STORYLINE: Snow was piled high in the abandoned streets of New London. The hairs stood up on the back of J's neck. "It's quiet. Too quiet. No obvious signs of violence...." He turned to his mechanical helper, "Guryong, ...can you detect any environmental hazards?" Steam poured from the nostrils of the mechanical dragon as it surveyed their surroundings, and a metallic voice replied, "Master Jang, I detect none. However there is a woman close by." Suddenly, they heard a woman scream, "EEEEK!"

The image above was inspired by the Asian themed elements at the event, and actually gave me the idea to do a manga like series. The large mechanical Dragon by Eliavah is animesh you can wear. It has color to change its textures and glow, and sets of static poses and animations. There is also a version you can ride! (Who's a good boy?) The outfit Oscar by Ash Store is another Must Have. Its gorgeous! I especially like the latex options. lol The Steamer Katana is by the Forge. Its a mod static prop so you can add your scripts and animations to it if you want. STORYLINE: Moments before the nuclear warhead detonated over Cairo, a lone being with supernatural speed flew deep inside the womb of his ancient origins. It was a fitting place to die, he thought, the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Giza. But the blinding nuclear flash did not penetrate the 2.3 million bricks surrounding him. There was impossible heat, the ground trembled, and then slowly the stone turned colder and colder. He didn’t know how long he sat in the dark hoping to hear any signs of life, the flutter of bat wings, the scamper of a beetle.... Nothing. Silence. It wasn’t until finally the thirst grew so intense it drove him out of hiding. There was no way to prepare for the horror he witnessed. He fell to his knees. He had once been so regal, so proud, so convinced of his divine right to rule, but now the tears flowed and there was no one to dry his eyes. No birds in the sky. No creatures on the land. The Nile was frozen and buried under snow and ash. What had once been a bustling city of 9.5 million was vaporized like it never existed. The only proof humans had ever lived there at all was a shadow of a man burned into the pyramid’s stone. He was frozen from the shock, and then an old saying unexpectedly came to mind, "Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids." Yes, like these 4,500 year old stones, he too endures. He took a deep breath, brushed the hair off his face, and plunged deep into the radioactive snow. He had a new purpose now, -- find survivors of the apocalypse. Not to kill. No, those times were over, but to nurture. It was a bitter irony for an old monster like him who cared so little about "the food." There was no time to waste. He detected a faint scent of living blood on the cruel winds. A woman of breeding age was nearing death. Could he get there in time…?
SLS Syndicate brings to you a brand new event, Salvage Station! Round one takes place in a post-acoplyslic wintery world cobbled together from technology from multiple eras, whatever gets the job done. The sim is decorated on theme and even includes a cool hunt to find objects and use them in recipes to create new objects. Nice touch! I also want to take a moment to thank a hero to me, Anne Rice. She passed away yesterday at age 80 from complications of a stroke. Her imagination, and point of view on many topics deeply resonated with me. Her influence will live on inside me, and her creative spark still burns bright on the printed page. RIP

