World Goth Fair: What We Do In Cursed, 4

STORYLINE: Wrath got caught smuggling during the Scarlet Rebellion. After he lost his job when the Deathhead Scouts were disbanded, he didn't know what to do with himself. He had two great passions: Bats, and giving the middle finger to the authorities. He went on to become the first Carrier Bat Keeper in Cursed (similar to Carrier Pigeons but with squeaks and midnight runs). His bats became a popular way to smuggle secret messages out of Cursed.

STORYLINE: Mrs K was what they called, "First Contact" between the people of Earth and Mars. From the mind of the spaceman flying to her world, she saw images of the blue tinted beauty of Earth. She saw how the people of Earth lived. They were so different. She longed for the freedom they enjoyed. Her life could be so much more than it was. Why should she remain imprisoned in the home of a man who didn't love her when she could become famous on Earth? She wanted to be talked about and admired. She wanted to dress in the finest Earth fashions. But most importantly, she just wanted to be loved.

This round of a Tattered Page is the The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. I was not familiar with the novel, so I got a copy and read it. It's a very different from what I expected. It's more like the Twilight Zone than a novel. Each chapter is a mini story and there's a very loose overall structure to it. It's very much from another time period. Our science, knowledge, and technology has advanced a lot since the 1950s. But I think the best way to view the novel is a series of metaphors about what happened in the past (such as when Europeans invaded the Americas, and Manifest Destiny) to scary realities of Nuclear War and what the mind set of the people was back in the 1950s. For my blog posts, I want to focus on an early chapter and expand on the story, the telepathic meeting of the minds between Mrs. K and Nathaniel York.

Mrs K above is wearing the skin by Fallen Gods. It comes with appliers for Slink hands, feet, nails, body and head as well as some others appliers. Nice! Her dress is the gorgeous design by Pale Empress. I love the raised surface of velvet bats on the skirt. Every goth girl in SL needs to RUN get this dress! It's awesome. The Secret of Castle BlueBeard, 3

STORYLINE: She had enough of being scared of bumps in the night, ghosts in her dreams, and being left alone in a dark cold castle. She was not afraid! There was nothing in North Tower, it was merely unsafe. Perhaps it had some crumbling masonry? She grabbed the red key and marched up to the forbidden room. She didn't even pause to reconsider, before she shoved the door open. There, with his back to her the middle of room, stood her husband. He spun around and dropped a goblet in shock. It collided with the cold stone floor. A strange silvery substance splashed out. He was pale and feverish. His hair now a deep metallic blue. "You!" He pointed a long finger at her, "You're just like the rest. Worthless! I told you never come here!" He withdrew his sword, and waved it at her menacingly as he wobbled on his feet. Fresh blood dripped down the blade. She gasped and covered her mouth. "You did this to me! All of you!," he roared. "I traveled the world. No potion too insignificant! No matter what I tried, none of you whores could produce an heir." He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her. She squeaked and tried to loosen his grip. "You're not well, my love! What did you drink? Are you mad from wine?" He threw her on top of a pile of slain women. Who were all these women? What were they doing here? Why are they all killed? The shock was too much, and she fainted. "I was going to keep you, I loved you. I have no need for wives or lovers anymore. There will be no heir. I am the heir, the elixir has made me immortal!" He raised his sword high in the air to strike her down, but before he could deliver the killing blow, he coughed and fell to his knees. He began to vomit violently large volumes of liquid metal. Then the tremors stopped and he lay motionless in a pool of blood, vomit, and mercury.

I hope you all liked my twist to the tale of Bluebeard. Don't forget today is the last day for many great events! From Enchantment is the Good Wife ring. Chop Shop has some nice Watching eyes that works great for Bluebeard. The coat he is wearing is by Peqe and also last day to pick it up on sale at We <3 Role Play. The shoulders are nice and square, love it. Also by Peqe is the fur wrap available at Tales of Fantasy. I got the white one and tinted it red for bluebeard. The wraps come in male and female, and several styles and colors. Over at the men's Department is is nice non-rigged mesh hair by Dura. I love the messiness of it. I got the white and tinted it to match the beard and coat. The armor is from The Forge gacha at Fantasy Gacha. Behind Bluebeard are two shocking Enchantment stamp prizes. The Bluebread Bodies by Death Row with a several wives hanging from hooks. This is really nicely done, if you like horror items, don't miss this. Adding more scare to the scene is Unrepentant's Heads on a Rope. Their hair is used to tie them to the rope. You can edit the mesh for tint and scale. .. Well you guys better get busy! The Baron Samedi

