Fantasy Faire : The Hidden City of Tenpyo

STORYLINE: Hidden beyond a snowy pass deep in the Nippon mountains, was the twelve hundred year old city of Tenpyo, the capital of the Oni Lands. Beautiful. Regal. A place untouched by modern times. It had been safely defended all these years. Until one day, the Benimurasaki Onmyōdō detected the evil miasma of the Unweaver had infiltrated their paradise.

The Fantasy Faire is back! This post was inspired by the hat and veil by Hopscotch and the fun skin and tattoo by Soul and AERTH. Not to mention, this stunning sim created by Gabriel. Here is a quick FAQ on Fantasy Faire off the top of my head.

**Q: What is the Fantasy Faire?**
A: Its an annual event hosted by the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Its like SL's World Cup or Super Bowl. It's HUGE! The theme is Fantasy (fiction, fashion, role play, decor, sim design, tabletop games, video games, anime/manga/comics, radio station, parties, art galleries, quest games, etc)

**Q: They raising funds?**
A: yes! All designers participating have an item for sale that is either a 100% donation or 50%. There is also a silent auction. Donations. And a Hud you purchase to play a quest game with stories, videos, and prizes. (note: A higher level hud includes an outfit for men and women). Last year in 2021 the Fantasy Faire in SL raised a new record, $95,178 in US Dollar (that's L$23,794,648 in Linden Dollars). So far this year after 8 days, the Fantasy Faire has raised $42,503 USD (that's 10,625,800L). Yes, I was not kidding when I said its huge! Relay for Life says of all their fund raising operations, SecondLife's Fantasy faire is by far the biggest fund raiser per money invested in an event. )

**Q: Ok! I want to see it, do I need to dress up in a costume?**
A: Come however you want, Fantasy allows for barely clothed styles, furries, city smashing giants, fairies, animal avatars, tiny kittens, robots, whatever you want as long as it's PG. But a word of  WARNING, the sims are very full of people and objects. To avoid lag, and enjoy the best experience, wear a low lag avatar, and work for graphic settings to keep frame rates up. **Q: What is there to do?**
A: Explore the 20 sims! Its very big deal to land a sim to decorate for the Fantasy Faire. Its SL's finest creating amazing fantasy settings. This my favorite part of the fair. I also enjoy people watching and making new friends. I have made many long lasting friends at the fair, good people too. You can also visit during live DJ shows and Live dance Performances. The Lit Sim has gatherings to talk about certain books and authors. Tabletop game tournament. Several sims have their own Hunts and Games. And the big game will start soon, you purchase a hud to play it. The first part usually requires hunting for objects hidden across the sims. The 2nd part takes place on the game sim, with puzzles. You can also shop like crazy. Lots of amazing stuff.

Wizarding Faire: The Trouble with Doyle, part 3

STORYLINE: Fia ran up the cobblestone path to Doyle’s medieval family home. He had his back to her and was wearing a long hooded green cape. “Finally,” she panted. “Hey, was that the Headmaster I just saw leaving?” Doyle didn't react. He seemed stunned. In one hand was an empty tea cup and in the other was some kind of formal owl mail letter. She peered over his shoulder, “Oh, is that an acceptance to bring you back to Hogwarts?” He only seemed to notice her when she lost her balance and almost fell onto him. He turned a solemn face towards her, and she gasped. His beautiful long locks were gone and he was wearing a mask. She took a step backwards. If she didn’t know better, she would have thought he was a Death Eater. “What happened to you?” 

Doyle looked down again and stared at the tea cup. “There was an accident. A misfire. Apparently I am dyslexic.” She couldn’t help but feel nervous, he was acting very strangely. “So umm…, what was the Headmaster doing here?” 

“He said he would never have expelled me, but the Ministry of Magic forced his hand. Someone embedded in the Ministry wants that cursed Dementor summoning spell I accidentally created.” He turned and looked at Fia. “The Headmaster erased the original spell from textbooks to prevent any attempt to reverse engineer what I did. All of them. Every single book, like it never existed. And from the minds of all students too, ...except me.” Doyle looked off towards the setting sun. “He said, I’m its discoverer. The first new spell in over 133 years. He says I need it for leverage. …You should go away from me.”

