Cyber Fair: Attack of the Cursed ANGEL

STORYLINE: The beeping started as a faint whisper in the background, a rhythmic pulse that barely registered against the cold hum of the underground bunker. The kidnappers, hardened men of the underworld, paused, their nerves fraying as the sound grew louder.

Then a flash. White-hot, like a snapshot searing into their retinas. The leader, a scarred brute named Korbin, cursed and reached for his weapon.

"What the hell was that?" one of his men muttered, his grip tightening on his rifle.

Before anyone could answer, the distant chaos began. Gunfire echoed through the tunnels. The sharp cries of dying men pierced the stale air. The unmistakable sounds of destruction, shattering glass, collapsing walls, the screech of metal being torn apart, crept closer.

Korbin spun toward the android they had chained to the rusted chair in the center of the room. RED, their prize, their leverage, merely smiled. A synthetic face sculpted to perfection, eyes gleaming with something almost… amused.

"The Cursed Angel is coming," RED said, voice smooth as silk but laced with eerie certainty.

Korbin felt his stomach twist into knots. He had heard the stories. Whispers in the dark about an entity that moved like a ghost, struck like a demon, and left nothing but corpses in its wake.

"No," he growled, grabbing RED by the collar. "Tell me the truth! What's coming for us? Tell me before we all die!"

RED tilted its head, expression unreadable. Then, with almost reverent quiet, it spoke: "Its a symbiotic relationship, a Trinity. Kujo caged an ancient evil. The last of its kind. You see, starvation can bring even the strongest monster to its knees."

Before Korbin could demand more, the world exploded. The side of the bunker disintegrated in a burst of fire and debris. Dust choked the air, and through the settling smoke, an eerie glow seeped in, a burning light that silhouetted the towering figure standing in the wreckage.

The Cursed Angel stepped forward, slow, deliberate. His long regal cape billowed in the rush of hot air, his heavy exoskeleton boots crunching over the shattered remains of the bunker’s defenses. And then he snarled, the baring long, gleaming fangs.

Korbin’s blood ran cold.

RED’s voice cut through the chaos, steady as ever. "The Father acquires. The Son is the sacrifice. And the Holy Ghost is their protector." 

Korbin barely had time to scream.

This post is inspired by my very first cyberpunk blog post, and it started with an idea: Would vampires die out in the future as they don't change but human do. With technology, cyberizations and genetic engineering, would humans still be easy to hunt, and would they even still be compatible to the vampire's diet? 

 ...The halo on the Cursed Angel is by Rozoregalia. Touch it to shift between 3 colors, fullbright, and resizes.  ...The stunning red armor, Infermun Viel, is by Bison. It includes a sinister tall hood and scary robotic mask, and animated LED glows. It comes in several color themes, but red is my favorite. ... Adding to the magical vibe are the animated the Energy lines by Amadeus which swirl around the arms and shoulders. ...The face mask is by SOLE, and there are several texture versions available. ...Flying close by, is the Cursed Angel's helper, the Jellybot. I used the cool WWII texture for the bot. You can find it in the fatpack. The bot is Animesh and can fidget in place, or float around. ...The big plasma gun by RekTrevor is super cool. It shoots a massive blast with impressive details in smoke and spiraling sparks. It includes several animations for both men and woman, (draw, hold, reload, fire, stance) and you can change out the gun's textures too. ... The moody cybertatstic setting is by Zeroichi. I loved that it was mod and I could move around a few things for my pictures.

STORYLINE: RED’s servos whirred as he struggled, the synthetic sinews beneath his chrome plating straining against the magnetic restraints. His last recorded memory flickered in his quantum core, standing outside Club Aqua, bathed in the pulsing blue glow of the club’s underbelly, his velvet voice coaxing patrons inside. "Drinks. Cythroid. Pleasure." Then blackout.

Now laying in a jail cell next to a strange offering of stimulated human food, he wondered where he was being held. It was dark and reeked of sweat. A warehouse? An abandoned facility? His optical HUD flickered through possible locations, but his captors had been careful, no GPS, Net, or HIVE access.

A jagged voice cut through the silence.

“You know why you’re here, tin man?”

RED’s processors whirred in confusion. The most logical answer was a jealous husband, he had seen his share of those. Or maybe traffickers, high-end androids like him fetched a fortune on the black market.

Instead, the figure looming over him growled a name he didn’t expect.