STORYLINE: The shaken schoolgirl was now cursed with the ability to see spirits. It was the price she paid for entering their realm. Still, she hoped the curse would end. She took a different route home to avoid the Possessed Doll. As she passed the outskirts of the US Air Force base, she saw a horrific plane crash. She was glad the pilot safely parachuted down. But something was not right about the strange man in a tuxedo and top hat who stood on the runway without a care. When the firetruck passed right through him, she knew for sure it was a ghost. No sooner had she thought that, then the dark man's head jerked in her direction. He waved his hand, she felt a swoosh of air, then she suddenly found herself in a swamp in some far away place. This ghost must be powerful, she thought. He spoke English, but she could understand him. "A child sees things not meant to be seen. The Baron can not allow this." He handed her a bottle with hot peppers decorating its label. "One drink from that, Cheri, and the walking nightmare will be at end."

I'm thrilled about the theme for this round of the Fantasy Collective, the Swamp! Finally a theme that's closer to home. I live in swampy area and often visit the New Orleans/Baton Rouge areas. Naturally, I am wild for Baron Samedi too, having done a lot of research him for a story. When I saw this badass Baron hat and hair by Tableau Vivant, I did a happy dance! It comes in a male and female version, each hat slightly different. The girl's has a rose and the guy's a cross. The hair is separate from the hat. Going with a witch doctor theme, Death Row has a stunningly cool witchdoctor mask that is perfect for a spooky swamp. It has a matching staff complete with little bottles and a voodoo doll. Over on the Coffin Shelf by Noctis, is the top hat on the skull by Sweet Lies gacha. I won the rare which comes with a texture change hud. Next to it is another gacha from Fantasy Collective, the Shrunken Head Potion Canteen by Eskimo Fashion. The bone necklace the Baron is wearing is part of the BOOM set that includes a Baron mask. The masks come in several colors. For today, the Baron wears his signature dark shades. The sunglasses by Kumaki are perfect for him, they even have skulls on the side. Holding his voodoo dolls or potions is the handy Hipster Bag by Remarkable Oblivion. It's on sale at FaMESHed and comes in 3 different colors. You can resize it with a menu on the x,y,z. From Totally Top Shelf is this awesome fitted mesh snake! YES! There are 4 styles, and each one comes with a texture hud to change your precious snakeypoo's colors. This picture was taken on the Madpea's Green Mire sim. If you do thier side hunt for Evil Bunny, you will score green bunny slippers and a green bunny shoulder pet. You until the 31st to do the hunt.

Fantasy Faire: Hades' Haircut

STORYLINE: Persephone, what a pain she was. When he told her his plan to hunt down the rogue souls of the lost city, she giggled. "Oh no Mr Grumpy Toga, you are NOT going out in the world of the living like that!" The more his anger flared, the more she roared with laughter. "But Hades, surely people would die of fright at the mere sight of you!" He turned to leave and grumbled, "The more the merrier." "Wait!" she chased after him. "You can't! Anything you touch will die! I'll come with you in case there is any trouble. Besides, you're not exactly charming. No one will tell you anything," she tried to hide her snickers. She insisted he change his appearance for the sake of gaining information from the mortals. "This is not the time of the Greeks anymore, it's a different world. Lucky for you, there is a Gypsy camp at the entrance to the underworld now. They are known for being strange and mystical people. It's the perfect disguise!" Whatever. She wasted no time cutting off his long hair and brushing it into knots. He complained bitterly each time he yanked his hair. She tried to hide his blue skincolor, but he ended up a ridiculous looking purple instead. He thought she just wanted to dress him up like a fool for her own amusement. Really, he didn't know why he put up with her. Maybe it was because hers was the only laughter that rang throughout his gloomy existence.

The hair is a combination of Tableau Vivant's dreadlock's Hull hair, and Wasabi Pill's Up in the Air hair. The eyeball hairbow we a past Femboy hunt prize from Atypical. Sadly, I was not able to find Atypical's inworld store.

