thought that popped into his head was the birthday girl. Suddenly, he heard a scream above him. He looked up. It was Dorothy! She was falling from the sky! He dove and caught her just in time. Then Toto jumped out of her basket and bit him. "Hey! I saved you, stupid Mutt!" He glared at Toto and suddenly a muzzle materialized on little terrier. Both Wesley and Dorothy looked at each other and blinked.

My idea for this post was actually inspired a game and the witch theme items at the current round of the Fantasy Gacha Carnival. I had an idea to gender flip the Wicked Witch of the West, and then a few days later discovered Enchantment was doing the Wizard of Oz! So naturally I took it as a sign to go for it! So here is Wesley, the new mischief maker of Oz.

The Castle of the Marquis d'Auvergne, 5

STORYLINE: “You know too much to live," the rockstar's hand reached through the iron bars. His long fingers wrapped around his guide's throat. "Why risk confronting me this way? You could have accepted my offer and lived out the rest of your days a very wealthy man.” The old man’s heart thundered in his ears. His whole life he was in fear that one day he too would fall under the curse. "I needed to know," he whispered, hoping his voice sounded stronger than he felt, "The paintings in the castle...," It was getting harder for him to breath. "You are him, The Lion." The rockstar snarled and tightened his grip. "Wait!" the old man gasped. "Nanette, ...had a daughter." The rockstar's eyes flickered blue in confusion, his grip relaxed slightly. "The child was illegitimate. Your father gave the castle to Nanette, it was her child's birthright." The Lion stumbled backwards as if he had been punched. The old man caught his breath and continued, "I'm your great great grandson. And this," he whipped out his wallet and quickly flipped to a picture of a little boy who looked remarkably similar to The Lion. "Your family survives, just as this castle survives." The Lion snatched the picture and stared at it. A small tear of blood dropped down on it's glossy surface. "You are an exceptionally brave man, Monsieur Gustave." The Lion looked up once more at his host. This time wonder replaced malice in his eyes. His fingers traced the wrinkles on the old man's face that could easily have been his if he were mortal. Gustave breathed a little easier. Satisfied he was safe now, he unlocked the cell door. The Lion burst out, and pulled him into a tight embrace. "Thank you for telling me the truth."

Shown above is the wonderfully detailed new mesh AIR monocle,  Aria. It comes in either gold or silver. Both are mod, and come in right side or left side. Also, you can edit the hanging string for best position on poses. The Revolution Hat is from the Deadwool gacha. The cape is the Joffery gacha from Stitched. It works perfectly with the Regency outfit by Last Ride for a more early 1800s look. Right now their store is renovating but should be up soon. From Swagga is the also handy Leather Gloves that fit the The Mesh Project male body. Have you looked at just how beautiful this new skin, Tox, is for The Mesh Project head? I love the eyebrows and subtle shading on the nose and lips. But for this image, I used the bloody lips by Ghost'Ink. I hid the eyelashes on the TheMeshHead head and replaced them with the Gaeline mesh eyelashes. This allows me to have upper only lashes, and tint them a color other than default brown. I used the gradient texture so the tips are blond and roots brown/black. The Gaeline hud is very easy to use, so it not very hard to use the mesh lashes. This picture was taken at the beautiful new Paris Je T'aime sim. Don't miss it!

STORYLINE: The rockstar removed his sunglasses and tapped on the keys of a small organ tucked in the corner dungeon cell. "Have you heard this song before, Monsieur Gustave?" The sound echoed in the stone chamber producing deep resonating tones. The old man shook his head. "My great great grandmother, Nanette was a pianist. She played at the local theater. One day The Lion kissed her fingers and said, 'Teach me to play as beautifully and I shall love you forever.'" The old man took his flashlight away from the rockstar for a moment. Sweat dripped down his face as he noticed his patron's eyes glowed red in the dark. He wiped his forehead, and continued. "All members of the Marquis' family died, including The Lion, who had sought his fortune in Paris as an actor. The only clue as to what happened to him was a letter to Nanette expressing his worry he was being stalked by some unearthly creature. The Marquis willed his castle to Nanette. Not long after, her body was found outside in the snow." The old man suddenly slammed shut the heavy cell door. The rockstar seemed neither concerned nor surprised. He looked up at the trembling old man, his eyes blazing like flames, "Did you like it, the song? It's not everyday one hears a long lost sonata written by their great great grand-mère." 

