STORYLINE: Alarmed, the pet bats of the Witch of Fields, and her ghost familiar warned her a hex was coming! She quickly threw up a shield just in time to bounce the curse off her and return it to it's sender. She found Razorback sometime later in the potions rooms as an ugly toad. Serves him right for being so nasty. He would be trapped in that form until after Halloween and Merlin returned to the Academy to fix him.

English Tutorial for RMK Halloween: The Magical Academy
The Magical Academy games are going on strong, and the event is full of awesome prizes, freebies, and Halloween goodies for sale! How do you play? In a nutshell: Play games and earn coins for the Dream Gacha.

Landing

You begin your journey at the landing of the Magical Academy on the “ghost side” of RMK Gothic. Touch the book stands, they give a link to the official blog rules and disclaimer. Once you are done reading, walk forward to the headmaster's desk. The haughty Headmaster of the school, Charlotte, has a greeting for you, it's written down on the enchanted parchment (or read it here). Now touch Charlotte, she will give you 2 items: "+RMK Gothic Halloween2014 HUD+" and "Magic world class." Wear them both. For the free school uniform, touch the raven next to Charlotte. Behind Charlotte are three magic circle teleports down to the sim. If you don't have a broom, you may be in for a bumpy ride. lol.

Ghost Mages

Now your adventure begins! Look around the sim for more Hologram ghosts similar to Charlotte. If you looked at the Map at the landing, you already have an idea where to head. When you find a Mage, it’s a challenge area. Touch the ghost and objects all around to find out what to do. One of the ghosts is not a Mage, but you will find him to be a very good friend. As you complete the challenges you will be awarded a game coin. Collect 10 silver coins and you can use them to play the Dream Gacha. The Challenges are: Broom, Chants, Herbs, Potions. As you level up in the game, the messages each ghost gives you changes.

Broom

Professor Nene is friendly and a bit bubbly. She will talk to you and encourage you to learn how to fly a broom. From her zone you can can pick a magic circle teleport to one of 2 broom courses: the white lower level and the pink upper level. The courses are exactly the same, so you can do whichever one you like best. Once you are at the start, touch the black bench to rez a broom. Once rezzed, right click on the broom end to sit, or "fly away" on it. If the white gate says "Start" it means someone else is already on the course. Wait until the seal for the Magical Academy shows. Fly through each gate. Above them they are numbered, Gate No1, Gate No2, etc. There are 7 gates on the Broom Course. If you successfully pass through, the message will change to "Clear." The Course is timed so if you take too long, you will fall where ever you happen to be. (Dev Tip: Set your graphics low, wear a low lag outfit, and make your draw distance 96.) When you complete the course you get a silver coin. If you had an excellent time, your name will be added to the leaderboard for the fastest times.

Chants

This is a challenge for speed typing. Royal Magician Ray will not speak to a lowly freshman at all, but you can talk to his cat Familiar. Touch one of the three orb stands: Japanese, English, and Numbers. Accept and wear the orb. Look in local chat for the magic spell. The chant will be given in several lines, but for the spell to work, you need to type it out like one big giant run-on sentence with no spaces or returns. (Dev Tip: Are you a bad typer? Try Dictation that comes with the Mac, or the Dragon program for Windows.) Once the chant is completed, you get a silver coin.

Herbs

Professor Fixis has a sour personality, but he will warm up to you if you work hard. Herb growing is one of the most popular challenges. It takes 1 hour to grow the herbs, and you must touch your field, or plant pot once every 10 min. (Dev Tip: You can play other games while the herbs grow, even leave the sim, but be sure to keep your hud on. It will tell you in local chat it's time to go back to touch your plants. If you take too long, your plants will time out.) There are 2 herb growing areas: the garden fields and the planter pots in town. Once your herbs are grown, you get 3 herb objects sent to inventory. All herbs are transfer. Once you have used a field, your turn is up. A new person can take the field. There are many kind of herbs.  Some appear to be more common than others. (Bonus Dev Tip: One of the scarecrows in the fields will also talk to you, what he says depends on your level.)

Potions

Once you have at least 3 herbs, head to the Magnificent Magician Merlin's potions class. Wear your herb, touch it on your display, and it will be added to your hud. Once all 3 are added to the hud, touch the black kettle on the fireplace to brew it. If you made a good potion you see what it is on the upper box of the hud, but most the time you will create nothing but a toxic Skull and Crossbones potion. (Dev Tip: Write down all your attempted potion recipes. Make friends with other players and trade secrets. You can team up and share bad recipes to avoid. You might even find someone who can tell how to make a really good potion!) STOP! Before you brew a new potion, look for Chan! 

