Androgyny Event / Cyber Fair: Escape from Club Apophis, 5

STORYLINE: As Jihoon scrambled out of Robotics class, still flushed from Minjo’s interrogation, he was already halfway across the quad when a small hovering reporter bot cut him off mid-step.

“Urgent summons,” it chirped in the Hexa Herald voice. “Lisa Liemawr requests your immediate presence. Coach’s orders. Follow me.”

He blinked. “Coach... what?”

The bot was already zipping off. Jihoon followed, confused and uneasy. He needed to talk to Minjo. This had better be fast.

Then a flash went off directly in his face. He recoiled, vision flaring. People were moving around him in a blur: bots, drones, someone pulling at his sleeve, shouting over the hum of lenses and hover-rigs.

He heard the unmistakable voice of Lisa Liemawr. “He’s here. Perfect. Light him now. Reset the aperture! Kyra, ready pose option C!”

Another voice, silky, sultry: “Over here, Ringer. Let me see those pretty eyes.”

Jihoon turned, dazed, still partly blinded. “What’s going on? A photoshoot?”

“Of course!” Lisa’s voice was far too chipper. “Quick! Uniform change. Baseball kit. Chop chop, handsome.”

Someone shoved warm fabric into his arms. He obeyed without thinking.

When he came back, blinking under the harsh photolights, the scene sharpened. A turquoise backdrop stretched behind a girl so flawless he thought she might be CGI. Tall, feline, radiant: the head cheerleader, Kyra. Skin like silk-augmented vinyl, cyberlock hair twisted into luminous braids, and the school colors etched along her cheekbones in shimmering nano-paint.

“Kyra, give us coy. No... Flirt! You're in love with him.”

Jihoon glanced around. “Where’s the coach?”

Kyra turned, smiled, and grabbed his wrist with cool, perfect fingers. “Photoshoot, Ringer. You need autograph photos for the Season Opener.”

He stared. “Autographs? Me?”

She leaned in close, her voice a whisper only he could hear: “Just smile and look at the camera. You’ve got the face. You’re already the poster boy. Time to act like it.”

Jihoon’s palms were sweating. His breath caught. She smelled like synthetic cherry and static electricity.

And suddenly he wanted nothing more than to be somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Cyberpunk meets Sportswear! Big thanks to my blogger bat buddy Aarya for her creative take on cyberpunk cheerleader. This post was inspired by the ongoing story and the Fewness shirt for men at Cyber Fair. It comes with fits for Legacy male, Legacy female V-tech, Reborn V-tech, and Anatomy. The Hud has a combination of texture theme options for outer shirt, lower shirt, and 3 detail areas. For me, I used red and the dragon on the back became the mascot for my fake university, the Jae Won Dragons.  ...Adding a futuristic take on baseball, is the BISON Vortex Gauntlet gloves. The Hud comes with options for glove texture, special effect texture animation style, and adjustment for the glow color. Plus you can turn on and off the energy lines aura. (I went without aura for this post.)   ...Who needs cleats? Gimme big old antigravity Moonboots by Cattoza. These boots are very fun, with cat kawaii details but you can turn it off like I did. Lots of color options. Works great on men and women.   ...Keeping track of Jihoon's bio stats, is the ZERO black light that sits on the skin and the flash version lights up your cheek like a high tech bandaid. (See close-up below).    ...What does cyberpunk Baseball need? Latex pants! Don't ask me if they get hot, who cares if they are painted on BOM layers by Cubic Cherry. They are just so handy to have, and the add-on Fades on top of it are nice revision to the baseball white pants and team color knee socks.   ...I was having a fit trying to find the perfect skin for Jihoon, (I mean its a tall order), but then I magically discovered a perfect solution at a new-to-me-store on a weekend sale, Soo by Outernaked. There are several great skins there and wealth of different skin tones to match your favorite bodies skins too.   ...I added the Random Matter's Cyber Doc headset for a twist to the black cheek grease paint often used in baseball and football.   ...Aarya, as Kyra, is wearing the Seka's Tech Base boots. They have PBR texture options, and the fatback has a huge choice of color selections, and animations too, to make the perfect look for your outfit. The boots come in tall and short boot, fits for men and women.