Shown above is the new Princess Zeelia dress by Junbug on sale at Secret Affair. I could not resist doing it since it was named after the fabulous Zee.  Nanette is wearing two Highlands gacha necklace gacha by Junbug. Junbug just recently renovated thier mainstore. There is a huge sale dresses being retired marked down to 125L. Head over to the Junbug Sale here.   For a more romantic Regency style hair, I used the Cersei hair by Tableau Vivant. The wispy fringe on the bangs is from the Iris D!va hair.   The lovely Pearls of Narcissus necklace is by Souzou Eien. It comes with a hud to change the jewel colors and metal colors.   In her hand, is the Crimson Peak inspired candelabra by Zenith on sale at Shiny Shabby.   In the background are the coats of armor by Death Row in the Mystic Bastian gacha from the Arcade.   Also in the background is a lovely simple low LI baroque organ with 3 songs for only 9L.   The candles on the floor and the sheet music are from Noctis Abandoned Piano set. Touch the music and the song will begin to play.   The Dungeon setting by WinFactory was on sale 50% before the inworld store closed, but you can still find it for sale in the marketplace.

STORYLINE: Crawly was "an Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards. 'Funny thing is,' said Crawly, 'I keep wondering whether the apple thing wasn’t the right thing to do, as well. A demon can get into real trouble, doing the right thing.' He nudged the angel. 'Funny if we both got it wrong, eh? Funny if I did the good thing and you did the bad one, eh?' The Fantasy Gacha Carnival is opening tomorrow, November 6th, with the themes of Silver, Gold, Angels, and the Dark Side of the Moon. This post is inspired by the devilish outfit by !gO! and the book Good Omens (that was featured in a past A Tattered Page). I really loved the book and I'm delighted to get a chance to return to the theme of Angels and Demons. The !gO! furry pants are a first of their kind in sl! They are perfect for demons and dwellers in the colder regions of SL. The pants come in long and short styles to make it easier for you to wear boots or digitigrade legs. The cape has a hood, and works best if you wear an alpha to cover the ears. The belts are wonderful and be worn without the cape. The upper horns are Sahara'S Elya Horns also at the Fantasy Gacha. The lower horns from the past Fantasy Gacha by Aisling. The tattered Azrael Bone Wings by Remarkable Oblivion are on sale at We <3 Role Play. This fun very green skin Moss is by Fallen Gods and includes so many great appliers. I used the Omega one for the Slink Body. To  match my Death Row Creature Legs, I added the Dragon Scales Omega Applier by Even-tide. Mr Crawly's Snake tongue is by DownDownDown. Touch it and you can change the color. Its mod so you can scale and resize it how you want. For make up, I used the Trickster eyeliner from Dusk by [ni.Ju], and Noir chapstick by Random Matter. In the background is the Dysfunctionality Apple Orchard Tree, and The Devils Throne by Stockholm&Lima on sale at The Fantasy Collective.

Revenge of the SeaWitch, 2

STORYLINE: This is a special place. It belonged King Triton's youngest daughter. She was dear to me. To honor her memory I have kept this place exactly as it was. .... Her story began when an object from the world above fell at the entrance of her home. She was curious and wondered at it's purpose. Another object fell, and then another. Each object leading her further and further away. She realized they were falling from a ship above. She was forbidden to go to the surface, but it swam up to it anyway. She knew something was wrong. Her first sight at the surface was lightning streaking across an angry purple sky. She was terrified. The ship in the distance lurched wildly in the waves. A young man was swept overboard. His arms and legs were thrashing wildly. He was drowning. His panicked eyes locked on her, screaming at her to save him. A jolt raced up and down her spine. Her heart began race. He did not belong in her world, he could not breath in the water. He was dying. She had to help. She used all her strength to pull him up where he could breath air. She fought the waves until she came upon a sandy beach. A beautiful woman at the shoreline screamed and darted into the water towards them. The mermaid was scared of being beached on the land. She didn't belong there any more then young man belonged in the sea. She averted her eyes and handed the unconscious man to her and swam away as quickly as she could. 