“No, Doyle,” she tugged on his cape. “I don’t understand what’s going on, why you are dressed that way, and what's in that letter…”

"Here," he gave it at her. It was invitation to join an elusive private school for pureblood witches and wizards. “They made it clear they were a very expensive. Too expensive for a simple farmboy, but they would graciously waive all fees if I give them the Dementor spell.”

“No. Don’t do it!”

Doyle shrugged, “Do I even have a choice? My magic is growing stronger and I can't control it. Either I join them, or discover which of them infiltrated the Ministry of Magic. If I do that, and I can return to Hogwarts under the Headmaster's protection.” 

He looked down at the tea leaves in the cup. “Apparently, its a very dangerous mission.” He dropped the cup and it shattered on the rough stones. “Goodbye.” He mounted his broom and turned to leave. 

“No, Wait!” She shoved the symbol-casting spellbook at him. “Take this. It will help you!”

He looked at the book, then his eyes opened wide in amazement. It was like he finally saw her. "Its simple," she beamed, "Don't chant, Draw! No more accidents!" 

He carefully tucked the book inside his robes, nodded a thanks to her, and flew away.

Wizarding Faire: The Trouble with Doyle

STORYLINE: There are many kinds of aspersing witches and wizards at Hogwarts. But there were none quite like Doyle. Popular with a burning desire to be the best, he landed easily in House Slytherin. Everything seemed to be going his way when his grades began to slip. He was in real danger of failing. He stopped going to events and parties. He disappeared often, and spoke to no one. The headmaster of Slytherin had enough, he searched all hidden corners of Hogwarts before finally discovering a sad and frustrated Doyle, alone in the tower trying over and over to cast a spell right. ...You see, spells require concentration, and an exact recital. Change any word, or any order of an incantation, and horrible things could happen. In fact, there floating over Doyle's shoulder was a baby Dementor. The headmaster gasped. He never knew such a thing was even possible! Troubled, his eyes darted to the spellbook in Doyle's hand. And then, he suddenly realized what happened. “Doyle, are you dyslexic?”

It's finally here! Grab your broom and race to the Wizarding Faire 2021, it opens today and runs until August 21st. The image above was inspired by the tiny pet Dementor by Hopscotch, HotDog Cape, the richly detailed Mage decor items by DRD, and a little bit of my childhood experience Dyslexia. The Dementor you can wear and it will hover over your shoulder. The Cape comes in rigged sizes for small, medium, and tall, and also includes an unrigged version. It also has a hud with a few poses you can trigger to work with the cape. I am a huge capes fan, I love this. The Skull Wand is by the team of Skellybones and Star Sugar. It has several built in animations you can trigger by touching it. Nice animations for wands too. The Spellbook by KitCat also comes with a wand and an animations. You click the hud and choose a fun spell to prank your friends, like give them a fit of giggles. lol The Mage Den decor by Death Row is a delight to look at with so many fun details. I especially love the table with crystal magic. Very cool. From over at Midnight Order, I have three super cool items that work well together for the gothy inclined men, the Nocturne Arms by Wicca, Hot Dog broken glasses, and Mitore outfit by AsteriodBox. The Armwarmers have a nice texture hud to change the colors to fit any outfit. The Broken Glasses are by Hotdog come in 3 different metallic colors. And the Mitore outfit fatpack also includes a hud to switch round the colors all you want. The thigh high boots are also built into the pants. If you want a grittier version, there is a side texture pack you can get at the event.

Wizarding Faire 2020: First Day of School

STORYLINE: Fennimore's parents told him he had to take his little cousin Willow with him to Hogwarts. She was shy and worried about getting lost in the train station. When he didn't offer his hand for her to hold, she held onto his shirt tail instead. "I'm going to be in Ravenclaw too, Fenny!" she shouted over the busy noise. "We can have lunch and dinner together everyday!" But he could hardly stay mad at her. When he disappeared into the wall at platform 9 3/4, she gasped. Her eyes shone brightly. It reminded him of his first time going to Hogwarts. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to help her out.