“Eden. The boy. Who is he?”

RED’s neural circuits reeled. Eden. The ethereal child who never left the VIP lounge, always under the watch of that inhuman warden, the Cursed A.N.G.E.L.?

RED’s synthetic throat flexed, his voice smooth despite the tension in his restraints.

“You think I know?”

A fist crashed into his face, shattering the false skin of his cheek, exposing the gleaming metal beneath.

“Then let’s start with what you do know.”

As they powered up a pain emulator, a cruel little toy meant to make machines scream, RED calculated his odds of survival.

They weren’t good.

Yes, of course I took inspiration for this image from the Bailizhi's take of the Deepspace prison wear for naughty vampires. lol. I hope I was able to come up with something you Deepspace fans and Cyber fans would both enjoy. The matching hairstyle for the BlackShift outfit is unrigged and comes in a wealth of color options, it was fun to try them all, (I loved the auburns).  Red's body android lines and material body shine is by Abyssal. It comes in Wet and Dry variety, works perfectly on male or female bodies. And includes a few additional tech word tattoo options. ...Can we talk about how nice the Cerridwens-Cauldron food set is? I didn't expect to see such nicely crafted cyberpunk food at the event, but it's totally a must have for any cyber setting! The textures and materials on the noodles, eggs, and soup look so real.  ...Sole is the master of Cyber accessories, and ARA2 doesn't disappoint. I used the headset for Red. The set also includes a full respirator and electrodes for the forehead. ...The Tech handcuffs by Solares are a gift you can find in the marketplace. ...The setting is the cells by Varonis with chains by Static and Fayded.  ...(fyi, The mesh head I used here is an pre-bom and bento mesh head by TMP. I'm hoping someday we will get an update on them, it has a unique Anime/Bishonen look no other mesh head has!)

The Strange Case of Dr Oliver Paynesworth

Death Row Designs will be delivering another fun gacha and hunt for Halloween this year. The theme this time is Asylum. This is my entry to DRD's the "Join the Family" contest. I brought out one of my favorite asylum dwelling characters. Enjoy. Style Credits below the story.

The Strange Case of Dr Oliver Paynesworth 

(as told by the Admitting Nurse at the Rosewood Asylum)

It had been an ordinary day at the Rosewood Asylum when the town’s respected general practice doctor, Dr Oliver Paynesworth, strolled past me without a word, not even a Hello, and disappeared down the long of hall of Rosewood’s worst behaved residents, otherwise known as the "inmates." Of course I went to fetch him, since we don’t allow visitors to that wing of the asylum. 

I discovered him in the oddest place. He had taken the last room to the right and barricaded the door with the back of a chair so that I could not open it. I looked through the glass peephole and saw him, just sitting in the middle of the room on the floor with a vacant look in his eyes.

“Excuse me Dr Oliver, What are you doing? Is there something wrong?”

He didn’t look at me as he said in a hallow voice, “I am admitting myself. I am a danger to society. Please leave me alone.”

Alarmed, I fetched the director of the Institution. He spoke to the Doctor for some time before he came back out shaking his head. “Nurse, can you please check into this?” He had filled out a form to accept Dr Oliver and wrote that the Dr believed he could kill with a mere thought. He blamed himself for his fiancé’s death after she broke up their engagement. He wanted me to call her doctor to check if the story was true. 

Dr Oliver’s case turned out to be a sad example of the ravages of grief, most likely driven by intense regret that his last words to his fiancé were, "I hope you die." Turns out she had just discovered her diagnosis of terminal cancer and couldn’t bring herself to tell him, so she abruptly broke off their engagement without explanation. We figured after some grief counseling, and revealing the truth of why she ended their relationship, he would return to normal. But sadly, that’s not what happened.

One day we found him in a pool of blood. He had cut off his own legs with exceptional surgical skill. What he used, we have no clue, but it must have been a very large sharp blade. We searched high and low for this dangerous weapon but could never discover where he had hidden it. He was ranting on and on about offering his legs to Death in exchange for bringing his beloved back to life.

He had clearly taken a turn for the worse. 

We were able to stop the bleeding. Once he had recovered, we gave him a wheelchair and fitted him with new prosthetic legs. I think Dr Rosewood held hope he could save his old friend.