Enchantment's rebirth was a great success! I look forward to seeing what fairy tale will be in the next round. The Little Mermaid theme items are moving into their home mainstores locations. The mermaids have been such fun to spend time with, and I would like to continue this story. I hope you enjoy the journey. Shown above is the aisling Calypso headress that comes with a hud to change the textures and colors. Also, by aisling are the Caly's baby eels. They have a hud to hide left or right and change colors. The fun Gills on the neck and headfins are by Soul. The headfins you can adjust to fit, and the gills are rigged. Both come with a hud to change the texture and have a second layer for tattoo effects. The skin by Fallen Gods Oceanica Still Eclipse comes with many appliers, including the ones I used for the The Mesh Project head and body. The Trident by CerberusXing comes in handheld and back staff versions. The mermaid eyes are by Antielle and come in several colors. The tentacle belt and arm wraps are by BluPrintz. It comes with a hud to control base color, highlights, and suction cup colors. The nipple rings are by Haus of Darcy. Right now if you are member of the H.O.D. VIP group, 50L to join, you get the a 150L gift certificate to celebrity the designer's birthday, as well as all the other group gifts. What a nice surprise! The corset for guys is by Schadenfreude. it comes with 3 black texture patterns. The gloves are by Swagga. They are non-rigged and mod so you tint and scale them for a good fit. The Beck hair by Tableau Vivant worked perfectly with the headress, and I used the TV hair base applier for the TMP head. From Aii is the cool eyeliner and mole applier for the TMP head. Most mermaid poses are for girls, so I made a more manly mer style pose for this image.

STORYLINE: She couldn't take her mind off the young man. His eyes haunted her. Would he be ok? She wanted to see him again. She had so many questions about him, and about the world on the surface. She couldn't help but wonder what life would be like with him as a husband. When she arrived back home the SeaWitch was waiting for her. "You look unhappy, my poor child. Surely it's not a problem I couldn't help you solve," she grinned like a shark who caught a fish.

Shown above are many awesome decor items that came together to create what feels like to me, a teenage mermaid's bedroom. I used in both images the Odyssey's temple and pearl lights by Fallen Gods from this year's Fantasy Faire. The MeadowWorks octopus, seaweed, and fish schools are also from a gacha at Fantasy Faire, but now you can play it at the mainstore. I love this gacha! Another great gacha is by DeviousMind, the seahorse wearable rider. I used it for room decor. The couch, armchair, and bed are by Zerkalo. It comes in pg or adult. The Ursula plushie on the couch is by Moon Amore, its animated. The seashells are by Plastik and have a color change hud. The paintings on the backwall and canvases on the ground are by Jian. They are inspiration for the whole color theme. Beautiful colors. From A Tattered Page's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea are the jellyfish by Spyralle, and the Dugong by The Muses. It's actually an avatar but I turned it into a sculpture. Overall this room is just stunning. Beautiful work from all the designers.

Revenge of the SeaWitch, 1

STORYLINE: Come my little guppies, gather around, and I will tell you a tale of how things came to be as they are now. Back when the Mer people had little knowledge of the Terrains, and the Terrains knew little of the Mer, a powerful Seawitch invoked the wrath of my predecessor, King Triton. He placed upon her a curse to limit her power. No longer could she conjure things for her own personal gain. No, she could only use magic in the service of others. But the crafty Seawitch was not so easily beaten. She plotted her revenge on his youngest daughter, and in the process hoped to slough off King's curse.

It's the summer of the Mer, and nowhere else will you find a stunning collection mermaid theme items then at the new round of Enchanted. I'm so happy to see this event has returned. The past stamp rallies limited the number of stores that could be in the event, but it has a sim once more and the rally has been replaced with a free hunt. How awesome is that? There is also live burlesque show in the theme of the event. (The lady lobster dinner was a hoot!) I love coming up with a new twist to the fairy tale, and I have worked up a new one for The Little Mermaid with some backstory on the Seawitch.