Potion Sale

(Dev Tip: Did you fail to make a cool potion? Don’t worry, you can sell it. Chan will buy anything! lol) Chan is your best buddy. Deliver to him your potions and he will buy them, but he may toss an insult your way for shoddy goods. The better your potion, the more money you earn. A good potion is worth a gold coin, and a gold coins are worth 10 silvers! (Dev tip: My friends have discovered 6 potions so far: Witch Trial, Sweet Temptation, Halloween Night, Feast of Madness, Oblivion, and Black Princess Perfume)

Dream Gacha

Once you have 10 silver, or 1 gold coin, head to the Dream gacha. Wear your coins. Touch them on your display to load them into your hud. Once you reach 10, go ahead and touch the Dream Gacha Old Man tree. You can see a preview of all the prizes on the official Magical Academy website. All prizes are transfer (with one exception). (Dev tip: There are also two mystery prizes in the Dream Gacha that will help you in your magic!)

Trades

The best strategy in all RMK games is to make friends. You can trade potion recipes, failed potion recipes, herbs, and Dream Gacha prizes. You can also make trades and ask for help in the RMK Gothic SIM group. secondlife:///app/group/41460f76-5061-1412-5958-059b4d14ce05/about

Ghosts of August, 3

STORYLINE: With her camera and photos confiscated, the schoolgirl left the spirit world empty-handed. Or so she thought. She began to see things: a shadow darted before her, a bright glowing orb in the corner of the room.... She was already on edge as she walked home. She looked up and saw a figure walking precariously along the edge of town's ancient tower wall. It appeared to be a woman who was ridged or maybe drunk. Then suddenly the lady slipped and fell. 

Nice things for Elegant Lolitas to enjoy this month! The new release from Rokumeikan, Attempted Suicide Doll, comes with shirt top, collar, bandages for the arms, skirt, underskirt, checkered stockings, hat, and a parasol with pose. The black and white textures with with stripes is really striking, and I love the nicely textured parasol. The creepy cool forked tongue by DownDownDown you can pick up at Kagami. Touch it and you can change the color to green, mint, blue, black, white, pink and red. It comes with materials for that extra slimly look. lol. DownDownDown also has a creepy super long tongue at Kagami. The tongues are unrigged mesh so you scale them and move them around, no problem. The Jinx hair is a current gift from Truth in pastel colors. It's a perfect Lolita hair. The face band is The Blues Hunt prize from Cubic Cherry. This beautiful doll head is one of several group gifts from DollCoco. These are the past mesh doll heads. The eyes come either fixed or closed.

STORYLINE: Horrified, the schoolgirl screamed and ran toward the lady only to discover it wasn’t a lady at all, -- it was a shattered doll. Its head rocked gently and a forked tongue flicked out of its mouth. Then the doll faded away as if nothing had been there at all. The cycle began again a few moments later when it reappeared to do its awkward waltz on the stone wall.

Trap makes it debut at We <3 Role Play this month. You can scoop up the Raven Wings on sale. They come in four poses and colors Silver/Bronze or White/Black. The DollCoco body was a past group gift from over a year ago. It worked perfectly with the retired doll heads. The old body is very thin and usually needs special clothes designed for it. In order for the doll to wear normal clothes, I removed the upper torso and created a simple prim neck. Wala!

The Pleasure Palace: Welcome to Cursed

STORYLINE: As the ex-A.N.G.E.L was led under guard to the dungeon, a sudden swarm of bats attacked. He had never seen such a thing in his whole life. But these were not normal bats, they were huge! In the chaos, he made a break for it. Plasma blasts were fired at him, but he didn't stop. Suddenly an enormous black form landed in front of him. Giant bat wings spread out blocking his path. "You are quite difficult to find Lost One. However after the stunt you pulled on live television, it was only a matter of time we find you." The A.N.G.E.L stumbled backward in shock. "Wait, you're a vampire?" He turned, and looked behind him. Other vampires were attacking Kujo's guards too. "But I don't understand," he shook his head. "I thought I was the only one left. How is this possible! There isn't enough pure human left in the world, how do you feed?" The white haired vampire smiled warmly, "There is much to talk about, but perhaps at a more opportune time. Come, we will take you home to the city of Cursed. You are welcome to stay with us as long as you like."