As the months passed, Dr Oliver would sit on the floor, not eating, or speaking…. Other "inmates" requested to be transferred away from his unsettling dark aura. Except one. She requested to be moved directly across from him. In truth, she was here because she was in so much pain her family couldn't care for her. She was often yelling across the hall, begging Dr Oliver to kill her. If he heard her, I don’t know. He was covered in dust by then. Cobwebs hung from his eyelashes too. I thought he was long dead and everyone was too scared to go in and check.

But he was not dead.

The morning on the 19th, I discovered front door of the Rosewood Asylum was open. No "inmates" escaped. No, instead they were all yelling, crying, and cowering their rooms. When I reached the last door on the right, it was open. Dr Oliver was gone. There was no sign of him. I checked across the hall and the lady was still locked inside her room. No one entered, but she was clearly dead. White as a sheet. And smiling.

It was creepy. We closed off that cursed wing of Rosewood. No one ever did see Dr Oliver Paynesworth again. The only clue we had as to what became of him was a note left on the floor.

It is time for me to go now.

Aenigma (Madness) : Contagion

STORYLINE: No one knew how it started. A sneeze in a subway car? The bite of an exotic pet? Perhaps a meal created of dubious ingredients? Surely no one would have deliberately infected over million people in Mopire City with what they call "The Blood Pox," ...that would be insane.

Oh yes, you can tell where my head is with this image. Its hard to escape our reality at the moment. I hope you all are taking precautions during the SARS2-CoV-19 outbreak. Thoughts about the pandemic leaked into my first image for the Madness theme round of Aenigma. I was inspired by the claws, and syringe to make a type of Outbreak image. Omg I love these L'Emporio&PL claws so much! They come with fits for Niramyth Aesthetic, Jake 2.0, Legacy m, and Gianni. They include a texture hud with 14 gothic and bloody textures plus alpha options to turn on and off individual nails. There is a very good chance I might wear these forever. lol  From Reliquary is a cool oversized Syringe guaranteed to make any needle-squish people weak in the knees. It comes with a pose and optional textures you can drop on it to change up its look. I used the Red textures. The bracelets from Badwolf include 4 styles in gold and silver. The are unrigged so you can edit them and move them around for the best fit.

Japonica: a Walk in the Snow

STORYLINE: When the snow was falling, it was so peaceful and quiet. Konpeki loved it and wanted to enjoy it even though it was unwise to walk alone on stairs and the icy paths in his ankle-breaking tall geta. But this was his art. If he could not make it look easy and elegant he would need to find a new job. He was a rare Male Geisha. Everywhere he went, people stopped and stared. Normally he loved the attention and charmed the crowds well, but on a quiet cold night like this, he loved his alone time with nature more.

The Fall of Prince Ravenna, 2

STORYLINE: Suddenly, a fiery serpentine dragon roared down the great hall of Castle Ravenna. The chains wrapped around its body glowed and dripped to the stone floor like lava from a volcano. Its bellows shook the stained glass windows. "Fool! I cannot be bound! My magic does not create beauty where none exists. It brings inner beauty to the surface for all to see." It's sharp claws encased Prince Ravenna. "You can not force me to give upon you the same blessing as the child Snow White." It's grip tightened, "but if that's what you want, that's what you shall have." A fiery glow swirled around them. When it was done the dragon's symbol was branded to the Prince's flesh and the beauty of his youth restored. "Now be careful," it said with a smirk, "least your wicked deeds ruin your pretty face."

Fantasy Faire 2017: The Violinist of Venice

STORYLINE: Water lapped at the edges of the Piazza San Marco as the night sky softened to pinks and purples. A lone figure emerged from the shadows carrying a violin case and music stand. He was dressed in formal clothes from another time period. In any other city, he would have drawn stares however this was Venice. Wearing a mask was not considered odd either. As the man took off his cloak, and positioned his music stand, several locals quickly took up best sitting spots nearby. They knew to expect his exquisite concerts in the spring. And he did not disappoint. His music was so powerful, several women tried to discreetly wipe away their tears. Money began to fill his violin case. There were murmurs he was someone famous, but no one really knew. He didn't talk much, just nodded and said thank you, He always took his earnings to the nuns at St. Mark's Basilica and asked them to donate it for him to cancer research. The nuns knew to not ask questions, but surely his heartfelt music reflected a soul grieving the loss of someone dear.