Shown above is the Underwater from the Editorial hair gacha by Tableau Vivant at The Arcade. (I love these posed hairstyles!) King Eric is wearing the Fallen Gods Oceanica Still Eclipse that comes with many appliers, including those for TheMeshProject. The Trident is by CerberusXing. It's mod so I give it a purple tint. I also tinted these awesome gloves by Swagga from the past Genre round. I looked in the mainstore for them, but it appears they are not there yet. The giant Manta Ray by Ravenghost is wearable, rideable, and it can also wander. The wings and tail are flexi. The tail I am wearing is by Plastik. (btw, for artistic reasons I made the tail more curved in the knee area for the image above.)  It comes in male and female, wet or dry texture, with many possible color choices. One interesting perk of this tail is the very deep "v" in the front. I'm sure you guys will love that. lol For modesty sake, I used the BluPrintz Tentacle Necklace as belt, sort of like a fishy loin cloth I guess. lol It worked out great, love that necklace with all the color hud options. It's mod so you can adjust it to fit where you want it. Around the shoulders are the Caly's Babies eels by aisling. They come with a hud to turn on left, or right eel, or wear both, and also add a 2nd color to their fins. The Eyes are an Enchantment Hunt prize by antielle. Several colors are included in the prize. The gargoyle ears are by Eclectica, and come with a hud to change to the colors and textures. The mole and eyeliner are appliers by Aii. The setting is by Death Row, the andolys Ariel's cozy spot. The seashells are by Plastik and come with hud with many color and texture options. If you know the original fairy tale, you know the Little Mermaid's tongue was cut off in order for her to be human. What luck The Horror! made a tongue necklace. It was gift from Origami that just ended. For fun I added the Lust nipple rings by Haus of Darcy. And lastly, over at Creator's Collection Box is another great Mermaid theme gift, the Merfolks Gift Poses by Kami Hitoe. There are 2 male mer tails and a male ao also. NEWS YOU CAN USE: Low Land Impact Mesh Chairs

Over on plurk, we have a Linden Home makeover challenge going on. Also I am searching for pieces from my inventory that might be useful for the mini version of RMK Gothic (coming soon!) The purpose of this post is useful information. It's no frills raw images taken without advanced lighting and shadows with CalWL windlight on a 50% grey background. NOTE: My inventory does not reflect all the content that is available in SL, these are things I have picked up along the way from shopping, gachas, blogging, hunts, and gifts. I have lovely chairs that go beyond 3 LI but since I am looking for Low Impact awesomeness, I will be only showing those.

Note, the Angelic chair used is the Low LOD version but it passed my distance test just fine. On the Mission chair I removed the bonus  pillows, they are not linked to the main chair. And dial M chair is cleverly disguised to barely look like a chair at all!

The Addams Family - The Perfect Family 1

STORYLINE: The Addams Family was a popular topic of rumor and speculation at Wednesday's school. The normally soft murmurs turned into a roar when for show and tell, Wednesday brought a macabre painting she claimed she painted herself. But instead of people praising her artist skill, they were horrified. The details were so gruesome, her art teacher asked how she achieved such realism. Wednesday replied simply she had a live "dead" model.

Every now and then something spontaneous and wonderful happens. After a conversation between Draconias and Aarya about how the Addams Family is the "Perfect Family," this fun portrait idea grew. Thanks to Aarya, Draconias, and Lexxii for letting me blog this!

STORYLINE: Muffy Hightower was on a mission: infiltrate the Addams mansion, find out if Wednesday really does have a mummified body for her still life painting, report her findings to her friends, and collect the reward money. Simple, right? First, Muffy started by emulating Wednesday's style. She laughed secretly inside when the gloomy girl was so overjoyed that a popular cheerleader suddenly took an interest in her that an invite to a slumber party at Freak Central soon followed. It was all too easy, Muffy thought.  What could possibly go wrong?

Muffy is wearing a fantastic Wednesday dress by Goth1c0 you can pick up at RMK Halloween. Her Eyeball necklace is by DownDownDown. You can change the textures by touching it and switch the colors on ribbon, metal, and 3 sets of eyes. Her pet Moth by Silentsparrow is a Dream Gacha prize. It comes in holdable, follow, and rez versions. (If you hurry there is also a purple and orange Moth still out for sale from Fifty Linden Friday at the mainstore location.) Muffy's hair, by Taketomi, is a fun spooky kawaii style with many hair pins and skulls from the past round of Gacha Mania. Her pastel goth tights are by Amerie, and shoes from Boom. Her pose is by Kirin and one one of many wonderful gifts from Season's Story anniversary round. Be sure to go check it out before the event ends.