The moment I saw the preview picture of the Marquise bed by Kalopsia, I knew I had to have it! Can you believe it's only 100L at the Baroque round of Genre? Run go get it! It's a no brainer! The canopy is 7 land impact, the bed is 20, and it's mod. It has single and couple pg poses. Next to the bed on the right is the Coffin Couch, also by Kalopsia. Seriously, every vampire needs one of these babies. The back side has a pall bearer bar and handcuffs. lol It's 8 land impact, comes in adult or pg, and white, tan, or black, and you can mod it. It was from ROMP that ends today but should be moving to the main store soon. Also from ROMP, to the left of the bed, is the Frogstar Solitary Satisfaction Bench that will work perfectly in a gothic or baroque bedroom. It's 2 land impact, comes in either white/silver or black/gold, and it's mod. It has pg and adult single poses for men and women. The rest of the room are goodies I have collected over time for my bedroom. The rich red rug is part of the Evendim set by Senzafine that was at World Goth Fair. The candelabra are from the Gothic bedroom set from Akaesha's ReACT Castle Gothica Bedroom Suite. The candles on the floor are by Mesh Nation, it's original mesh with full perms. Providing the soundtrack to the spooky goings-on is the Contraption Orchestrion: Haunted Maze music box which I tinted red to match the room, lol. The red curtains came from the Gothic Gaslight Chaise by Snowbound. The castle is Poetica's Ivy Tower dark. ... I am wearing a fantastic crimson clock by Junbug from a past Fantasy Gacha. I played that thing so many times to get the red. lol The hair is one of those rare ones that work on both guys and girls. The bat wings are by Remarkable Oblivion. The mask was a wonderful gift by LNS from World Goth Fair. Under the cloak I am wearing the Red Phamton by Rokumeikan. RMK Gothic: The Dark Circus

The Dark Circus has come to RMK Gothic! You can find this cute new area to explore in the garden near Theater Chain. Pictured above is Rokumeikan's kodona/ouji style Harlequin in monocolor (there is a rare red version also). It's an outfit for girls, but I am playing up the boyishness here. It's from the new Straw Hat gacha. You can find it at Castle Rokumeikan. The skin I'm wearing is a fun vampire skin for girls by Dead Apples available on sale at We <3 Role Play. I love the hint of blood on the lips and if you open the mouth, you can see bloody teeth too. I added a past free fangs from [ni.Ju] and tinted them to match. The pierrot eye makeup is part of Carousel Black outfit from Likka House. The hairstyle is brand new from Ayashi. This style is so nice for the guys! Pastel color lover take note, Ayashi has introduced a new color palette called Summer. In the picture of the Harlequin outfit below, you can see the cute Batwing backpack by Tartcake. I picked up at Project Limited. The adorable dollstyle creepers are by BOOM. They were at the May round of Collabor88, and now you get them at the BOOM mainstore. They are unrigged for SLink Flat feet.

Yes, that's a Tim Burton styled mini mesh house! It's a limited edition from Death Row. Last I checked there were 65 copies left at Project Limited. The shell is 30 land impact, and with the furniture it's 35. The house can scale up and be modded, but the bed, chair and sofa are no mod. They all contain single male and female, couple poses. Our lovely Trapeze artist is wearing the rare prize from the Theater Chain Unicorn Accessories gacha. From Hair Fair, is the Victoria style created by LaNoir Soleil Designs. You can pick up a fatpack, color pack, or promo pack of pink and purple at a discount price. Under neither the outfit, she is wearing the sakura fishnet body suit that's a free gift from Curious Kittens. Her stockings, ballet shoes, and backpack came from the OMG Gacha. Sadly, it ended on the 15th. But if you can, try to get the The Muka ballet shoes in trades. 3) Touch the sign to receive your Doll Point HUD.

4) Wear your Doll Point HUD each time you make a purchase in the Rokumeikan store. The more you buy the more points you earn. Each gacha spin will equal one point.

5) Once you have collected enough points, return to the 2nd floor of Rokumeikan castle where the Doll Point prizes are located. You can redeem your points for prizes there.

6) Touch the sign of the prize you wish. Prize will be delivered. Points used will be subtracted from your total.

PLEASE NOTE: Past gacha do not have the Doll Point System in their code. Only new gacha machines will have the Doll Point system.

STORYLINE: Alice asked the bunnies what was new in Wonderland since she was there last. "The King of Hearts!" they both exclaimed. "A king?," Alice wondered out loud. Since when was there a king in Wonderland. Did something happen to the Queen?