Cyber Fair: Escape from Club Apophis, 4

STORYLINE: One day ago, at Baseball Practice

The bat cracked like a whip.

Another ball soared past the outfield net, denting the fence behind it. The batter didn’t even flinch. His body moved with frightening precision, hips snapping, arms fluid, as if something else was swinging through him.

“Who is that?” someone muttered near the dugout.

That’s when the high-pitched whirring started.

A sleek drone, pearlescent blue and humming with quiet excitement, zipped into view and hovered ten feet above the field. On its glossy chassis, the glowing insignia of The HEXA Herald, the university’s omni-channel newsstream, blinked awake.

RECORDING IN PROGRESS: BASEBALL PRACTICE, DAY 4
SUBJECT OF INTEREST: UNREGISTERED PLAYER? UNKNOWN TALENT?

“Zoom and enhance,” chirped a girl’s voice through the drone's speaker. “Is that... our team?”

The bot adjusted its lens, capturing the impressive player’s stance and the datapoints pulsing from his bat’s smart-core. An on-field player laughed: “Yo, Lathandro! Leave some fence for the rest of us!”

The drone froze mid-hover.

“Did he say Lathandro?” the voice asked, amused. “That can’t be right… Wait. Did the coach say it too? Rewind five minutes.”

The bot rewound.

"ROOKIE ROLL CALL!" Coach’s gravelly voice bellowed. “Lee? Minwoo? Kang? Sohyeon? Lathandro?”

Jihoon’s voice, calm and automatic: “Here.”

A pause. Then a gasp. “Oh my cyber-soul. That’s not even a real name on file, is it? M10, scrape the registry.”

Another pause. Then:

TRANSFER: LISTED TWO WEEKS AGO
MAJOR: UNDECLARED
FILE ORIGIN: RESTRICTED ADMIN LEVEL

“Ohhh, this is a story,” the reporter whispered, her voice brimming with glee.

The drone zipped away, collecting interviews. Girls giggling behind their visors:

“He’s, like, part machine or something.”
“I swear his bat glows.”
“Did you see his gloves? They look like something out of a noir assassin sim!”

Coach gave a grunt when asked about the mysterious rookie ringer.

"Lathandro? No, no. That’s Yoon Jihoon. He calls his bat ‘Lathandro’, like it’s some kinda good luck charm. Hell of a swing on that kid. Hey, I don’t ask questions. I’m only interested in results.”

“Ahhhh, I see. So Lathandro is the bat,” the reporter said, barely hiding a smirk.

The moment he hit the ball, she knew he was marketable.

She already had her headline.

Later, that night — livestream from Jae Won Stadium

The HEXA Herald’s stream overlay sparkled to life.

A stunning crimson glass cyborg girl with antennae, slick letterman jacket, and oversized holographic-enabled sneakers sat on the bleachers, holding a mic with gleaming teeth.

“Hey there, Dragonlets! It’s your girl, Reporter Lisa Liemawr, with Bot M10,” she winked. “Coming to you live from Jae Won Stadium, where I just discovered an incredible talent!"

M10 projected a montage of amazing footage of Jihoon.

"...Mysterious, gorgeous, and slightly terrifying. It's... Lathandro!”

The floating bot squeaked happily beside her.

“And guess what?” Lisa grinned, raising one foot toward the camera. “There’s already merch! Check out these totally outrageous AHEGAO Lathandro slippers!”

She kicked her feet back and forth—the slippers, black and white with exaggerated cartoonish Jihoon faces, complete with drooling tongues and googly eyes, jiggled like a toy.

“He hates them. Like, absolutely hates them. Which is why I ordered ten more pairs!”

She leaned in, stage-whispering, “Naturally, they’re selling like hotcakes. Grab yours before the Friday opener and wear them loud, proud, and slightly cursed. Just 3,600 credits. Buy it now!”

Bot M10 flashed the QR code in midair with a happy ding.

“Lathandro’s legend is just getting started,” Lisa purred. “And The HEXA Herald has the exclusive!”