These are the last days of round two of the Engine Room. Be sure to head over and scoop up some badass Steampunk goodies. Shown above is the Commanders coat by Salem. It comes in several base colors. The Gasmask is by The Forge. It comes in black and brown, unrigged and mod so you can adjust it for a good fit. The gun is by Reliquary and comes with a hud to draw, fire, and holster. It has optional textures you load into it. You can also buy a shell caddy for your gun. In the background is the Irongate Wharf by Ex Machina. Its meant for the water, but hey, it can fly too if you give some propellers. lol Other items I used, The Blackjack rare Airship, and past LindenLab premium gift the Marauder. Gloves, pants, and boots are by Contraption. And adding a little movement is the Cureless Senshi cloth from gacha.
STORYLINE: It was risky flying night time bombing runs over Berlin. Sure, the cover of night would protect the bombers but the bombs rarely landed on their intended industrial targets. Faced with this problem, Winston Churchill had an idea. He called the leader of his secret new ally for help, the Children of the Night. This is how the Crimson Bat rose to fame in the newly formed Vampire Nation. He had been a smuggler working in the Pacific with a stolen Zero, and now he was the leader of the Night Fliers, the fighter escort for the nocturnal Allied bombing raids.
This post was inspired by the Deiselpunk elements at the 2nd round of the Engine Room. This round is even larger than the first, and stuffed with amazing and creative quality items. Don’t miss it! The hat by Ungod comes in brown or black, with wrench emblem or not. The Bomber jacket by Krankhaus has fits for major bodies in both mainstream and anime styles. It has a hud to change the change the textures of many separate texture zones. To add a little more of a vampire twist to the outfit, I used the bat barrettes by Cae and earring by Supernatural like medals for a vampire airman. Lol The eyepatch is from the Military Girl gacha by Silvery K. The pants are a gacha from Riot, Bird of Prey. I wanted a unform looking top to go under the jacket, and found a great solution in the Perseo Space suit by L’Emporio&SL. Adding a bit more DieselPunk elements are the headphone by the forge and belt by Deathrow. The Gloves are by Contraption, and undersuit by Blue Falcon Industries. I had a very hard time finding a plane, thats how I ended up with a Zero instead of a B-17 Flying Fortress. HaroMotors has a lovely Zero with well made insides and outsides, and a very hud with many capabilities.
MAY 4 UPDATE: After a week of waiting, a dead monitor was confirmed to be problem. However the replacement monitor is defective. A new new-monitor will arrive May 13th. Over at The End event, is this fantastic new outfit Max by FATEplay. It includes a badass bullet belt that I love so hard, a cool jacket with shirt you can wear under it, a face mask, jeans, and boots too! That's right, FATEwear is now also creating shoes. The boots are included in the outfit, however if you want to mix it up and change the colors on the boots, get the Turner Boots with the color hud. Like all FATEwear products, the FATEstep shoes are also mesh that isn't heavy, so you can wear your new FATEplay and FATEstep at busy events and not suffer from the lag as much as other people. STORYLINE: Every hero has a nemesis, and so did Jesus of Pripyat Park. Before the Apocalypse, the God of the Wastelands had been a minimum wage mechanic named Seth. But in the new reality, he was a ruthless tyrant drunk on his power. How did such a spectacular rise happen? It was due to a simple fact; there were no factories to make parts, and no one knew how to repair pre-war technology. The EM Pulse Warheads wiped out more than bank accounts. Every "How To" manual was also erased. The one who had memorized how to fix things from bikes to guns to refrigerators became greatly in demand.

.....WARNING: Much Horror in the finale..... STORYLINE: She had enough of being scared of bumps in the night, ghosts in her dreams, and being left alone in a dark cold castle. She was not afraid! There was nothing in North Tower, it was merely unsafe. Perhaps it had some crumbling masonry? She grabbed the red key and marched up to the forbidden room. She didn't even pause to reconsider, before she shoved the door open. There, with his back to her the middle of room, stood her husband. He spun around and dropped a goblet in shock. It collided with the cold stone floor. A strange silvery substance splashed out. He was pale and feverish. His hair now a deep metallic blue. "You!" He pointed a long finger at her, "You're just like the rest. Worthless! I told you never come here!" He withdrew his sword, and waved it at her menacingly as he wobbled on his feet. Fresh blood dripped down the blade. She gasped and covered her mouth. "You did this to me! All of you!," he roared. "I traveled the world. No potion too insignificant! No matter what I tried, none of you whores could produce an heir." He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her. She squeaked and tried to loosen his grip. "You're not well, my love! What did you drink? Are you mad from wine?" He threw her on top of a pile of slain women. Who were all these women? What were they doing here? Why are they all killed? The shock was too much, and she fainted. "I was going to keep you, I loved you. I have no need for wives or lovers anymore. There will be no heir. I am the heir, the elixir has made me immortal!" He raised his sword high in the air to strike her down, but before he could deliver the killing blow, he coughed and fell to his knees. He began to vomit violently large volumes of liquid metal. Then the tremors stopped and he lay motionless in a pool of blood, vomit, and mercury. I hope you all liked my twist to the tale of Bluebeard. STORYLINE: All the Druid Clans gathered at the great stone circle to celebrate the Spring Equinox. Being a showoff, he wanted to make a good impression on a special someone who caught his eye. He wanted to cast a flashy magic spell on top of the monoliths, but when he slipped on a damp patch of lichen, his plans didn't work out. His ego was more bruised than his rear.
March is ending soon. Be sure to raid Collabor88 for the cool Low ponytail hair from Tableau Vivant. It works great in many situations including role play. Senzafine is well known for her rich textures on decor and clothing. The guys often don't get love, so I am delighted this month at WLRP, Senzafine has a gorgeous blue tunic and leather leggings for both girls and guys. These fun unrigged boots by Geek are "Gonna Take an Arrow." lol You can get the boots in a style with or without arrows. The badass Bat necklace by The Forge all vamps need. I won a rare at the HorrorFest, but you can try your luck at the mainstore. Another fantastic gacha is the Quivers from Pucca Firecaster. It was in the last round of the Fantasy Gacha but you can also play it now at the main PFC store. The Candle Horns by May Soul were a part of the 25 Tuesday sale for Relay for Life. But if you missed it, you can still find them in the open garden area.