Check out this amazing Bunny Hunt prize! The Queen of Hearts glasses is another must have creation from AIR! I love the details and windy ribbons.  I matched it to the the windblown Rain hair from Exile available in the The Arcade gacha. The shirt and vest are a cool creation from gO! I picked up at a new event, The Countdown Room. There were many great things there, I looked forward to the next round. To find the Prince Vampire top, hop over the gO! mainstore and pick out one of the many styles there. To go with the shirt, I used the Boot Pants by Tableau Vivant, and the skin is T.V.'s the Red Valentine group gift. Because the King of Hearts needed more red, I turned up the volume with the Dusk makeup by [ni.Ju], and added a little more with the [ni.Ju]'s Hime blush. The Alexander pocket watch I'm holding is the [ni.Ju] Bunny Hunt prize. It comes with a hold pose, or a rez version, and it keeps real time!

For those new to Bunny Hunting, let me explain how it works.... Imagine a Lucky Board. Now imagine that lucky board hops and could be anywhere on a sim. Now imagine that hopping lucky board is always stuck in wildcard mode, meaning the fastest person to touch it first wins the prize. Now imagine that wildcard hopping luck board randomly drops a ticket you can exchange at a store and that's what you need to touch quickly. Are you with me so far? Good. Now picture that lucky board as a tiny grey bunny. You got it? Good!!! You just graduated from Bunny Hunt 101!

There are 22 tickets and the 23rd ticket is a Golden Ticket that works at any store! All tickets can only be used once, and they are transferrable. Now let me tell you a little about what we are wearing in the picture above. First, I am showing the delightful new Arcade gacha from Tableau Vivant. It's a hairstyle that comes with a plushie that sits on your head and one hud with 6 colors. The hair comes combed style (like I am wearing above), and messy like you just woke up. The male hair fit is the Rare. I used the combination of pastel colors, with Bunny the Lop, and the Male hair fit. The coat I am wearing is by Junbug, yes Junbug made some historical clothing for the men! I picked up both the Heathcliff coat and also the entire outfit that goes with it (shirt, boots, and pant) at Seraphim Social's Pride and Prejudice. The coat comes in black, green, red, grey or blue. I tinted the buttons from gold to red. Keeping with RMK style, I am wearing the Prince of Phantom collar, neck frill, and vest by RokumeikaN. My pocket watch is by House of Rain. My cool monocle with the hanging string is by AIR.

Fulli is showing you three wonderful things from the Alice in RMK Gothic event. Her hat, collar, garter, and dress are all by Ambrosia and it's the Bunny Hunt prize! Her awesomely cool hair is by Ayashi. Fulli went crazy for it and bought the fatpack that comes with many hair colors, crown can be changed to silver or gold, and you can pick different colors for the heart and ribbons. The Ayashi Bunny Hunt prize is a black with red stripe version of this hair with a gold crown. I love the Burton-ish look of it. Nice. You can find this cool checkered clutch by NuDoLu in the Alice Market area. It comes in several different colors, and 2 hold animations.

I am crazy for Noctis! Mesh! Gothic! Victorian! Nice Textures! What's not to love? Building this set was a real joy, and I am thankful for my friends who helped me because I'm a bit clueless on decorating. lol. The sweet potatoes you find in the Gacha Gazebo at RMK Frost Fair. The nice holiday fireplace you can find in the Noctis booth at Frost Fair. The wonderful dining set includes everything you need to host a diner party, even drunk poses. lol The Christmas Tree is my kind of tree, the angel on the top is a Gargoyle! Seriously. I have a gargoyle collection in my home. If only the guys weren't heavy, they would look awesome on top of my tree. lol  The octagon rug I picked up at the main Noctis store, it works perfectly with the table.

He let me play with his Nu'ville loot (the blood bag and Bunnicula), and I showed him where the RMK renewal gifts were like AIR's Rabbit Monocle, and the Frozen Night rigged mesh black collar. Hey, that's what brothers are for.  ^^

Now let me tell you more about items I am wearing. The Retro Military coast by Kauna is a must have and you can tint it whatever color you want. Like all of Remarkable Oblivion's creations, the Necromancer Crown is another fantastic item to own. It's like a little piece art sitting on your head. The Blood Bank Bag is actually rigged mesh you wear and carry with you. There is cool sippy straw from the bag to your mouth. Love it. For photo purposes, it's shown without the walk animation and straw. All vampires need to tour Nu'ville. You can get candy like blood pops, cute Beetlebones avis like bat, mummy, ghoul, angel, and fun shoulder pets like Bunnicula. He squeaks and wiggles his ears when you touch him.

When you first land at RMK Halloween, you are in spooky forest. Follow the path to Jack the Pumpkin Ghost. There you will receive your own free pumpkin ghost outfit, and a game hud. If you wish, you can change to cute the low-lag pumpkin ghost outfit in the theme of the event. The outfit is meant to trick to spirits into thinking you are one them. Once you are ready to begin, wear your game HUD, and continue down the path to the doorway.
