Home & Garden Expo Design contest: Astronaut's House

Expo Contest House #2: Astronaut House by Devin Vaughn

You guys remember the "Linden Home Challenge" I did for Prim Perfect magazine? I have some awesome news, the idea has sparked a great fundraiser event for this year's Home and Garden Expo, -- a Decorating Competition! The challenge is: Decorate one of 6 homes for prizes in 4 days, with less than 500 prims, and including 3 Relay for Life donation items from the Expo. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are determined by votes paid with Ls for the best designs. All the money from the home design votes goes to Relay for Life! You can read more about it here: decorating-competition. I love how this contest embodies the spirit of the event. Of course, I had to jump in, and I was lucky to get drawn to decorate a house, the Eco IV by Maven Homes.

Drop by to see all the houses, and vote for the ones you like before noon today! Its for a good cause!

STORYLINE: The owner is not actually an Astronaut, but people always refer to his house as the "Astronaut House." ("NASA Rover Engineer House" doesn't have the same ring to it.) The owner worked on the Mars Rover Curiosity team. All his family and baby pictures are of the rover! His new project is to design a people mover for the human mission to Mars in 2030.  JPL is not too far from his home, so he loves to commute to work in an old 50s experimental Flying Platform.

His wood oven baked pizzas made with fresh herbs are so popular, he even sells them on the side as "Space Pizza." (His parties have a mascot, "Pizza Rat" that seems to always elude the fat neighborhood cat, Luna. Even birds aren't scared of her, they often land on her back for a free ride. And his dog Cosmo is forever looking outside for a rare sighting of the mysterious Pizza Rat).

The Hamster’s Human Toys

STORYLINE: Grammy Hammy was excited. Tonight was her annual New Year's Eve party and all the neighborhood pups were invited. Just in time for the festivities, the mail delivered intricately craved miniature New Years decorations. She bounced happily to her little bonsai display and carefully added her latest little treasures. "There," she stepped back to admire her handiwork. It was just so adorable! Her special guests will be so delighted! ....Well maybe not the pale humorless male who always complained bitterly about being picked-up (he even bit her once!), but the girl was always cheerful and enjoyed being cuddled. Oh! It was almost sunset. The pups better hurry or they will miss it!  It was only after the sunset on New Year's Eve that the mini Ninjas would become visible. They were strange looking creatures, tiny hairless apes (and not all that attractive if you asked her), but they were always welcome in her home as honored guests. Why? Because they were tireless protectors of children. Each year she did her best to honor them and thank them for their service.

The Castle of the Marquis d'Auvergne, 2

STORYLINE: The heavy wooden doors groaned open as the Rockstar bursted into the castle's main hall. His boots left dark footprints on the dusty stone surface. "I love it! I must have it! All of it. Don't change a thing!" He ran like a giddy child and flopped down on a cobweb covered Louis XVI couch. A cloud of dust flew up making the old man cough. "It's perfect for my next video," he licked his lips. "Wine, roses, and an orgy of flesh." The old man shuddered as if a cold wind had just blow down the dark stone hall. The rockstar's pleasant demeanor suddenly dropped, "You think me a monster, Monsieur Gustave? It's simple, I like what I like, and I will have it. No tale of a curse will dissuade me."

Guys, have you been to the winter round of ROMP? It's the most amazing round so far! It ends Thursday, 6pm. If you haven't blown your paycheck there yet, do not miss it. You don't miss the deals on all these fabulous items. From ROMP is wicked cool Masquerade Mask by Anachron. There is a Higwaymen mask too and both come in a variety of colors. Titzuki has two fun outfits for when theres a doctor in the house. I'm wearing the Brother Victim corset. I love this corset it fit perfectly on TMP male and also comes in default avatar size. It includes TMP and Omage appliers for stockings and underwear. The Sleeves are from the Brother Doctor outfit. The collar is a team effort by Contraption and CX. The collars are based on real antiques.  I'm holding the beautiful dragon sculpture for the men and its not just form, it had has scripts too, and comes in 4 varieties.  If you have ever worn a mask, you know it helps to wear some dark makeup around the eyes. Over at the new new round of Genre are some brilliant makeups for men based on RuPaul's drag race. I used the Sharon (she is the coolest). In the background are two beautiful sculptures by Culprit and also rubber chair is also by Culprit. The chair includes single, couple, and adults poses.  On the wall is Capturado set by Artisan Fantasy. I love wrought iron, so I am loving this elegant set.  From The Kawaii Project is the Romance tattoo by Love. Long cigarette by Nikotin. Nipple piercing by Haus of Darcy, Pants applier by Muse, and the awesome Thigh high spatz boots for men by Schadenfreude. The setting is the rare Paris Loft by Apple Fall.

RMK Halloween: The Magical Academy 3

STORYLINE: Not all denizens of the Ghost Academy were friendly. In fact, one of them was positively icy. It was not without irony that just when Royal Magician Razorback warmed up to the beguiling Witch of the Fields, she spurned his affections. He conjured particularly nasty curse on her using rare herbs harvested from her own fields. It's no exaggeration to say, Hell hath no fury like a warlock scorned.

Halloween is almost here, it's best time of the year with so many awesome new releases! I have some cool things to show you. First, I love Cyber Scythe by A & Y. It's fantastic and comes with a texture change hud to change it's many parts and it also takes custom tints. The Nehtar outfit by FATEplay comes with tunic, armor, pants, and boots. The armor has materials on it so it looks really cool with advanced lighting turned on. I tinted the red areas for a deeper shade of red. Tableau Vivant's Mystic Hair is another great TV long hair for guys. It works great under hats, and you can get all the new cool colors huds for it too. This one is a brown that ends in crimson tips. Awesome. Love all these new colors. Neverwish's Wicked Hat matches the RMK Halloween Dream Gacha broom prize. You can find the hat at Gacha Mania. This one is the rare and I tinted the hat band to match the outfit. The Nightmare gloved by Death Row are part from the TAG Gacha, as well as the Minotaur head on the ground. I'm happy to tell you Lovely Disarray is back and teamed up with Anatomy for a collection at the Body Mod Expo. The Delusion Eyes Sanguine & Sleepless makeup are great! I love darkness around the eyes. The Paine Piercing by Anatomy look cool combined with the face piercing mask by Goth1c0. You can pick it up at the Androgyny round of Genre. The Auxiliary Chest Belt sash is by Epia and has a raven on the buckle. Touch it and you can change texture color. The Abdomen Belt by Dark Prophet Designs has a cyber honeycomb pattern. You may need to edit your shape for the best fit. These wonderful Regent boots by Exalted I love so much come with the Regent outfit. The book, raven, and pose are by Uncertain Smile and you buy it at the RMK Halloween market on main street as well as the Spells and Hexes supply Kit by Souzou Eien. The toy boar mount by Culprit is from the TAG Gacha. And the bloody axe on the ground is a new group gift by Remarkable Oblivion.