Wizarding Faire is so full of good stuff to inspire, it can be hard to pick a theme! A Strange Occurrence On the Galactic Frontier, 1

STORYLINE: Oucei lived alone in a guardpost on the outer rim of the galaxy. His only companion was his pet jellyfish Twinkles. Sometimes when staring into the stark black sky, Oucei wondered how his color changing pet felt about being enclosed in a glass bubble for years. Sure, Twinkles could steer his bubble around, but wouldn't he rather swim freely in the gentle glowing waves of his home spawning waters? That sounded nice, Oucei sighed. He missed the sound of water the most. Nothing exciting happened on this distant lifeless moon. But he had no sooner wished for drama when suddenly he was jarred by screeching alarm sirens.

The Multiverse is an Sci-Fi events for all the avatars of Second Life whether their idea of Sci-Fi is space opera, cyberpunk, retro scifi, or dystopian, there's something for everyone. This year's event is organized by Mirajai Maven of BluPrintz, and landscaped by sohma Dix of Papermoon. Shown above are the futuristic Medusa Collar, Olympus tee and vest by Titzuki. The tee comes in black, blue, lilac, nude or white with fits for male, female, and even femboy! The collar and the vest are semi transparent with a glowing edge like fiber optics. It comes in 5 choices, and the fatpack include bonus colors. By Anachron is the DataBracer Wrist Mounted Server. When worn it triggers a pose for looking at the popup display. You can get it in white, black, grey, pink, hacker, or kawaii texture themes. The hud will can change the animated computer display screens, trigger poses for popping open and looking at the screen, typing, and also to change the color of the display. The pet jellyfish ufo is from the BluPrintz Humanitys Arc gacha. He slowly changes color over time. Touch it and a little jet effect will trigger. Also from the Humanity Arc gacha, is the Ark Computer in the background. Behind that is the Star Chart by BluePrintz. It can be worn on the wrist to rezzed for decor. From We <3 Roleplay is the wonderful Hand Stitched Leather Leggings by Lassitude & ennui. It looks like mesh clothing but is actually an applier. Clever. it works perfectly with the outfit.  From DarkendStare are 3 fun pieces for my alien boy from the Celestial Dragon gacha. The very cool glowing tattoo is the Water Golem by Fallen Gods, on the Pure Water skin also by Fallen Gods. Finishing Oucei's look is the Nekoto hair by Ayashi pastels pack with the perfect green color. The hud includes option to show or hide the nekp ears. You guys like this setting? The good news is its a group grift by Isil! Just go to the mainstore and join the group to get this amazing lunar skybox home.

The Retro Game Adventure

STORYLINE: The leader singer of a California punk rock band, Dino had a passion for video games. The bright colors and happy 8-bit bleeps made his child's heart glow. He repaired old arcade machines and game consoles as a side business to supplement his income in-between gigs. But there was one game he longed for that he could never find. Until one day he got a mysterious email.

This gamer room makes me feel stupid happy, like a cozy hideout where your buds come over and you shoot the shit for hours. lol You can get the Retro Game goodies at the new round of Level Up, but you need to be fast, the 5th is the last day. From Level Up: The little green hair elves are wearable pets gacha by swagga. The Tossing Barrels Arcade game by Nomad is a wearable backpack and it is animated! (I scaled it up larger for the picture and hid the backpack straps.) The Pac Man Ghost wall art is by Frogstar, and the black art poster is by Unrependant. On the table are the brick cube, coin, and question mark box are by Mien. The Gamer bracelet and ring are a gacha by Nomad. It's non-rigged so you can adjust it for a good fit. The Headgear is by Swagga and it's also editable non-rigged mesh. The glass elements on the eye piece are animated and you can change the color with a hud. Other things I am wearing: The new years group gift hair from Tableau Vivant comes with all the color huds and it has fits for girls and guys. The piercings are by Haus of Darcy and were on sale at the last round of Tengoku-no-rakuen. (Also by Haus of Darcy on sale at Creation.Jp are nipple piercings with several styles of piercings.) The jean vest by 7 Mad Ravens is on sale right now at the Cosmopolitan Sales Room. You can get it in Punk like above, camo, or rebel styles. The Wasted jeans are also by 7 Mad Ravens. In this 2nd view of the game room you can see the Vintage Gamer set on the right by Fetch. it includes a retro game console, table, and flat screen tv. To the left is the Gamer Living room by NOMAD. Enchantment: Sleeping Beauty1

