Fantasy Faire: God of the Desert

STORYLINE: In the shifting sands of the great wasteland outside the Fairelands, a tiny Fennec’s ears flicked forward. He scanned the expanse. The sands were vibrating from a powerful hum. He sniffed the ground.

Caw Caw Caw.

Above were two black birds racing deeper into the wastelands. His little paws pounded excitedly up the dune, climbing higher and higher towards the birds and the source of the hum.

“Yes, yes, I felt it too.” A man’s voice echoed off the dunes.

When he reached the top, his little paws stopped. In the distance was a great stone circle held in place by two large stone hands. The excited crows had landed on top of them, making a great fuss. Black feathers flying.

The hum was louder here, powerful. It vibrated in his bones. The wind was picking up. He raced down the dune to take shelter from the coming storm. As he neared the stone circle, he saw the glint of gold held by one of the hands. It was a golden circular scepter, with circles swirling within circles. It vibrated and then shot through the air into the distance.

“You think the Unweaver is any match for me?” An annoyed voice replied to the crows. “You can thank me for the sun rising everyday. It is only I, Seth, God of the Desert, that can drive away the Great Serpent Apophis every night.”

The Fennec felt afraid. The hum was emanating from the other side of the circle. The fox crept around it until he saw the man in the distance, plowing forward in knee high sand. His skin the same color of sand, and hair brighter red than the fieriest sunset. He held the golden scepter forward, and the sands began to swirl around him. Growing larger and larger until it formed a great tornado of sand.

“Tell your master, the Harpy King, the Unweaver will not be driven back forever, only until this time next year. You’re Welcome.”

The little Fennec pressed himself flat against the cool stone and watched, ears pinned back, as the desert whirlwind swallowed the God whole. Then, silence. He sneezed out a pawful of sand, and trotted home with an amazing story to tell his kits.

This post is inspired by the Ennead makeup available at the Fantasy Faire by Find the Fish. The Ennead makeup sets include designs for many gods: Thot, Anubis, Isis, Ra, Osiris,  Also by Find the Fish is the hieroglyphic Sahu full body tattoos. They come with options for gold, black and gold, tintable, plus tattoo options for only upper, legs, or arms.   ...From Auro is the Saturnia Staff. The rings and center star gently rotate. It's mod, so I tinted the gemstones black.   ...From Slavia is the Ra Crown. It's also mod to create the perfect fit, and I tinted the Sun Disk black since Seth isn't Ra, but he defends Ra everynight, so I think I can be forgiven for letting him wear it.   ...Speaking on daring, Seth is wearing the male fit for the Petrichor Lekeri dress. It has beautifully detailed metal pieces, and the texture hud contains many options, plus hides.   ...From The Looking Glass are the Not Ok Hand Sculptures. I had fun making them look like they were holding the staff and the stone circle.  ...The Stone Circle is by Good Furniture and has a great stone texture that worked perfectly for a surreal desert landscape. The seating includes many sit options.... The Faire is still going on strong. Keep checking the website for the latest events and news: https://fantasyfairesl.wordpress.com/

Fantasy Faire 2025: Holi

STORYLINE: Deep beneath the Fairelands, in the dark waterways under the ancient city of Holi, slept the long lost brother of Krishna and Shesha. Early in their boyish adventures fighting demons on Earth, he had been struck down by the Unweaver and fell into a slumber that lasted over two thousand years.

But his feverish nightmare was finally broken by the sound of laughter. Rising from the shadows, he found people tossing colorful powder and chasing each other through the streets, their joy and mischief lasting from day into night.

Ah, the Celebration of Spring. With every burst of laughter, warmth returned to his old coils. Delighted, he shed his slumber like old snake skin and joined the celebration.

Suddenly, a boom roared above. He looked up, awestruck, as a shimmering lotus flower rained light over the crowd. It filled him with wonder and hope. If humans were capable of such marvels, maybe with their help the Unweaver, his old nemesis, could be defeated after all.

IT'S FANTASY FAIRE TIME! Or what I like to call, "the Super Bowl of virtual worlds." It's not to be missed!  This year the sim designers have outdone themselves, with stunning sim designs using PBR for new levels of realism. I feel like I'm inside a slick video game. And all for a good cause, raising money for The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Check out the Fantasy Faire website for daily blog posts, a calendar of events, roleplays, jail and bails, live performances, Faire radio, tabletop games, LitFest, shopping guides, the interactive Hud based Quest game, and more: FantasyFaireSL website.

