MWFW: Inside the Photographer's Studio

Fashion Week.... Designer's race to make final touches to their collection. Promotional shots are taken. Then the moment arrives. Models prepare as stylist and makeup artists buzz around them. Outside the murmurs of an excited crowd. Cameras poised. The lights dim. The music starts. A breath is held, then the magic begins as the models parade down the runway. This thriving culture isn't limited to the real world, it's in SL too. This week I have been swept up in it and inspired by the hard working designers who bring stylish new looks for the guys. Mens Wear Fashion Week has began! Designer XAIJ's collection has 8 complete outfits with a monochrome theme. Each item comes with a hud that allows you switch around the textures from white, light grey, grey, dark grey, to black. The Suitcases and Breifcases on the ground are a cool gacha by Blvck Anchor at MWFW. They are wearable and trigger a pose. MensWear Fashion Week ends May 3rd.

Tableau Vivant fans, I have a great news for you. The T.V. group now has a benefit for members. For each hair you buy in the store you earn a 50L store credit and fatpack will earn you 200L credit. Just wear your group tag when you make a purchase to earn credits. The Noel hair I am wearing above have been updated, you can get your update at the main store. Is this Koolqa Knight skin great for what? Two tones of the Knight skin are on sale at The Men's Department 2nd anniversary for 350L. Don't miss that. I went to the main store and picked up the Knight appliers for the Slink hands and feet, however I think they meant to match the main skintone line and not the one on sale at TMD. The Silvers didn't really line up well, but on the image above I think it's passable. (Image is not retouched for color.) The necklace by Mandala is great with 3 lengths in mesh and a hud to change around the textures. Comes in male and female. The Aggressive Intentions makeup by Lovely Disarray you can pick up at the Big Show on sale 25% off.  The mesh low top shoes by Super Kingdom are some of my favorites. Let me tell you a little more about this set. I had the idea to build a photographer's studio in New York City in keeping with the NYC theme of MWFW this year. The skybox is by Off Brand Furniture. When you touch the ceiling, you can change the wall and the floor textures, and also the city view from NY daytime to different views of Tokyo. The lights and photographer's backdrop are from Abranimations. The backdrop comes with poses in it which are controlled by a hud. The hud also has the best eye controller in SL! Love it. The lights all work too but I preferred to make my own lighting. The cool dressing room scrims, director's chairs, and fashion rack are from an old House of Fox gacha at a past Arcade. And I very pleased to tell you it's back! (I always wished I had the complete set. Just one more to go....) The camera is from a SAAL gacha. It doesn't appear to be available anymore. Completing the set are the trusses from LUI. They are mesh sections and comes in 4 textures.

The handbag by XIAJ goes great with this XIAJ outfit at MWFW. It's from a gacha you can find at the main store. These awesome shoes by COCO are now free! you can pick them up in olive or black as well other older content goodies at COCO. The mesh gloves by O.M.E.N are on sale at the Men's Department. I'm wearing two different makeups from Lovely Disarray. The Eyeliner from Amazon Trio is very nice, and I love this stripe on the lip in the Ophidian set. The Haruka hair by Argrace is now located at the main store. Necklace Kotowari once more by Mandala but this time the short length version. EVENT: Boats & Bikinis Expo + Luggage Hunt

Today is the last day of another fun expo from Sand and Sea folks, the Boats and Bikinis Expo. This event has the theme French Riviera. Along the perimeter are shops with swimwear, decor, and furniture, and in the center are the docks. In the boats area, you can jump on and test drive a few models or explore. There is even staff there at JP Collection to answer your questions. Oceania has five free collectible plushies for the event, including a Jumbo shark! (Be sure to explore around to find them all.) The Luggage Hunt:
To begin the luggage hunt, go to the City of Hanalei Office of Tourism. Touch this pile of luggage. Your challenge is to find all the missing luggage through out the sim. Read the local chat and follow the directions. Each person will have a different hunt path. The store you are looking for will be in all caps, like "TUFF." To help on hunt, there are sign posts with a handy teleports for all the store locations. There are many fantastic swimsuits for the ladies, while the guys can enjoy boat prizes and nice beach theme decore. Happy Hunting gang!  ... p.s. the store Capricious is not the sign board. You can find it next to the Aphrodite Shop.