Laughs.  This was so crazy fun to do. Thanks to my fellow Blogger Bats, Aarya and Akira, for brainstorming and encouraging this wacky post.   ... The REKT Glass Automata is very cool. It come with cyborg skeleton and exoskeleton of glass. With the detailed image of the texture hud you can change the colors of the various parts. It's mod, so I rezzed the Exo Arms to hide the arms so they wouldn't clip the jacket.   ...Speaking of, the Pallas jacket and pants is by Kira. It has a wealth of color options. I went with a letter jacket type look instead of a cyberpunk style.   ...The Ursidxe Hair, Digital V2, worked perfectly with the Paw Paw headphones, BTRFLK-X01. The hair has many textures and streak options. The headphones come with butterfly wings, but you can hide them like I did. It also has a lot of texture options.   ...The Antenna-like horns, Tech Horn by {ID}, and the bridge augment add even more Reporter on the Scene type of vibe. They include texture options.  ...The eyes are Pixelated. Arcade Eyes, by IKON. They look smooth from the distance, but get up close and you get that 8 Bit artificial feeling.   ...The Face Implants are a tattooo layer by Physique X. They include a few options for different internal views and color wires.   ...The sunny college girl skin is Kyka by GLOOM. It's very nice, and I love the many color options. I used the Dracula, and then tinted the face to match the glass body as closely as I could. Then I made the skin Fulbright with a slight glow to match the head and body. Pretty cool trick!   ... M10 is the InkMe Space Robot 10. You Rez on the ground and click him to start his wander. The face blinks and glows.   ...But you guys want to talk about the funny shoes right? Diaboli Design's Mindbreak Slippers are another wild and eye-catching pair of shoes. This time with an anime face on it, making uh... funny faces. lol Lots of color and animation options, rigged. and unrigged.

STORYLINE: Jihoon barely heard the drone of the teacher's voice over the buzzing in his head. He was physically present, but mentally hacked. Words dissolved into static. The fluorescent lights above felt harsher than usual. He hadn’t slept. The image from the Smart Mirror, that glitch, kept replaying in his brain like a virus in a loop. It hadn’t been a hallucination.

His fingers hovered over the embedded screen on his desk, only pretending to scroll through the lesson. In reality, his searches had grown stranger, darker, more specific. Search: "Lathandro, Apophis Atelier, Gin Aesthetica."

His breath caught when a website instantly appeared. It was elegant. Minimalist. Professional.

Jihoon stared, stunned.

Client testimonials poured across the screen, glowing with impossible praise:
"No scars. Minimal pain. Revolutionary."
"Dr. Gin’s techniques ended the cycle of post-surgery pain medication abuse."
"We are leaving the age of barbaric medicine and entering the golden age of true beauty."
"I was a plastic surgery disaster. He not only saved me, he made me beautiful. Dr. Gin is a saint from heaven!"

It sounded too good to be true. But Jihoon only had to look in the mirror to know it was real.

On the *About Us* page, there he was. The King Cobra himself. But not in leather. Not in chains. Not prancing in fishnets and lingerie. Not smiling like a sin-drunk serpent god.

No, this was worse. This version wore a pristine white coat, hair slicked back, no glitter, no heels. Just clean lines and polished confidence. Behind him, a backdrop of sterile chrome and frosted glass. A face exuding trust. Prestige. Sanity.

The caption beneath the image read:

Jihoon’s fingers trembled against the glass. It was him. No long hair. No lipstick. No velvet laughter. Just a calm, professional gaze. The look of someone who’d never done anything wrong in his life. He scrolled lower.

Client List: Private.
Clientele: Global entertainers, political dignitaries, royalty, world athletes, news anchors, CEOs.
Appointment Wait Time: 5.7 years minimum.
Location: Classified / Invitation Only

Jihoon went cold. His pulse beat in his chest. The elite of the world, rebuilt, restructured… maybe even owned by this man. And Jihoon? He had been inside his lair. He had seen something he was never meant to see. His vision blurred. The letters on the screen began to shimmer, slither.