STORYLINE: My name is Princess Aurora. If I have committed a crime against god, man, or nature, I know not what it was. I been locked in a coma, unchanged, since my sixteenth year. In the beginning as I laid helpless and prone, I heard the sobs of my mother, her tears falling upon my hand. The entire village grieved over my wretched fate. Three fairies, who meant well, cast a spell to put everyone to sleep along with me so that they might awake when I somehow escape this hell. But the fairies did not know I was aware in my slumber. I was merely paralyzed. There was nothing left to keep me from going mad. Not even the birds chirped outside. I have now been locked inside this flesh prison for over 100 years. I prey everyday, Merciful God, our father in heaven, please let me die.

Oh I love taking the fairy tales and coming up with a new twist to them. I thought about my verison of Sleeping Beauty all month, I hope you all will enjoy it. How many of you are planning to see the new movie Maleficent this weekend? *raises hand* But right here in SL for only 2 more days you can scoop up excellent creations in the theme of Sleeping Beauty. Pictured above are two wild interpretations of the tale. Anc has created an elegant surrealistic bed that contains single and couples poses. Matching the bed is a creepy surgical lighting structure. The lights will turn on and off, spin, and tilt. To complete the setting, you can pick up the Anc stamp prize of iron balls and thrones. The dress by The Annex comes with a corset, and birdcage skirt with flowers. The Slink high heel shoes by Annex match the dress and come in the garden style or black with thorns. How much do I love this hair by Mina?  A lot! The windblow style is wonderful hair to have for any SL denizen, and can you believe this is a stamp prize? It's also an exclusive to the event. In fact, everything in Enchantment is an exclusive. When June 1st hits, all these items will disappear! The bracelets are a prize by Boom and come in several colors, plus a hud to change the rose color. STORYLINE: I remember the day it happened like a nightmare repeating over and over in my mind. I had discovered an interesting new contraption in an abandoned section of the castle. It had a wheel that spun, a spool of yarn, and a tall needle point. Being always the curious one, I merely wondered if it was sharp and touched it.

Junbug always makes such great historical dresses.  This one is called Sleeping Beauty and you can get it in blue, green, black, or red. The flower vine mask and armbands are wonderful and they are the stamp prize from Lark. The spinning wheel is by Hopscotch and comes with great roleplaying poses for your Beauty. The large and small mirrors are by Unrepentant. They are not just mirrors, they store images and play them back! The hourglass is a stamp prize from OhMai, and Beauty's Vanity desk is the stamp prize from Unrepentant. The desk has poses for doing makeup and will attach makeup tools to you. It also contains couple poses. The garden plots are the stamp prize from The Annex. It has sleeping poses for Beauty as she lays among the flowers.

This round of Enchantment is different from the past versions, instead of central sim to shop you visit each store that is practicing. Look for the Enchantment sign and the stamp booth. Once you have purchased one item, you will see a stamp card inside the folder. Wear it and visit each store in this round. Find the stamp booth and touch it. As you go, your stamp card will be filled. Once you have then all done, head to the prize collect and select one of the prizes there to redeem with your completed stamp card. NOTE: You can wear multiple stamp cards at the same time to fill them all at one, BUT do not wear them all when you collect a prize. Wear only one at a time to collect. Have fun! RMK Frost Fair: The Queen's Arrival

STORYLINE: Having heard many good things about the RMK Frost Fair, the Queen of Hearts herself took a sleigh ride down to the river to partake in the celebration. Her Majesty must have been feeling rather jovial when she opted to wear a whimsical Christmas Mint Cake hat and Chocolate Peppermint parasol.

The Queen of Hearts is back and wearing a beautiful warm dress coat by Junbug. Check out that tiny waist! The dress coat comes in either blue, red, or green on sale at RMK Frost Fair. The Queen's sleigh is on sale at We <3 Role Play. It has 20 poses for male, female, and couples, comes with milk and cookies, and has only 3 land impact!