RMK Gothic Bunny Hunt: The Madhatter

STORYLINE: Alice lurked around the Queen of Heart's castle. She overheard two guards talking about catching the mole "tallHat." Without a second thought, she snuck into Queen's dungeon to rescue him. After all, this was her fault. He was the one who smuggled information to her. He was the one who challenged her to come in person and see for herself. "Do you understand now Alice, why I want to leave Wonderland?" tallHat breathed. "The soldiers are crazy. The queen is crazy. The cats are crazy. The bunnies are crazy. The only sane soul in Wonderland is myself. I only pretend to be crazy, it's everyone else who is truly mad."

Hunt prize NV tartan pants come in male and female sizes with fun decorative heart and spades elements. The Blue Blood hunt prize comes with two different texture styles. If you have been out on the RMK Gothic sim and seen a really cool flying cards and clock effect when someone types, that is the Theater Chain gacha. Everyone who sees this loves it! There are different colors and clock faces for each of the main Alice in Wonderland characters plus secret rares in the gacha. I highly recommend. *thumbs up*

STORYLINE: A year later, Alice helped tallHat create a new identity,"Lewis Carroll," and settle down in London. He continues to make hats, albiet in different style from his old trademark top hat. Alice is still Alice but she left investigative journalism. With the help of her former informant, she penned a fictional story about Wonderland. When her new boyfriend comes to visit, she wears a little something extra special just for him.  - the end - 

Alice is wearing sweet intimates from RoA in the Alice theme. It also comes with a black hairbow (not shown). The book prop she is holding is fantastic. It's made by Down Down Down and comes in normal, AFK, and decoration versions. I showing the Quandary flat Irish cap currently available at Buddy walk (ends March 31st), and there is a version with hair is at the Epicosity Spring Fling (ends April 3rd). If you haven't already lost your shirt at The Arcade run down there fast and try your luck with Tableau Vivant backpack gacha. These bags are gorgeous. The Zebra is my favorite. The Cardigen I am wearing is from Paradise Kiss and it's beautifully made. It moves perfectly and fits perfectly and comes with texture change hud. The pants I am wearing are from Cut - N- Draw and they have super chains at the waist and British Flag in denim on the back pockets.

RMK Gothic Bunny Hunt: Down the Rabbit Hole

STORYLINE: Suddenly a small figure darted between the Jack of Spades' legs. The White Rabbit! Jack loosened his grip just enough for Alice to break free. She ran after the rabbit and dove into a small doorway after him. As she tumbled further and further down, she saw the White Rabbit holding his hat and happily singing, "I know a secret, I know a secret."

This awesome little bunny dude comes out of the box with Alice hair and undergarments. But the avatar is unisex, just switch the clothing and hair. He can wear any hair or hat unless it's long-hair rigged mesh. (Long-hair rigged mesh get crumpled below the shoulders.) Also, the ears on the bunny you can take off and wear on your normal avatar. ...Now a word of warning, the ladies will take one look at your epic cuteness and want to hold you. So if you are scared of women much larger than you, be careful while wearing your little bunny dude. lol

The Cinema: A Star is Born

When you're a reporter, sometimes the news breaks fast and there's no time to shave or even iron your shirt. The news waits for no one. So when I heard I there's a hot new starlet in town for a big movie premier, I grabbed a hat and camera and zoomed out the door. But I was in for a shock. This hot new leading lady is not lady at all, she walks on all fours! She's an exotic animal, a Fennux. When I attempted to ask a few questions, she just jumped in my arms, purred, squeaked, and meeped. If only all stars were as cute and cuddly, my job would be so much easier.

The Cinema is an all mesh sim. Inside you can get free movie snacks, and journey through seven theaters in genres such as: SciFi, Romance, Horror, Film Noir, and XXX. All items on sale are new items created for the event from 80 different stores! I really wish this event lasted longer because October has been crazy busy for me. The Cinema tends to be crowded and laggy, so go in a low lag outfit. Cinema ends today. Run go check it out.

The limited edition 3D Fennux Grabber is free at the Cinema with group join. Go the Fennux sim to get the free Pick grabbers, collect all 5. I have been doing the beta of the fens.