The website font twisted, coiling into glyphs like snake tongues. He gripped his desk. His breath caught. Was he hallucinating? Or was something breaking inside him?

Did no one else see this?

He didn’t notice Minjo until she spoke.

"You're going to get flagged by the school firewall if you keep that up," came a soft voice from just ahead.

Minjo, girl genius of the Robotics class.

She didn’t even turn around. Just said it like a fact, like she’d been watching him from the back of her skull.

Jihoon flinched, eyes darting up from his screen. Her short, choppy bob shifted slightly as she leaned forward, refocusing on the teacher. Her hair today smelled like coffee, and the edge of her glasses had a smudge she hadn’t noticed.

Every time she looked at him too long, Jihoon wanted to melt into the floor. She saw things. She saw him. And he wasn’t sure that was something anyone should do right now.

He had always liked Minjo. The kind of liking you hide behind careful glances, or take the long way just to pass by her locker. But lately, that crush had grown claws, rooting itself in his ribs. Since Club Apophis, her voice was the only one that sounded real.

And now, as she leaned toward him, close enough to touch, something ancient stirred in him. Something dark, aching and hungry. A pull. Not just attraction, but instinct. Like her heartbeat was music.

Minjo turned slightly, just enough to speak to him from the corner of her mouth. "I know about Kyle. And the dare. I know you went."

Jihoon’s stomach dropped.

"I just don’t get it," she said softly. "You’re smarter than that. You don’t have to prove anything to people like him."

Her words wrapped around his neck like a noose made of truth. He opened his mouth, spewing garbled noises. There were so many things he wanted to say to her. *I love you. I need help. I'm scared.*

But what tumbled out of his mouth instead shocked him:

"Lunch? With me?"

Peeking from her shoulder, her Emoti-Bot changed its expression from worry to a big smile.

She blinked, surprised. "Sure. Outside. I need to talk to you too."

At that moment, another little bot on her desk made a low beep and projected a blurry hologram of Jihoon with heart eyes. A third one squeaked and played a warbling MIDI version of "Secret Lovers."

Jihoon groaned and covered his face.

Those damn bots definitely knew too much.

This post was a lot of fun to do, I love robots and this round of Cyber Fair has a wealth of them for you to enjoy. The Robotics Classroom is made from the Soloars Solarpunk Workshop. Its PBR with wonderful textures, lights and PBR probe all set up. 53 land impacts, and scripted doors. ...Also from Soloars is the Duck-E animesh robot. It can wander on its own, or is an attachable pet. it comes in Orange or Pink. And it quacks too. ... The hover bot is Mr Nice Guy by Bondi. It comes is several colors and has a hud to change its facial expressions. ... The wearable dueling animesh bots, Click to Fix Bot, are by Tardfish. Click on the bots start their war. lol It comes in several colors. ... On the deck is robot box head, Aras TV Head by KYMILE. It comes with a hud to change its textures and display screen.   ... Hanging from above are the cool hanging planters, Scifi Inverted Ring Lights Set by Cerridwen's Cauldron. Click on the rings to change their colors. They are mod too.   From Shard are the fun animesh robots Harrori Lenzo and DaVinici Butterly. ... Serving as futuristic school desk are Desk: Europa Desk by Isil, La Sina Lounge Chair Grey by The Loft, and laptop by MESHWORX.

Worn by Minjo is the T-666 jacket by Over. It works pretty cool as a cyberpunk school uniform with led glow parts.   ... Paired with it are the T-022 shorts by Sokiro. They are mod, so I used the black set and tinted the led glow part to orange.   ... The hypnotic eyes are Cyber XI by SHIMM. They are the bonus texture from the fatpack, brown eyes with a receiving wifi signal icon as the pupil. Pretty cool effect.   ... Additional parts of Minjo's outfit are: Zeroichi's Ocean Goggles, GRAAL's Elion glasses, MALified Cyber Mechanic Gloves in orange, Wasabi Pill's Cleo hair with the gold beads hidden, and Phedora Banshee boots. The BOM layers are both knit as my nod to Minjo's inspiration, -- Cyberpunk Velma from Scooby Doo fame. lol