2066: Geisha of Debtors Prison

STORYLINE: Rain fell gently into the rejuvenation pool. It was a special lubricant for the joints of androids, and cyborgs. His constant companions, Gertie 1 and 2 sighed joyfully. More accurately they were the jail-keepers of his personal hell. He would never get used to it, this artificial prison of a body he inhabited. It was one year ago, when he was given a choice: Die from his injuries in debtors' prison, or willingly submit to full cyberization to work off his debts. What was his crime for such a horrendous sentence? He refused to pay the Cyber Mafia over a lost bet. The Deathmatch between BattleBot EVA and the vampire was obviously rigged. So he threw his scumbag loan shark into the display case for some silly ancient relic. And for that crime, he was turned from a bearded hard drinking gambler into the sleek androgynous Gynoid Geisha no.10023. His only purpose was to please the twisted kinks of his master, Kujo, ringleader of the Cyber Mafia. Was it fair? Hell no. But the cops weren't coming to save him. He signed paperwork making the cyberization legal. Besides, he was just a brain lodged inside a very expensive polycarbonate body now, literally the property of Kujo. What was left to save? He died. STORYLINE: High above the busy streets of Insilico, a man's laughter rang out from the most plush penthouse of the city. Kujo, ringleader of the Cyber Mafia, was plugged into an expensive VR gaming rig. A silent android watched him in the otherwise empty room as he twisted and dodged attacks from some unseen enemy. "Hey, Gertie," he yelled a little too loudly, "I haven't had this much fun since I was a little shit in the global games tourney." The android nodded politely. "Superior technique, Master. No one will suspect the mighty EVA is piloted by a human this time." The droid turned to look at the flickering security monitors from her master's overhyped Death Match: Battle Bot EVA vs a bona-fide Creature of the Night. No one thought the vampire would win, it looked like it was starved to death. Interest in the fight was remarkably high. Perhaps because it was so rare to see a living Nosferatu. They were thought extinct long ago. She looked at the massive number of bets pouring in from the net. "Everything is proceeding to plan. EVA is heavily favored to win." Kujo laughed, "I think its time EVA stumbled, don't you?" He faked a trip. Gertie watched silently as the vampire took advantage. It made quick work of Eva, then leapt into the screaming crowd to begin feasting on them. Gertie turned away from the carnage. Was it wise to let that... thing, live? Wait. She turned to the haloscreen of the VIP viewing boxes. Fights were breaking out. "Master look!" she pointed. They both saw it at the same time. The display case of Kujo's most prized possession, the Yata no Kagami, was shattered as a gambler tossed a loan shark into the display. Kujo quickly unhooked himself from the rig. Fury blazed in his cybernetically enhanced eyes, "Ready my copter, NOW!"

STORYLINE: From across the open spaceship hanger, he could see the anxious faces of the freedom fighters, called the Eden Railroad, waiting for him. When the coast was clear, they gestured for him to quickly come. He took a deep breath, prayed, then raced across the hanger. "You there, stop!" A guard spotted him. Loud metallic clangs struck the metal grating around him. He zigged and zagged. Keep running! He was so close, just a few more....  Suddenly, a white hot blast of heat hit him from above. He felt weightless for a moment, then everything faded to black.  ...As his conscious returned, the first thing he noticed was the roar of wind in his ears. His eyes snapped open. The giant city in the sky was growing smaller and smaller above him. All the events in his life which lead up to this fateful moment poured into his mind.  ...His parents telling him to hide as the monstrous half-human super soldiers rounded up everyone in his village. His life on the streets as an orphan. The struggle to learn the strange technology of the "English." His shock after an elderly couple took him in, and explained the truth of his situation. He was what they called an Eden, untouched by all cyberization or genetic manipulation. He was worth a thousand times his weight in gold. Why? Because millions around the world were afflicted with strange maladies. There were few living purely human gene pools left on Earth. His people, the Amish, had sworn off technology since the 18th century. Instead of spaceships, they had horse and buggy. The culture shock had been severe, but he had done his best to blend in. He lived in fear of being caught and dissected for his pristine DNA. As the ground raced up to greet him, suddenly, his fall stopped. He felt a magnetic force around his waist. He was caught him in a tractor beam. Above him was the Ship of the Eden Railroad pockmarked with laser blasts, but still flyable. He was saved!