This post was inspired by the Holi sim and Hindu mythology.    ...For the Holi Naga, I used the wonderful Pandora blue skin by Aki, Entu. It comes with dot tattoos and 2 stripe patterns for face and body. The ear texture is a free gift. Other blue and purple skins are available.   ...The intricate halo is a wearable prop by AIR. It comes with a modify hud.   ...The floating Orbs are by The Little Bat. They come in left and right, and both trigger a hold pose and animation. A texture hud lets you change its color.   ...The Sunscale Naga tattoo is by AERTH and comes with material shine applier, and textures to match the amazing Aii Sunscale Naga tail.   ...Speaking of, the Aii Sunscale snake tail (see in pictures below) is stunning! Easily the best Naga/Lamia tail in SL. Like all Aii products it had a wealth of texture options and ability to hide or show various parts. It has PBR and shimmers beautifully in the lights. The tail uses a clever combination of Leg bones and Tail bones to animate the tail. It comes with an AO hud to display and animate the tail properly.   ...Bonus, when I need a static tail, (shown below), I use the Lamia by deviousMind.   ...Additional fun tattoos for the face are by Star Quake with a forehead fade and eye makeup Dessen by Faeble.   ...The haunting eyes are Magici by Patrichor. These eyes replace your normal ones, and have several rig options to fit every humanoid head. The texture hud allows a crazy amount of options, from single color to fades, shadow, highlights, animations, pupil, iris, etc. It's a lot of fun to play with and perfect for all fantasy creatures.   ...{anc} has many of the best atmospheric effects, the Holi smoke clouds, confetti, and fireworks just more examples of excellent mood setters. I especially love the fireworks. It's a mesh object with animated textures. A steal of a deal if you ask me! And money goes to Relay for Life.

Like all Fallen God creations, the Holi is extremely detailed with much thought invested into it, personality, a strong theme, and it's fun to explore. As you explore, you may spot some NPCs that are part of the Holi Helping Hands region Hunt. To start, go to Houses of Color 1 and 2. There are also gifts for your own colorful powder to throw at the landing. Plus a special sale going on this weekend at Fallen Gods' store at Holi.

Engine Room : The Celestial Mafia, part 2

STORYLINE: J had a baffling nature. Both beautiful and deadly. "You must be desperate to call me," J sneered. "So who do I end?" ...."No," K replied in a grave tone, "You misunderstand my intentions. People are disappearing from New London. It was just a few at first, nothing to worry about. But the missing are now increasing at an alarming rate. None of the other crewheads came back. Go investigate, and stop it immediately. Use any means necessary."

How are you guys liking the manga/comic format so far?  From current round of the Engine Room is the the sleek shiny Domentor jacket, vest and top by Jey's. The wings by Petrichor are animated and come in several sizes, and even a nonrigged version. The claw gloves are by Wicca Originals, and since they are mod, I hid the upper part under the jacket. This cool anime style hairstyle is by Zao is called Two Hair. The setting has elements and stars from the Bibliotheca Noctis skybox by the Spires Society.  I have to make an embarrassing confession here, I didn't realize the skybox hadn't fully rezzed out when the pictures were taken. Once I realized my error, I did a reshoot but I liked the original better, so I just went with it!

Midnight Order: Curse of the Endless Library

STORYLINE: Once upon a time, two teenage twins, a boy and a girl, escaped their difficult life by reading books. One day their luck changed when they discovered a handmade book about the Fairykind hidden under a pile leaves deep in the forest. It was full of beautiful art and amazing tales. The twins fortunes grew as the book became famous. Many people paid to see the mysterious book.

Then one day, a real fairy came and demanded the book be returned immediately. At first the twins refused, then the girl, who knew the rules that bound the Faeries, had an idea. She offered to exchange the book in return for three wishes. She wished to live in the world's largest library, full of knowledge and great works of fiction, a library so vast it would be impossible to read in one lifetime.

As their wish became true, they found themselves transported to a dark place that was completely silent. When the boy stumbled, they discovered they were standing on a stack of books. It was the library they wished for, but it was in total darkness. Angrily, the twins were forced to use their second wish giving them the ability to create light.

They were determined to save the third wish. The twins attempted to escape by creating a massive stack of books to climb out of the endless library. But it was impossible. Their situation became desperate.  They were so hungry and thirsty they had to use their third wish. The girl angrily wished to never need food or drink again.

Unfortunately for them, these three wishes combined and transformed them into fairies of light, and were cursed to dwell in the library for all time.