In the background is part of the Kalopsia Gipsy Camp set. It comes with two beautifully textured color wagons, and seating for a guitar player or violin player.  Both pictures of Hades' adventures are taken at the Fantasy Faire sim Mourningvale Thicket. This dark mysterious gypsy theme sim is designed by Roawenwood. It's great fun to explore and I learned recently during the Place of Tears hunt the trees are red because they drink the blood of the unwary! It's the perfect secret portal to Hades' underworld.

Fantasy Faire: Hades' Due 1

STORYLINE: Hades, the God of the Underworld, was not amused. The souls of an entire city were suddenly wiped out. At first he was ecstatic since he wanted hear the newcomers' gory tales of their tragic demise. He waited anxiously. What caused so much death? He waited, and he waited. But not a single soul came. Engaged, he climbed up out the bowls of the earth to investigate this mystery. How dare they try to escape him! All souls eventually come to him, even the clueless! He would personally find each and everyone of them and drag their spirits back with him! ...However, there was a little problem with Hades' brash plan. You see, the God of Death was woefully unprepared for walking among the living.

WOW right now is a fantasy lover's paradise. The biggest fantasy event of the year has begun, the 6th Annual Fantasy Faire! Eleven gorgeous sims designed just for this event which only lasts 11 days. Run go now! Each sim is stuffed full of wonderful fantasy designers, and special event-only items you can purchase with proceeds donated directly to Relay for Life, the fundraising wing of the American Cancer Society. Each day there is a silent auction too. The Fantasy Faire Radio is rocking throughout the entire event with live DJs. There are even organized Role Plays going on! Final Fantasy Fest: Sephiroth and Kadaj

Message from Fulli: The Final Fantasy Festival is going on! When I heard about an event of my beloved Final Fantasy I had to make a post about it! You can find everything there, from Moogles to Chocobos and more! Sephiroth has always been one of my favorite characters from Final Fantasy 7, and the movie Final Fantasy Advents Children. Isn't he badass!! And with Dev showing up as Seph's brother Kadaj, just makes the picture more awesome. I recommend this event highly to every Final Fantasy fan out there. Go on and check it out it goes till the 21 February.

So there you go, Fulli is a huge FF fan and she is very excited! The Final Fantasy Fest has 65 stores full of awesome. While walking around the sims in character, I totally felt like I was cosplaying at an anime convention. lol. Too fun. Sephiroth is wearing the new Sean skin by Tableau Vivant. This is the palest skintone and worn without the eyebrow. You can buy a tattoo layer eyebrow and tint it the color you like. I used grey here to great effect. (So awesome. I have wanted white/grey brows on a T.V. skin for as long as I have been wearing them.) And there's more good news, you can now get Slink hand and foot appliers for T.V. skinlines Sean, David, and Lucis. Woot! To make that creepy evil angel alien type look for both Sephiroth and Kadai I added eyeliner from CL9, and lip gloss from Random Matters. They are wearing awesome Clan of the Jenova eyes from Lovely Disarray which you can pick up at the Festival. The guys are both wearing Fatewear Dextor gloves, and hairstyles from Ayashi. Kadai is wearing mesh hair Rioto, and the Sephiroth hair is prim and flexi. A little birdie told me there could be a new mesh version of the Sephiroth hair in the future. (Cross your fingers gang!) Sephiroth's jacket, armor, collar, and wing are by  BareRose and come with materials. The leather pants are system by Lapointe & Bastchild, and suede boots by lassitude & ennui. The Masamune by Joxeluis Magic is fully scripted. I edited the hilt for better looking grip. Kadai is wearing a very cool outfit El Kaadaj by Goth1c0 available at the Fest. I've been running around in it a lot, it's just looks so cool. I added shoulder armor from the White Edge outfit by BareRose, harness by G&S.  The boots are by Gos. The prop katana by F*ckingNinjias I edited to add second blade. Kadaji is wearing the Morphine Sephiroth skin. There are 4 skins by Morphine at FFF: Genesis, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Vincent. A nice shape comes with it, but since it's no mod I created my own shapes.  ...Ok, run go check out the Fest! Lots and lots of great things are there.