He should run, but still he stood frozen completely mesmerized by the approaching vision of beauty and elegance. The Yuki-Bidanshi's eyes sparkled with mischief as it glided before him. It was remarkable just how much it looked like his coach Victor. "Wake up, Sleeping Beauty,” the spirit smiled playfully. “Lessons began half an hour ago. You’re late." Oh shit! STORYLINE: Dr Oliver Conray shuffled into the dreary bedroom provided by his Grim taskmaster. In disgust, he tossed his scythe against the bed and sunk onto its faded surface. Dust wafted up and danced in pale light before his strange blacked-out eyes. Standing in the light by the window was the ghostly form of a refined lady. Her delicate voice broke the tense silence, “What happened my love?” He sighed. He didn't want waste a single precious moment he had with his beloved over unpleasant matters. After all, he had paid a horrendous price for the privilege. But still, his heart ached for the life he left behind. "I killed my last living friend today."


For you goth boys, I have some fun things to share. First, I experimented with mixed mesh bodies once more. The upper body is The Mesh Project Male and wearing Gabriel Body Belt shirt. The lower is... *drumrolls* ...Maitreya. Why? For the simple reason that I was able to rock this badass outfit by Moon Elixir thanks to this little trick. Its on sale at the Fantasy Gach Carnival. Paired with the shirt, these two outfits actually worked together really well. My only complaint (besides heavy avatar render weight) is the foot size. Sadly the foot can not be scaled up.  The wonderful black oil tears are from this year's Halloween offering by Tableau Vivant. Its one of the Mort Vivant faces for new skin Marcus. To go with the oily tears, I used the Cubic Cherry Loss eye and tears and tinted it black.  For the hands, is the Cursed Hand applier by Lovely Dissarray. In the background is the fun Hunter Scythe by Swagga. Oh and, one more thing... Did I also mention the *must have* bed for any self-respecting vampire in Secondlife? The Death Row Vampire Gothic Bed set. Worth every single L.

STORYLINE: Metal scraped against the cold stone tiles. The sound echoed in the atrium of the Blessed Virgin's Home for the Mentally Insane. The crazed chatter of the denizens, each locked carefully in their padded rooms, suddenly fell silent. It was so quiet, the soft pad of bare feet sauntering down the hall was audible. One daring old man peeked through a small crack in the doorframe. "Dr. Oliver Conray? he gasped. The scantly clad figure outside froze. "Oh, thank god it is you," the old man wiped the sweat from his brow. "I was worried something bad had happened to you. Say, uh...," he leaned in close to the door and whispered, "How about you help your old card playing buddy out? Let me outta here?" He smiled hopefully. The mute figure of Dr. Oliver Conray slowly turned towards the old man. His face was pale as death, eyes a souless inky black. The old man recoiled in horror. Dr. Oliver Conray raised his scythe high in the air, and with a mighty swish, the old man dropped dead to the ground.

It comes in fits for several female mesh bodies but no males. I used Slink female mesh body on the male base shape to model this outfit, and wore the male Mort Vivant skin for slink by TableauVivant. Works great in the back, but sadly Slink female does not have a flat chest option for the front. (The male and female Slink bodies are being updated right now. I put in a request for a flat chest option.) (Another option for genderbendering your way into clothing not originally made for men is to use the Maitreya mesh body with the Boi chest mod you can find in the marketplace.) Also shown is this amazing Asylum build by Madpeas. It is HUGE. It needs a full or half sim to rez.  The Scythe with inlay is by Swagga from a past Totally Top Shelf. The Edward hair by Tableau Vivant is on sale at The Men's Department. It includes a fit for default head and TMP head.

STORYLINE: Drip, drip, drip. The passage of time was like the steady drip of water into his tomb. The Temple of the Moon had long since been forgotten. Thick jungle vines covered it's secret entrance. Unknown to him, the legend of the Feathered Serpent had become something he would barely recognize. He remembered the frantic prayers of the lake people. They called him Quetzalcoatl and begged him to strike down the false god, Cortez. But still he slept. Meddling in the affairs of humans is how he came to be in this cursed sleep. ...However, today was different. Cautious footsteps of a trespasser echoed in his maze. Trap after trap was sprung. He chuckled to himself. He had created many delicious ways for fools to die. There was a loud bang followed by a sharp metal swish. The scent of blood wafted in the damp air. He licked his parched lips. Had it been 4000 years since he last drank blood? He felt sad his entertainment was over. Wait. His eyes snapped opened. The steps were continuing. This could be no human. Who dared to invade his lair?!