ChatGTP Response and Sequel: The twins realized too late that their wish for a never-ending supply of knowledge had turned into a curse. They were trapped in the library, unable to leave, and unable to enjoy the knowledge they had wished for. They spent their days reading, but the books no longer brought them joy. They were just a reminder of what they had lost.     .....     Years went by, and the twins became known as the Guardians of the Library. People would come from far and wide to see the library and hear their story. But the twins never spoke, they just silently read their books. The visitors would leave messages in books, hoping the twins would hear them. But the twins never responded.     .....     The moral of the story is that sometimes, what we wish for is not what we really want. The twins' wish for a never-ending supply of knowledge had turned into a curse of never-ending existence in the library. They were trapped in a world of darkness and isolation, unable to enjoy the very thing they had wished for.     .....     The story of the twins became a cautionary tale, reminding us to always be careful what we wish for. The consequences of our actions can be far-reaching and unforeseen, and sometimes what we wish for is not what we really want. It is important to think carefully about what we want, and to make sure that our wishes align with our values and desires. Only then can we be sure that our wishes will bring us true happiness and fulfillment.

Midnight Order is back with wonderful Spooky things for your SL Life!  Aarya and I teamed up once more. The post was inspired by the Dirty Rat Library Skybox and the Light Sorceress outfit, arms, and legs by FenDuDu and the floating Etheric Lantern by Quills & Curiosities. I'm wearing the stunning Alger outfit by Kiru. Its so nicely made fantasy outfit, something very rare for the men. Be sure to check it out! The fatpack has many color combinations to really mixing up the look. The #112 hair by Ginko also adds to the romantic fantasy style for guys. Aarya is wearing the magically sparkling Eclipse Hair by Aii & Ego. Head over to her blog Dark Phantom to see more Midnight Order awesomeness!

FYI, I updated my Blog guidelines in regard to AI Art, its not going to be shown here. In a nutshell, this is a SecondLife blog, therefore it will only be showing only SecondLife in its imagery.  ....ChatGTP however, I think can be a useful tool. I asked it what it thought of my story, and it gave a response immediately! It understood my message perfectly and even wrote a sequel!  Amazing.  2023 is going to be the Year of AI....

Necrotize: The Pest Patrol

STORYLINE: Lieutenant Gooch was a hired mercenary for a very dirty job, -- the Pest Patrol for the Scheol Nebula Outpost 943. He threw the last noxious alien egg he found on the ground. The slime was all over this fingers. He angrily tried to wipe it off and called his commanding officer. “If you send me on one more damn mission investigate space herpes, I quit!" A faux friendly voice responded, "Buddy..., buddy, calm down. You’re not the first solider who threatened to desert, why do you think we took your passport? No passport, No travel." Gooch roared and threw his communicator against the brick wall with such force, it shattered on impact. He sunk down in the chair, defeated. "This is bad.” The strange purple egg at his foot began to vibrate and shake. He looked down and saw seams on the slimy thing begin to split open. “VERY bad.”

Continuing in my mini series for Necrotize, Gooch was inspired by Cyber Goth and Aliens elements. The Raxlas back claws are bento by DeadBoy and have a texture hud. The gasmask by Psycho Byts  also includes a texture hud with many options to change the look of the mask. The shoulder armor by Dreamcatcher non-rigged and mod and you can change the texture of the metal and blood. And once more I am using the fun Petrichor Syrre eyes that have great alien type textures. In the setting is the Level 9 Xino Helmet that really change its colors and looks from Xenomorph, to Squid Game, to Oni or Samurai. And the eggs are by Torment which come with a little alien inside and textures options. If you haven't been to Necrotize yet, hurry hurry. It will be ending this weekend!

Necrotize: Incubation

STORYLINE: Crewmen Stephan couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched. The cargo freighter USS Charon was dead in the water near the Scheol Nebula. Unless he could find the problem and make the necessary repairs, he was stuck until help arrived. And since that could take years, it was up to him to fix it, no matter how much his skin crawled as he ventured deeper and deeper into the heart of the dilapidated spaceship. His stomach growled angrily. He hadn't been feeling well since he ate that lousy dinner on a passing freighter a month ago. "Never Again," he swore under his breath. No sooner had he opened a hatch in the floor, then something flew out and attached itself to his face. He screamed and clawed at it, gagging and thrashing wildly. Something going down his throat! But it was too late, a paralytic venom was already slowing his movements. His vision was blurred as a dark shape loomed over him. It knelt beside him, saying “Shhh, shhh..." and stroking his hair. Tears rolled down his eyes. What was it? It looked alien, but human too. The creature’s sharp claws were caressing him like a pet. "I know it hurts, my poison will kill the foreign food-born egg growing inside you." His limp body was picked up like he weighed nothing. The alien carried him to a hole melted in the ship's hull, and judging from the leaking fuel lines, this was most likely the cause of the engine failure. Another ship was attached outside. It's black surface gleamed and seemed alive with pulsing green goo in its biomechanical veins. "We are going to a safe place," his capturer said, "Nothing will ever hurt you again as long as you are with me."