This bonus image is for Jo Yardley's Flickr group, "SecondLife is looking good." The group was created after the meeting with the new Linden Lab's CEO. She wants only images that are not retouched in any way. "Collection of Second Life UNEDITED pictures that show how good this virtual online world can look and what it has to offer. The goal of this group is to collect pictures that show SL to outsiders, not to other SL users, keep that in mind." I thought was an interesting challenge. This picture is the same outfit, location, and windlights as the top image, but this time it's straight out of SL.
The pictures are taken at a new roleplay sim, Grimmrfell Norse, currently featured in the SL Destinations guide. This is a busy sim, with a lot of role players and tourists. You will land in a Viking boat. Look for the free mesh outfit for both men and women. You can wear it to get into the spirit of the sim. From there you can take a boat to explore, or hoof it. Have fun!
Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy VII, a special delivery for Valentine's Day.This was an awesome character to put together. Vincent is a badass goth in Final Fantasy, and his limit breaks are classic horror monsters. (And between you and me, I consider him a vampire too, albeit a Final Fantasy type twist to the genre. This awesome Vincent hair by Ayashi is on sale at the Final Fantasy Fest. You don't have to wear it black, you can wear any other color. The skin is the new release Sean by Tableau Vivant in the palest skintone with dark brow. Isn't the detail around the eyes awesome? Like black thorny tears, he's wearing the Guyliners by Lovely Disarray. Aii has this fun Vincent cloak with flexi tattered ends that swirl and move in a spooky cool way. The eyes are another soulful set from S0NG. I edit the texture to adjust the iris size. The backpack is a new freebie from the BareRose raffle. It's a coffin with a vampire creature trying to get out (which I think is cool symbolism for Vincent, monster in the coffin and he carries a heavy weight.). I totally camped hard for that. lol I added a tint to the wing to match his cloak and headband. The male corset from Schadenfreude I have shown before but this time with a spider texture. There are 3 different textures on the hud for it. The belt and shirt are by Lapointe and Bastchild. The belt is prim and scales on the x,y,z and comes with hud to change colors. The shirt is system and I used it here to work with the cloak. The pants, bracers and shin guards are by The Forge. Crazy person that I am, I wore on top of the Forge boots the goth classic winklepickers by Dare Designs. In Russia, Father Frost looms large this time of year. In an old Russian folktale, Father Frost showed mercy on an unfortunate unloved step-daughter left outside to die. He gave her warm clothes and jewels. When her wicked step-mother sent her own daughter outside hoping to get more jewels, Father Frost delivered swift punishment. Russian Winter is nothing to trifle with.
New Years is the biggest holiday in Russia and lasts for 10 days. Huge tree-like structures are decorated for New Years. A special New Years address is delivered by the president. Olivier salad is eaten and much champagne is consumed. Gifts of the new year's zodiac animal are exchanged. 2014 is The Year of the Horse. For my friends in Russia, С Новым Годом!

STORYLINE: It was supposed to be an easy victory on the battlefield. His enemy did not have the weapons, strategy, or the numbers to defeat his army. But what he didn't know was an evil sorceress used black magic to turn the tide of the battle against him. He and his beloved war horse were now cursed. He was forced to be only a specter watching over what was once his kingdom. He was helpless to do anything to stop the rampaging forces of darkness. Until one day the Sorceress made a fatal mistake. She tried to gain control over the ghost realm. Now it was his turn to dispose of her!

This was a wonderful Halloween treat, a three person joint project between me, as the Ghost Warrior, Fulli as the Ghost Horse, and Aarya Phantomhive (of the Dark Phantom blog) as the Evil Sorceress. This hair style worked great under the helmet, and has a good period style look to it with a natural body wave and the higher cut is more like a Knight style. STORYLINE: The Maiden of the Moon brought stability to the world. Her enchanted moonflower each night summoned another successful lunar rise.

STORYLINE: When his father, the King, was killed in battle against the Saxon raiders, the young Prince took up his father's Sundisk banner and charged into the fight. He had no weapons or armor. He was a spoiled noble, not a trained fighter. He wished to be killed quickly. Funny how things don't go according to plan.