Death Row makes it's debut at Collabor88 with two stunning pieces for the spooky hotel theme: A gorgeous velvet hotel couch, and stacked suitcases that include a blood stained holdable one, with or without, pose trigger. The couch seats people on all four sides, comes in pg and adult, and has a texture change hud. Don't miss it!  From RMK Halloween is the Ethelton Casket from Noctis is another beautifully textured goodie for gothic home decor. It includes a pose to laying down inside, and the lid opens and closes. There is a hud to change it's textures too. To the left of the image is the Magus supplies and Professor's desk, and on the rug is the Magus podium is the gift from RMK Halloween Dream Gacha. On the wall above the desk, is the Papermoon Green Witch Shelf from the Halloween Market at RMK, and by the podium is Green Witch Bundle prize from the RMK Dream Gacha. Next to the bundle is the Crystal Altar by Souzou Eien. It's also a prize from the RMK Dream Gacha. Close by is the Jar of Dirt from the MelonBunny booth at RMK Halloween Market. It's one of the commons from the gacha. The Rares are backpacks and when someone bumps you, your jar spills it's contents all over.  There is a hearts rare backpack and bones. (Go figure I won the hearts rares instead of the bones. lol)  Speaking of backpack, next to Muffy on the ground is the Traveling Witch Pack by Contraption on sale at the RMK Halloween market. Poking out from behind the piano, is the Purple Skeleton Flamingo lawn ornament by Free Bird. It's a gacha in the RMK Halloween Market. To the right of the piano, it a small table by Noctis, vanitas Still life table flute from the Tag Gacha. Next to the Coffin is the Somewhere beyond the sea chaise lounge by Bauwerk. I added it for Pugsley who has a pet octopus. Finishing off the spooky room is the Pixelwear Vamps Rug.

The Secret of Castle BlueBeard, 3

.....WARNING: Much Horror in the finale.....

STORYLINE: She had enough of being scared of bumps in the night, ghosts in her dreams, and being left alone in a dark cold castle. She was not afraid! There was nothing in North Tower, it was merely unsafe. Perhaps it had some crumbling masonry? She grabbed the red key and marched up to the forbidden room. She didn't even pause to reconsider, before she shoved the door open. There, with his back to her the middle of room, stood her husband. He spun around and dropped a goblet in shock. It collided with the cold stone floor. A strange silvery substance splashed out. He was pale and feverish. His hair now a deep metallic blue. "You!" He pointed a long finger at her, "You're just like the rest. Worthless! I told you never come here!" He withdrew his sword, and waved it at her menacingly as he wobbled on his feet. Fresh blood dripped down the blade. She gasped and covered her mouth. "You did this to me! All of you!," he roared. "I traveled the world. No potion too insignificant! No matter what I tried, none of you whores could produce an heir." He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her. She squeaked and tried to loosen his grip. "You're not well, my love! The shoulders are nice and square, love it. Also by Peqe is the fur wrap available at Tales of Fantasy. I got the white one and tinted it red for bluebeard. The wraps come in male and female, and several styles and colors. Over at the men's Department is is nice non-rigged mesh hair by Dura. I love the messiness of it. I got the white and tinted it to match the beard and coat. The armor is from The Forge gacha at Fantasy Gacha. Behind Bluebeard are two shocking Enchantment stamp prizes. The Bluebread Bodies by Death Row with a several wives hanging from hooks. This is really nicely done, if you like horror items, don't miss this. Adding more scare to the scene is Unrepentant's Heads on a Rope. Their hair is used to tie them to the rope. You can edit the mesh for tint and scale. .. Well you guys better get busy! The Ghosts of August, 1

STORYLINE: It was exciting this time of year, the spirits were so near! The young school girl could hardly believe it herself, -- she had crossed over to the spirit realm. The first time was an accident, but this time she knew what she needed to do, she needed to document the excursion! Can you imagine what her friends at school would say if they saw these images?

It's the time of the Bon Festival in Japan, and once more the Japanese Horror Event has returned! This year's Kagami is not to be missed. Travel along with a schoolgirl to solve the mystery of her missing classmate. At the Kagami landing is a wonderful marketplace of items in a Japanese Horror theme. Once you are dressed and ready to go, make sure your script count is low or you will not allowed to continue. Be careful about picking up objects on the sim, they could top you into the red and get you teleported home. I tried to eat a rat snack on stick and almost got booted for it. lol To start, go here, head to the Red Torrii gate, and walk through. On the path in front of you is a sign. Click that for the Hud, wear it, and accept giving it permission to teleport you. Once you are done with Part 1 and found the Youkai 1- 26, you get sent back to start and begin again. But don't worry, the walk down the Torrii path once more and it will take you to part 2. Have fun!

But wait there's more! I have a 2nd game for you. It's hud based quest at "Mayu and Kenta's Summer Vacation." Complete each task and then go the prize area to redeem one gift. The stamp rally last until Sept 11th. The Sakka's Studio Ghost Kimono is a prize there and it has a headband that triggers a ghost pose.