ALIENS! HORROR! Necrotize is a unique event full of things to haunt your nightmares. This image was inspired by the tale of Hades and Persephone with an Aliens twist. On the Alien is the super cool Giger outfit by Somnium. It comes with an infection BOM tattoo which I combined with the Human Glitch Ncthr tattoo. The haunted Syrre Eyes are by Petrichor and have so many options, its great. Poor Stephan is wearing the Krova Animesh Facehugger, and Antaya Incubator attachment. I discovered it works on male and female avis that wear a layer alpha. His outfit is Orther by Asteroidbox. It has support for many mesh bodies, male, female, and the Mait flat like I used here. The gorgeous setting is Level 03 by Varonis. All these awesome items are at Necrotize, and there are gifts too in the Green Eggs.

The Engine Room: Justice

STORYLINE: Officer Dobson waited silently on his perch above New London. Sweat matted his hair. It was another humid night. No doubt many naive young women had their windows open in hopes of catching a breeze. They knew nothing of the monster that plucked his eyes out. He turned his head towards the clack of a horse and buggy on cobblestones. The clocktower rang, once, twice, three times. The hair stood up on the back of his neck. There! On the street below. The sound he knew only too well. First came the click of those demonic metallic boots, the clicking of gears, followed by a mighty swoosh. He tightened his grip on the sword. The click of boots on the rooftop moved towards him. "Not one more woman, Spring Heeled Jack. Justice has come for you."

It's Engine Room time! From March 20 - April 20th, get your fill of all the wonderful and clever creations on the Spring round of the Engine Room.  This image was inspired by the Myst hair from RavenBell, the P.0.E, and the Greek goddess Themis. (and if you caught a reference to the Bed Intruder song, you weren't mistaken!)

Necrotize: The Dance of Death

STORYLINE: Astronaut Purple was dozing off at his post on the Coms. It was sterile and empty in space. He missed strange things like bugs. He smiled thinking of his lazy summer childhood days back on Earth. When he stepped outside, insects would fly away. Living things were everywhere. His mind drifted to sinister buzz of the bug-zapper on his father’s back porch. And then, it turned into the hum of the spaceship. His eyes snapped open. He was not alone. That’s when he noticed a strange dark figure in the security cameras. Was he hallucinating? He rubbed his eyes and looked again. It was gone. Probably nothing. He sighed. Nothing exciting ever happened here. Suddenly the door hissed open. Standing there was a beautiful, deadly, and strangely seductive alien. He jumped from his chair, knocking it over, his heart racing. She moved towards him in an erotic motion, inviting him to a dance. He felt like moth to her flame. Its a dream, right? She touched his leg, and electric shock jolted up and down his body. He could see his own bones glow inside his legs. The zap boomed in his head, it was deafening. He felt like he was falling. Like a unexpected power outage, everything flickered to darkness. ... Surely this was a dream.

This image originally was inspired by Fantastical Notion's First Emissary avatar. It was unusual and interesting, and it grew into a ghost Astronaut. Then it took a twist into a deadly galactic dance between a Xenomorph and Astronaut. I couldn't find a location that worked for this image, so I switched to creating a background. More items shown on the "Ghostnaut" are the Val'More Machina legs. They are not rigged so I posed them for this image. For the face is the Conviction Mutant eyes, and TF mort veins. Contraption put two excellent items on discount at the event, animesh Powerjammer spine, and Grymmer vest. On a side note, The X-ray effect I created by breaking apart the Cureless Skeleton and adding props to spine, ribcage, and legs, and using the Body Outline by Euthanasia. On the Zenomorph is the awesome shiny and scary NCHRGX outfit by Human Glitch. The freaky demonic wings are by DarkendStare's R'Lyeh. The dark skin by Petrichor has cool details like red spots, I especially loves the spots around the ears, I have never seen that before. The super shiny & bumpy detail on the skin is the material shine by This Is Wrong. Her cyber eyes and glossy lips are by Suicidal Unborn.

Necrotize will be ending soon. All lovers of cyber, horror, and scifi be sure to not miss it. The setting for the event is SUPER cool, created in collboration by Contraption and CerberusXing. So many great items are there to inspire your cyber nights. Your handy guide here: https://secondlifesyndicate.com/events/syndicate-events/necrotize/
